Super sized panorama of awesome Alaska glacier valley in February. Rock and snow slides across the dirt road were a caution about driving all the way down, so we walked and ate at the restaurant up on the highway afterwards. Want to fall in love with Alaska, come see this too.

Beautiful hike around the lake. Too bad the shooting range is close by and scares our doggies to the point of running away

Fabulous forest trail system for walking and riding bikes!!The square trail intersection posts each need a location map. it is easy to get lost. *Cell phone mapping is not current to the installed trails. The trail intersection side-of-post signage relies on arrows, the paths do not allways align.*A Colored dot on sign arrow could match a colored marker at start of trail. Main line trails could use a different pattern. This would provide better flow.*4ea. 100 cleared Life Flight helicopter landing spots should be interspaced on the Ridge tops. A cell phone call for help cannot locate or reach you. Clearing trees would provide viewpoints.A trail worker volunteer sticker should be available as a seasonal pass for those of us who would participate in these updates.

Excellent place. Diamond in the rough. Great mountain bike trails. Mosquitos are getting vicious, but if you adventurous enough to take a quick swim in the lake the irratation will subside for hours. Im definitely going to spend my birthday out here.

It was not one of my favorite sites. It wasnt very scenic and the parking lot was littered with potholes and was unpaved.

Beautiful lake, lovely scenery, nice trails to hike, can bring boats and finish on the lake or swim, one of the cleanest lakes in alaska but unclean restrooms every single visit, they either smell to high heaven or they are crawling with flys, spiders and other nasty bugs. 7$ parking fee.

Short trails abound around Matanuska lake. As a bonus, the day use area connects to a longer trail system. A $7 day use fee is charged per vehicle regardless of party size.
