A landmark or Portland, something Portland is known for! On my last night on Portland I walk thought the waterfront and river park and I enjoy a nice night pic of the white stag.

A new Portland tradition for me! I love the city and seeing this sign lit up at night was a sight to see. Stop by for yourself and enjoy the views all around you!

I saw the sign as I was walking across the Burnside Bridge and after going to voodoo doughnut it’s actually a really nice walk and it’s pretty safe to walk across the bridge from the sign to the other side. Right now there’s actually construction on the right side of the bridge so it’s a little bit hard if you want to walk on that side but on the left side it’s very easy walk and there are occasionally bike so you have to be pretty careful to not get hit by one of those but otherwise it’s a very romantic walk in a sense. I walked alone but I can still say that it was a good walk and you can see a lot of the Portland waters from here.

Probably the most famous piece of neon in Portland and I love it! Built in 1940 by Ramsey Sign Co it has survived. One thing that has happened since the begining and remains today is that the day after Thanksgiving they put a red bulb on the deers nose, thus, here comes Rudolph ️

It was a nice warm evening to take pictures. As soon as I stepped out of the cab, I could smell human waste. Lots of homeless people milling about. None of them bothered me.

It’s an office building that has been beautifully updated to be LEED certified. It’s well managed, but getting to and from the building means navigating many street people/houseless folks, several of whom are under the influence of something.

Proceed with caution. It was cool to get up close to the sign, but this sidewalk is shared with a shelter, so you may find a lot of unpredictable and mentally ill homeless people milling about. None of them bothered me, but I felt very uncomfortable and unsafe with just me and my friend being outnumbered. Just visit during the day I guess.

Visted from SoCal for the week, stopped to walk up the Burnside bridge around dusk to catch the sign light up. Altough there is a big tree in front of it that blocks the sign from across the bridge. So to get a good look at it you almost have to get under it.On a side note, the sign is located right next to the homeless shelter, so if you go at dusk be prepared for that.

It was hard to get a clean shot of the sign due to all the trees, but still fun to see. The sign is right next to a homeless shelter so there was a ton of them milling about watching me, but only 1 was a problem and made it very uncomfortable as she was walking all around yelling and cursing at the top of her lungs and was clearly under the influence of something. I still had fun but without her it would have been perfect.

This sign is iconic, the deer is originally from the White Stag logo and was the sign on the side of the white stag building, where their clothing was produced. The words White Stag were originally where the Portland Oregon words are now. But before it was the Old Town Portland Oregon sign, the city was going to take the sign down until it was purchased by a private party, Bill Naito I think, and he change the sign to read Made in Oregon. The best part of the Stag is during the Christmas season, they give him a red nose.

I would give this place 10 Stars if I could! Very cool old historic building. And of course the iconic Whitestag! Ive always liked how they put a red nose on him around Christmas! I am very glad they decided to leave that sign on the building.(Vancouver, wa. didnt have the same common sense and they removed their lucky logger neon sign proud of the dumbest thing Vancouver is ever done in my opinion it added character just as this classic white stag sign does!)
