This is a great trail. Wide enough to walk easily but still has essence of a forest trail. Parking is easy as they have added extra gravel bank (careful, it’s slippery). We passed many fellow hikers (in masks). All were friendly. Signage is clear and all bridges, trails well maintained.

Absolutely beautiful! The goal was to see the stone house because it was used in Grimm. Was not prepared for the hike. Maps made it look like there was a walking path right there. Nope. Long, winding, steep slope. But worth it!! Muddy in spots, but fantastic little creek runs next to alot of the path. Gorgeous green moss on the trees, fresh smells and amazing nature. Were out of shape, so it was hard on us, but normally fit people zoomed on by. Very worth the muscle pains.

No signs to the park. Not identified until in a round-about at the parking area. Only 5 spaces with a few more along the entrance road and around the perimeter of the round-about. City could eliminate some grassy area and add 10 spots. Actual hiking & picnic area well maintained. 2 uni-sex flush toilets

Forest park is a great retreat for in-the-city hiking. There are dozens of trail heads and there is something for everyone. The only down side is that there are usually a lot of other hikers so it isnt great for solitude.

Trails are nice, fresh air is amazing, but drive out east to Vista House if you want an experience youll never forget! This is the place to hang with locals & enjoy the city’s lush greenery. As The Thermals describe it, “It’s enormous, with so many different trails, and it stretches all the way to Washington.”

A park at the edge of the city -- but it is mostly undeveloped (except trails and bridges). This makes it possible to feel like youve completely gotten away from the city and are on a long trek in the middle of the woods. I hike most of the 30 mile Wildwood trail every year and find it cleansing for the soul! Run or walk your way to refreshment and feel free to bring along your (leashed) dog.

If you’re looking for a hike within Portland city limits, this a great place to explore. Tons of well maintained paths that intersect so you can create the length and the amount of challenge you want. Very few signs of being in a major city, little sound pollution and occasion views of downtown.

Miles and miles and miles of well maintained trails. Never really too steep, the entire course is very runnable. Be mindful of the folks who allow their dog off-leash-- I was startled more than once by loose pups. I personally dont mind, but I could imagine it could be an issue for a reactive dog or someone afraid of dogs.

Wonderful hiking park with lots to see and explore. There can be quite a few joggers, families and people with dogs, but it is so large that we forget other people are there until we cross by on the path. Paths are well maintained and fine for even very young children with supervision. Parking can get tight at some entrances, so watch for places you can turn around.

I went on a hike here during a nice, sunny day. I ventured on over to the Stone House/Witches Castle which was a very fun and steep downhill hike. Theres a lot of beautiful streams and greenery that are perfect for any nature lover. Plenty of people jog on these trails, so if youre up for a challenge in your cardio workout, give this place a shot. I miss the wide sprawling expanse of lush forest being just a short trip away from home. The park is beautiful, the walking trails an adventure, and the wildlife both in flora and fauna is a pure delight to take a moment (or several) to enjoy.Make sure to take time to read the amazing quacks throughout the park and learn about the native wildlife and the treats of invasive species. Please pack out your trash with you to preserve the beauty of the natural ecosystem and dont be afraid to remove someone elses if you spot something that may have gotten away from another visitor.I hope this little slice of heaven is preserved for generations to come and look forward to getting back to Portland to explore more of its winding trails and hidden gems soon.

Incredible trail system nestled in a major metropolitan area. Whether you are looking for a gentle path through nature or a more challenging, rigid climb Foret Park has the trail for you. Great for a run, walk, bike ride or whatever you do.The main trail (Leif Erickson) has quarter mile markers and runs just over 10 miles. It is perfect for a 4 to 10 mile tempo run.Be aware the trails branching off the main path (Leif Erickson) can be rather muddy after a rain
