Great views, easy to moderate trail. Best time to go is when the fireweed are in full bloom. We went after that time and fall colors are beginning to appear. Nevertheless, still a lovely trail to take.
Love going here its beautiful
We hiked until the 3 Mile Marker and it was wonderful I absolutely love Alaska.
For a camping /parking area, restrooms are very well kept.
Well lets just say this could be the way Heaven should look like. So beautiful and peaceful. Just a beautiful spot in this world.
One of my favorite trails in Hatcher Pass. Its pretty flat so great for hikers of all ages and skills. The views are gorgeous and the foliage around the trail is pretty. Its got a creek to cross and a few parts can be muddy so I recommend boots. Theres an open use cabin 10 miles in for those that want to camp.
Good place for people that dont need a big challenge. Easy for kids or people may not walk as well. Strollers do well with bigger wheels. (The farther you go the harder it gets so good for all)
Very mellow, not to steep
This is a good access point to tree line after a lengthy hike. I have witnessed a fair share of lawlessness including target shooting in the parking lot and frequent, presumably drunk driving. Not a very family friendly or safe location. Go to the top if you are not OK with human-related dangers.
Really nice trail
Absolutely gorgeous in late fall. Im going to make a point of going back to hike the trail in the late spring/early summer in hopes of seeing some flowers. Also, there was a surprising lack of wildlife, maybe it was just because of the late time in the year that we went.
Huge parking area and a handful of tent camping/picnic sites (summer only). Has an avalanche beacon check station as well as vault toilets. Provides access to the Gold Mint Trail and upper reaches of the Little Susitna drainage as well as the winter snowmachine trails in the Hatcher Pass management area.
Nice fall day but wet today
Nice hike to go with your family.
I didnt hike but went to parking lot road was clear snow on montains.
Only did the first mile and a half, but it was well maintained and BEAUTIFUL! That part of the trail at least would be good for trail runs and biking as well as hiking.
Beautiful day, sunny, hot with a strong breeze. Only went half of a mile on the trail, dont know what happens later on, but its a nice walk.
The trailhead is a bit cleaner thanks to the volunteers from CGMS and MSRC.
One of my new favorite hikes in alaska. Well kept, easy hike.
This is an 8 mile trail through a mountainous valley in Hatcher Pass that leads to Gold Mint Glacier. There is a cabin at the end of the trail with multiple bunks where you can stay overnight. The trail is great for hiking and biking in the summer and snowshoeing, cross country skiing, or skinning in the winter.
Beautiful hiking area some great views. 9 mile hike to summit so be prepared
Its Earth dude its beautiful
Gets you close to the water without consistently being next to it. A nice relatively flat walk. Great for kids and dogs.
Definatly a great hike!
All year round the view is great ..the trails are very nice ..hiking or skiing or snowboarding even snowmobiling very fun...well worth it
There are picnic tables, fire pits, and toilets at the trailhead. Bring weather appropriate gear, ~the weather changes quickly, bug dope ~the mosquitos are relentless, and a sack for fiddlehead ferns, blueberries, and rosehips.
Beautiful scenery but a lot of dog poo along the trail
Very easy going, most anyone can do it.
Good parking, easy access. Nice hike along the creek.
Great, safe place to hike. Lots of parking. There is a parking fee.
Stopool here for hike along a mid altitude trail in Hatcher Pass.
Beautiful, but everything still closed for winter, 6/1/18
