Our car was towed while viewing a property to purchase. We were never told of any rules. We were not even there 15 minutes. We called the community manager and she said too bad tow the vehicle. This sadly shows how this community treats their tenants and new property owners. Even more sadly the tow company said if we pay him 65$ cash he wont tow the vehicle. Shady practice here watch out.

Be sure to drive the speed limit. These old ladies have nothing better to do than hawk out everyone elses actions and literally chase you down to tell you your driving too fast at 20mph. Sorry thought it was 25. Youd have thought I killed the pope with her response...

Prices are going up seems like every other month and theres too many old mobile homes in need of serious repairs that make the newer homes unattractive and not worthy. Other than that its safe, grass is well kept, office response quickly to complaints, and show concern, trash removal is on point!

To many unauthorized young people and young children living here and they cant keep the pools heated and running. Management believes when asked if they live hear and told no they are just visiting they dont do a thing about it. Also they lock the office during business hours. Management should come in after hours to see what is going on here. Should be someone on 7 days a week. They always dont answer the phone both office and maintenance during and after after business hours. Security at night you get an answering machine.

We have lived here in Starlight Ranch for 27 years. We have endured many changes in ownership and on site managers. The company that presently owns Starlight Ranch is called Leisure Living Life Styles or something like that. This is company is only interested in milking the home owners for every dollar possible. The service is very poor, the manager does not care about what yards look like. The huge rent increase this year was $38.00 a month on the excuse that we were equal to two far superior parks. The lawn cutting service provided as part of the rent increase is a joke. Our yard is very wet and we have fought the results of that for 27 years. A good share of the water comes off a parking lot behind our house which drains into our yard making it even wetter. Requests for help for that have gone unheeded. The public sidewalk in front of our yard is badly worn and cracked and request for repairs have gone unheeded. I would not recommend anyone move into this location.

Terrible office personnel and really not a 55 and over. I have seen way younger than 55 here with children. Dont let the façade full you the rent is outrages for the seniors that live here. One neighbor pays over $600 for a single mobile home. The people that have double wides pay the same as a single side home. The companies that they have working to collect the trash and recycle are a joke. The streets are messy after they pick up the trash. Even the recycle isnt picked up they missed the entire development. You complain to the manager and he has an excuse or doesnt care. The staff doesnt pick up the phone. Yard waste is beginning to accumulate all over the development. All to save a buck. Then they have a tow company that comes drive in the neighborhood to catch people park on grass even if it is just grass touching your tire. Then the tow company extorts many from the owners. They have different amounts but it is the same company. One driver will charge a hook up fee of $75 another will charge $100 then the next guys $125. They are just extorting money from people and jack up the hook up fees to line their pockets. One thing the manager is a joke the previous manager was a professional this new guy is just for a check.

My experience was horrible! I came to visit my grandfather. I parked my car in guest parking and my car got towed!? Mind you it has only been ONE day! No time to get a pass AND my grandfather can barely get off of bed to get me a pass. No warning at all! I dont recommend anyone coming here. Even to visit because they will give you a hard time!

This park is not maintained as most senior communities. Friends who live here are struggling to pay the rent which has a large increase each year. ELS is known for their precedence to Hispanic residents. The activities are almost non-existent. In the past, there were many resident activities planned by the Home Owners Association, however, now that board is not as caring as the officers used to be. They do nothing to assist the seniors who have lost their partner/spouse and who must now live on a much lesser income. I would never recommend this community to anyone. If you want to know what actually goes on in this community, drive through and speak to residents. You will then know the truth. Talk to more than one to insure you make an unbiased opinion. I am sure many would move if they could financially afford to do so.

Fore those who say lot rent is not high, go to the office and you will find out if your looking to move there. Who can afford or will pay 614.00 lot rent another 35.24 for a tax then another 25.00 for sewer thats 683.64 @ month...that alone is another mortgage payment on top of you buying the home. may as well move to Blaldwin Park and buy a home there.

If you are contemplating living here, think twice! Rent is going up 20% sooner than later, that is a 110.00 each month. This mobile home park is going down fast, it is not a 55+ community anymore. You can take a ride yourself down Wild Horse Rd and see how the demographics have changed. The streets have low light, there are frequent water problems. There are no disabled parking spaces by mail boxes and potholes leading to it. There is a failure to maintain lawns looking decent despite the increased rent to get the job done. The HOA have been very inefficient in stopping the multi billion dollar corporation to increase the rent each year. I wonder why....

The Muscovy ducks have been here for the 5+ years that weve lived here, weve seen them give birth and weve seem them perish from predators, mostly large Hawks, and cruel and inhumane individuals, who take it upon themselves to destroy these beautiful and loving creatures because of the hatred they carry for them. They can be a nuisance to some residents, for various reasons, but the killing of them just because you dont like them, is beyond logic and questions the mental stability of the perpetrators. They are Gods creatures, just like us,they have just as much right to be here as we do.The laws are contradictory and confusing. The Fish and Wildlife people say they are not protected, yet the Florida Statutes warns against anyone inhumanely, or deliberately harming them, would be in defiance of the law. They are protected in Southern Texas, but not here,so the contradictions continue. They are an invasive species, and if the residents want to move them to a sanctuary, where they can live free from the danger that they face here, then Im for that, but the real motive here is to destroy them, and the authorities wont do anything to stop it.

I have lived here since 1994. I enjoy living here. This is a HUGE 55+ and up age restricted mobile home park. I feel relatively safe in the park, there is one way in and one way out. They have 2 clubhouses, tennis and shuffleboard courts, 2 pools, sidewalks on the main roads, they mow the lawns for us. They plan dinners for us each month thru the HOA, they also have Bingo and Bunka nights too. In the winter, there is chair exercises and summer, pool exercises. We are close to 528, 417, and OIA. We are on the bus line too. Come check us out, tell them Dawn sent you.

The nefarious ELS Management believes they are living in an John Steinbeck Short Novel . . . whereas the slumlords gain wealth on the backs of the infirm, poor and elderly. This is not the Great Depression. Senor Citizens have inalienable God Given Rights. The Community is beginning to resemble a World War Ghetto. The greedy Real Estate mongrels base in Chicago increased the Lot Rent, taxes and refuse pick-up every year since they took over the property . . . at the same time reducing the basic services. Complaints are met with sassy, insolent and abusive demeanors on the phone and the office. At times, one feels they are living in a abusive Elderly Home. The bottom line, ELS Management cares only for milking the Social Security, and pensions of the Working Class. Many are selling their retirement homes at discount price to live at peace in their Golden Years. There is something immorally sinister when a company wishes to make their fortune on the Elderly Retirement Funds. Seniors are not a profit business. They created our Noble Republic and fought in bloody conflicts around the world to defend our freedoms, peace and our future. The United States is the Greatest Republic Nation in history because of our Elderlys valor . . . Before purchasing a retirement home in Starlight Ranch, do your homework and research the Real Estate background. You will find it interesting. ELS has a F with the BBB.

Equity Lifestyles that owns Starlight Ranch are only interested in milking the residents to pay their shareholders. There has been very few improvements in the park and quite a few robberies since security is little to non-existent.The corporation will not acknowledge the homeowners association and the homeowners association has very little weight to back the residents up.Our lot floods when it rains and when we ask the management to do something about it, their response is that it is our issue and not theirs.Rent increases are done every April and lot rents are much higher than most. Equity Lifestyles (ELS) will say that our rent is current with the surrounding properties, but those other properties have better amenities and security as well as better management than ours.
