The Saranac River Trail is great place to bike, run, walk, skate or just walk your dog. The trail follows the Saranac River throughout Plattsburgh. Ive spent many mornings walking the trail and getting a little outdoor time to relax.

Always close to the Saranac River, the sights and sounds of rippling water are soothing and inviting to the casual stroller, bicyclist or skater. The trail has just the right mixture of sun and shade, forest and meadow, to tickle any nature lovers fancy. The Saranac River Trail makes it possible to travel across a wide swath of the city without using city streets. That is only going to get better as the next phase is built. It will then be possible to travel from the west end or south end to downtown without using the city streets.
