The long lake trailhead is highly enjoyable. The trail doesn’t gain much elevation and meanders through the woods with views of the lake. Depending on the route taken, One can continue hiking through the forests and connect to the Crevasse-Moraine trail system, or branch off and stroll through the grassy fields of the UAF farm trails. The trail system(s) via long lake are extensive so be sure to pay close attention to the map and your location on them.

Parking area.and.lake access/ boat launch very well kept very serene area. Lots of wildlife great, fishing. 1-10 = 7 and the grounds.person.Steve is a.good.dude.. helpful/polite/ and humorous. Pleasant outing.

Beautiful little public area! Went ice fishing and it was peaceful and easy access no fish but the stay was worth the visit
