This is a great place if u have friendly fur babies who need to RUN...leashes are not required.... There is river access and trails to walk through the woods. Also there is a public boat dock.... With an amazing view of the BEAUTIFUL Sellwood Bridge! So grab the kids( furring or not) and head on down.

Generally pretty nice space, can get crowded. While most dog owners are friendly and also looking after their pooches that are off leash (nearly all dogs are off leash here), some just let their dogs run wild and dont have etiquette which is very frustrating. But, being on the pebble beach shore next to the water is awesome inside a big city. And most people are respectful, their dogs super happy.

It has a great dog park, but the best is the river. Its technically not a dog park, but everyone pretends that it is. There have been occasional busts by the parks department, but people are generally really good about controlling their animals, so hopefully it will live on.I often wonder what it would take to get it made into a river access dog park like Thousand Acres (Sand River Delta).

A beautiful place to hang out, enjoy the outdoors, and water with your friends or family. Dogs are welcome. The water is very cold. Bring a nice blanket to sit on and snacks. A public bathroom is on site. Parking fills up quick but sometimes you can find curbside parking.

It was a nice place to be because the people were happy and friendly. They had picnic tables near the water. Lots of dogs although some did not clean up after them which is disgusting because children play there. It only takes a few. Other than that it was well kept with lots of shrubs, flowers, and trees. Very picturesque

Great place to bring your dog for a day or a stroll at the waterfront. I’d be aware as there’s a lot of irresponsible people that don’t pick up after their fur babies and there’s smokers who throw their butts where ever they want, besides that it’s lovely!

A very nice place for an easy kayak trip. It was a bit too crowded for me on the main beach, but very easy to find a secluded beach via kayak. I even saw deer running along the beach. The water was pretty warm and comfortable. Lots of dogs and a significant amount of dog poop laying around.

This cool little park seems to pop up out of nowhere. Located next to business complex and along the road leasing to Oak Park sits this little square patch of grass. You can practically guaranteed to find more then one person letting the dogs run free. A sidewalk runs along the river and in front of this small park. If your new to area this little park is worth the stop in.If you found this helpful please click the link below. Thank you.

Awesome family and Fido-friendly dog park along the Willamette: the perfect place to soak on a sunny Sunday afternoon! The wife and I took the kids this past weekend for some summer recreation, hoping that after several weeks of 80+ temperatures, the water would be warm enough to wade in. Sure enough, the river was moderate and placid (sans a few wakes from speedboats racing up and down the river), and nearly as tepid as bathwater. The beach itself was busy without being packed. Yes, there are dogs everywhere; if this is a problem for you, go elsewhere. Even with Rover and friends roaming off-leash, every pupper we encountered was friendly, and the owners present were sociable and responsible. There is some litter (usually at the tree line), and I found at least two small pieces of broken glass in the sand as well. Whether they were washed up from the river, or left behind by inconsiderate partiers, I cannot say. Just be cognizant of these warnings (which should be your default behavior for ANY river or beach), and you and your family will be fine.

Great place! Watch out for lots of dogs on the weekends. During the week its pretty calm. You can take your kayak down to the water..I just drag mine down. Get in and paddle past some islands out there,we saw a deer and Fawn.. during fishing season you will see a stray sea lion shocking as it may seem, they bob out of the water you can see them as you paddle on down.or go to the nature trail see a bald eagle and ospreys,or go to Oaks Park in the summer for some cotton candy and rides. Enjoy!

This is a great spot to bring your 4 legged friends. Our dog had never been near a body of water (shes less than 2 years old) and she took to it in a minute here at the River. This isnt just for four legged friends, people were canoeing, paddle boarding, sun bathing (some topless - if you are into than thing).Theres a nice grassy area near the parking lot. And on the subject of parking, be aware that there is very little in the parking lot we parked in. I dont know if there is an overflow or extended parking lot elsewhere.

This less frequented spot is one of Portlands not-so-secret secrets. Not a great place for a hike, but a truly ideal place for a picnic and wading (or swimming, if you catch a rare hot Portland day) without a crowd. Dog friendly, including off-leash, and safe for families with young kids.

Off leash grassy area + dog friendly pebbly beach! There is a big grassy field we played fetch in until we got to warm, and then we went and played fetch in the river. There was one other person and dog playing fetch in the grassy area with us on the other side of the large field, and quite a few folks walked by with puppers. There river front was more crowded, for a summer weekday afternoon, but we found a dry spot on a rock to put our stuff and a piece of beach to splash around where we wouldnt disturb any families. The beach was a long stretch of sand changing to pebbles as it entered the water.Parking is free nearby lot. Restrooms are available in-between lot and grassy area.

We attended Flotsam! A river circus. It was adorable and entertaining. Getting to the area was easy for us able bodied. If you have a wheelchair or knee scooter, it is not easily or even moderately accessible. We made it but then there wasn’t much space for those on wheels to see the performance. So, if you are producing an event here, just because there is disability parking, the access is not great.Outside of that, it’s a beautiful spot to enjoy. Bathrooms are not close.
