One of the best rides of the parkThis is inside Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom Park. It is in the Africa section near the back of the park. This is the first time that we have been on this ride since COVID restrictions began. They handle the crowds very well and our wait time was about 10 minutes. It is a ride in an open truck through the various habitats. The views are the best in the park to see the many animals that are there. The driver keeps up a running explanation of the different sights as the truck follows the path and other truck from beginning to end. The road is not smooth and so expect a fair amount of side-to-side motion along the journey. Overall, a very nice ride and a must see if you come to the park.

We got some really close up encounters with several animals. Got to sit in back of bus which is a prime location if you ask me due to the entire back being open so had more visibility and more ventilation especially with the panels installed between rows of seats. Driver did a great job explaining about the animals.

This is one of the most neat attractions they have in my opinion. You get up very close with the animals and sometimes they will even walk up to the car. One time the giraffes were fighting and my son thought this was the funniest things ever. We got some great pictures of the beautiful animals.

This is better than any zoo to see the animals. You feel like you are truly on a safari and can see the animals in their natural habitat, rather than a cage. You can see the various regions of animals and some of them are all about showing off for the crowds. The guides do their best to give you a chance to take pictures at various angles. Kids and adults will really love this experience! You need to do this to experience the animals!!

Right off the bat — this is worth getting a fast pass for and save yourself a little bit of wait in the line. You’ll likely still wait about 15 minutes in line on peak days, even with a fast pass, but it’s worth it.Because we’re dealing with animals here, it’ll be unpredictable what animals will be out and visible to you on the tour. My recommendation (as shared by our driver), the best time of day seems to be as evening starts to set in and the sun is about an hour above the horizon and the air begins to cool. Animals come out to feed, are a little more active, and will probably also be out sunning themselves to stay warm. So consider waiting on that tour until after 3:30pm.The ride is really bumpy — you ride in a large touring truck open on all sides on padded bench seats that seat four across. You’ll likely end up rubbing shoulders with your family (or complete strangers sitting next to you). Photos may be difficult to take — they’ll occasionally slow down for photo opps, but rarely will stop for it.I do recommend making this a part of your day, though. It does make Animal Kingdom less “ride” oriented and more like visiting an overly expensive zoo (and let’s be honest, it is). But it’s worth at least one stop to the safari ride.

Sadly, this safari ride was hurried along. I understand that is has to be time limited, due to the long line of guests waiting but it was just so disappointing. It was best described as having an Uber driver making a number of 5 second stops, just long enough to point out an animal, and then moving on to the next. Be quick with your cameras if you wish to take photos because you wont have much time to observe. We went just before sunset, as we were told that the best times are first thing in the morning and around dusk. Some of the animals we saw were: an elephant, 3 lions, 2 giraffe, 2 hyenas, 2 cheetahs, a hippo, some crocodiles, wildebeest, etc.

If you go later towards the evening the line gets short. We waited only 10 minutes on a busy day. Lots of animals to see. Do realize these are live animals in a plain. They can be hiding or sleeping so every ride will be different. The ride itself is extremely bumpy and they won’t stop long to grab photos so take them quick.

ANIMAL KINGDOM DURING COVID:All of the precautions taken during the Covid 19 Pandemic are absolutely refreshing. Upon entering the park you have to get your temperature checked by and Advent Health professional. Theres tape on the ground to keep 6 feet between your party and the next. There are countless hand sanitizing stations throughout the parks. There is a new reservation process now, to control the amount of patrons that visit each park.Because the capacity is kept and controlled to a lower level, the wait time for all of your favorite rides are typically kept to under 25 minutes. We visited AK on August 2nd our longest wait time was ten minutes, that includes us riding Avatars Flight of Passage twice(max wait time was 10 minutes although the sign said 25 minutes), Expedition Everest, Dinosaur, Kali Rapids, the Safari, and the Wildlife express. For someone who visits Disney about 4-8 times a year. I honestly love the crowd control, it makes for a better experience and you can literally ride every ride and do it in a timely fashion. If you have been wondering whether you should go to Disney or not, Im here to tell you that you should definitely visit while the crowds are being kept to a lower capacity, I assure you it will be better than any of your other visits to Disney. And of course with all the precautions you and your family should be kept safe from the virus.

Another must do at Animal Kingdom. This takes the zoo concept and turns it on its head. You get to see animals in recreated settings to match their natural habitats. An issue with this ride is that sometimes you dont see as many animals because they dont keep them super confined. Animals, like giraffes and rhinos can come within a few feet of your vehicle. Definitely use a FP+ for this attraction.

This is a great ride both for the fun and for the educational experience, it can give your kids, at the same time. If you enjoy animals AT ALL this is a MUST SEE. My favorite part of the park by far.Every animal in the safari is real and free to roam about at will (excluding the predators who have their own enclosures within the safari). While you’ll see plenty of wildlife from both sides of the bus, I would recommend sitting on the left hand side. From here, you will have a better view of the crocodiles, lions, and cheetahs if they’re visible. Because the animals are alive and free to roam, there’s never any guarantee of which you’ll see. Regardless, there are different animals at every turn and it’s pretty spectacular to see them wander.Don’t hesitate to go if it’s raining as the animals love to come out into the rain.

The jewel of the animal kingdom park, this Safari ride is sure to please. My family has done it twice, 2015 & 2017, and both times we saw at least one animal in each habitat, most of the time multiple animals, sometimes even babies. Theres nothing worse than visiting an animal habitat at a zoo, or drive through safari where youre told the animals are there, but all you get to see is empty habitat. This has not happened to us here. Moreover, the designer of the lion habitat were very clever, and from the perspective of the riders aboard the trucks, it looks like the lions can reach their prey animals, and might pounce at any moment, but in reality theres a chasm between them.Toward the end, the driver even provided some advice about other park attractions that turned out to be very helpful.

Great way to see animals. The safari vehicle takes you through various areas of the park to see real (not animatronic) wildlife. This is the ride that made the park. If there is one ride you cannot miss in this park, this is it! The daytime ride is exciting, and wonderful. A fun real safari ride even though it is in a tightly controlled environment. Animals are alive and make the ride different every time. Some animals sleep during the day, but show up at night. The nighttime safari is a different adventure, not exactly for little ones as most animals are sleeping, but you will spot a few that typically hide from the sun during the day like the hyena, lion roaring in full mane, and its interesting to see others sleeping or concealing themselves. The first step towards preservation of endangered species is appreciation. This ride promotes that and depending on how active your safari goes the guide may recommend several things you can do to help.
