These guys let over 10 people in, in front of me .my friend was infront of me they let him in without checking an id or anything. After that I stood in the rain waiting in the front of the line for another 20 minutes. When it was finally my turn to hand my ID over. Two bouncers on a power trip got in my face and said its a 10 dollar cover...as if it started as soon as I was about to walk in. I only had my credit card ..but I know they didnt charge my friend who they just let walk in. So I decided to tell the door men i was goin to hit an atm an just left. With that being said there attitudes were awfulIm not sure if they didnt like the way I looked.or because I was excited to go inside in a good mood ...and they were stuck at work on a Saturday night. As a local ...I wont be going back to this place. Its a joke !after reading other reviews it looks like a judgemental atmosphere.Good to know im not the only one that they gave a hard time!

Oasis is best bar in the old port bar none! One of the only bars that offers a live band out side. They have a up stairs DJ and dance floor thats always hoping. The bar tenders are rite on the spot! The security rite on as well and made me feel safe and felt like they were there for me! Would definitely go again anytime Im back in the old port!

I was completely shocked by the way the doorman and owner treat people of diversity. If you don’t fit their idea of what they consider to be their “crowd” then you won’t get in. Zero tolerance and diversity at this place.

Big yikes to this place. Incredibly transphobic and homophobic staff. There are much better (both in not being hateful and also just higher quality) bars in Portland to spend your money at

I am very hesitant to write negative reviews of any business. Small business owners work hard on tight margins to make a go of it and they and their staff usually deserve the benefit of the doubt, everyone has a bad night.Oasis is a different story. I pride myself on being a responsible, respectful patron of Old Port bars. I’ve been to Oasis many times and never had a problem until last night. Prior to going in I had three beers over two hours, a universally acceptable amount (especially for someone who’s 6’4”). Apparently I was “visibly intoxicated” according to the bouncer and was denied entry, so we went across the street to Bonfire without a problem for one drink, noticed the bouncer left and the new bouncer let us into Oasis without questions. Upon leaving the original bouncer was back and asked me how I got in, to which I responded “apparently the other bouncer doesn’t have a power trip problem like you”. I guess this set off his deep seeded insecurities because he tried to take my mug shot and marched me up to the police on Fore Street like a criminal. The police said I seemed fine and that they’ve had problems with this specific bouncer before.Thugs like this have no place in the Portland nightlife scene. Portland has become a world class destination and it’s a shame that one incredibly negative individual like this can create bad experiences that would ruin the image of our city for visitors.

Absolutely reeks of piss. Thought maybe my nose was oversensitive or it was an off night, but Ive heard the same thing from other people. There are plenty bars in the Old Port that have cheap drinks and wont make you think youre in a stable.

I didn’t know it was a requirement by law to say hello to security in order to get in the club. I highly recommend you reevaluate your security staff because they are losing you business because of their own pride.

IF YOU ARE FROM OUT OF TOWN DO NOT GO TO THIS BAR:Absolute worst bouncers. I was in Maine visiting family for the weekend. When trying to get into the bar, the bouncer took our IDs and told us he believed they were fake due to inconsistencies and that we would have to find the police to get them back. After getting our IDs verified by the police, he would still not let us in. The bouncer proceeded to follow us to another bar to kick us out of that one even after their bouncer had let us in because theyre all owned by the same people supposedly.

To be completely honest, I didnt go INSIDE this place, but I walked by it and it was so lit and poppin. I wanted to go in but the group that I was with wanted to go somewhere else. You could hear the music from the street walking by, it was a great vibe even just walking by.

Outstanding Customer ServiceMy phone was found at Oasis and the next day one of the employees Caleb contacted me via facebook to let me know. He went above and beyond while helping me. He drove the phone to me the next day without hesitation. I cant imagine this kind of customer service from many of the bars in the area!Drinks and dancing are always great, I will be back!

Worst experience ever! I was there for a Bachelorette party and had no problem getting in at 8:30pm by 12:30am we were told we were kicked out because the mother of the bride was too old to be there Weird since she was the one buying shots and drinks all night for not only us but others at the bar. Our money was better off at a place that accepts everyone!

I go to Oasis regularly and didnt appreciate being kicked out for telling a security worker that I didnt want to talk to him while I was trying to enjoy my night with friends. I was the designated driver for my friends and getting pushed out the door by a worker who was twice my size at 12:57 when the bars close at 1 was ignorant.

Ive never written a bad review ever, because Ive never had such an inappropriate experience to go out of my way and say something bad about the place. But Oasis, Oasis is the single worst place in Portland. I dont mean to throw Oasis under the bus because really its the out of line bouncers they hire that abuse the authority they are given. The number of complaints about them assaulting guests written here alone should be more than enough for something to change.I was outraged when it happened to me, and Im absolutely sickened to watch it happen time and time again. The racist, sexist behavior displayed over and over by the bouncers working at Oasis should not be tolerated, and is beyond unacceptable. I hope that by reading any number of these reviews youll see that just about everyone has had a similar terrible experience, and next time your on Wharf St youll go somewhere else. Porthole is way more fun anyway

SantaCon was a experience if you didnt know about it. however most bars do the same first weekend of December. Bar staff was quick to serve if your loud enough to be heard. Most of security was on point except for a few. They seemed very on edge and just looking for a fight with local patrons. Pretty much a hole in the wall if you are into that type of atmosphere. There is better places to go if looking for a staggering night out. Would not recommend a second visit.

Im a military member and I went there with my fiance. Obviously having out of state IDs. They took hers and wouldnt give it back until the police showed up an hour later, only to not let us in, after the security guard had been rude and extremely disrespectful.

Absolutely terrible experience. My friend waited over 15 minutes at the bar trying to get someone to serve her one drink, being constantly ignored as others coming and going were served first. When I tried to flag someone down behind the bar, all I got was an insult saying theres no way Ill get served with that attitude, and they walked away. To make matters worse, they doubled charged her over $50 when she bought a single $6 drink. Theres no phone number listed that she can even call to get this sorted out, forcing her to go through her financial institution. This place is super sketchy and I would not recommend.

Seriously.. they were rejecting almost every girl with open shoes (feet exposed). I just had a tiny hole in mine and that led to me not getting in. It makes some sense, I guess since broken glass can be present on the floor at times. But shouldnt that be under the person that accidently steps on some glass fall on their responsibility? I dunno guys.
