Lovely, enjoyable little park! The grands & I went on Labor Day weekend. It’s wasn’t as crowded as we expected. Nice family groups, everyone considerate & friendly. The water was a bit swift and cold when first entering, but one good dunk and it was fine. It was mostly shallow(5ft or less) with occasional pockets on one side or another that were deeper(about 10 or 12 feet) but the water was clear, tea colored, so you could see to the bottom almost the entire way. The boardwalk was well maintained with nice benches built in along the way. The 5 swimming platforms were all nice and shaded with only a few spots in direct sun. We took crackers and snacks but had to leave them in the car because it said No Food. The grands inner tubed all day. We didn’t see any wildlife at all, not even a little lizard-I think the festive crowds ran them off for the day. There’s a box on the way out for contributions but other than that, there were no fees. The parking lot was well maintained and very accessible, right by the park-not a lot of walking to get to the first platform. Highly recommend! Especially for a change of pace from the beach/saltwater experience!

Turkey creek is a great nature walk , with cold swimming in the summer , paddle boarding , restrooms , parking , picnick tables , seating for rest stops along the way. Everyone is so friendly and helpful and there is also security for assurance. When you are getting your exercise you are so busy saying hi you dont realize youve already got your walking in.

An amazing treed wood boardwalk winds through the woods. There are multiple stops to swim in the spring fed creek. You can walk the mile boardwalk and float all the way back to the start. Its a beautiful experience! Clear cool water. Hidden gem.Go on a hot day during the week and it shouldnt be over-crowded.

Want to hike for free through a swamp without getting swampy? This place is for you. If you do want to get wet, feel free to go into the water at any one of several access points to the creek along the boardwalk. The park also has security, plant life markers, benches, picnic tables, a vending machine, and birds (if youre very sneaky). Great place for all ages to enjoy!

Wonderful little park offering an elevated boardwalk and bridges crisscrossing a cool, quick flowing stream through a subtropical wooded lowland. Platforms offer access to the sandy-bottomed, slightly tea colored stream for wading, floating and swimming, while placards identify trees and provide details of the natural area. Turtles and birdlife abound in addition to the lush plantlife. A pavilion and restrooms are provided, with free parking as well. Allow an hour minimum, though some jog the distance for exercise. Wear a bathing suit and sandals for a refreshing dip!

Really surprised at how much fun we actually had. Educational and fun. I like that it was boarded, easy to get the stroller around. Wish we could have went down the creek in tubes but Im just too scared of the water moccasins I saw there. Still hopped in the water at the few landings they had. Close and cool to do.

Turkey Cricks another free fantastic Florida resource. Its basically an L-shaped boardwalk trail that runs along Turkey Creek sporting various launches for swimming, tubing, kayaking or whatever along the way. Theres two entrances, most people use the one over on John Sims as theres also a large pavilion over at that entrance that people always seem to be enjoying. Sports a large fireplace which is nice.Ive been coming here for years and years visiting family in the area and usually try to get in a few walks whenever I can. Its about a mile one way.Theres on-site security and video surveillance if that makes you feel any better; and theyre usually very friendly when you ask them whatever. While it impresses as serene, youre never really far from earshot of the wooshing highway nearby or the startling crack of heavy military and domestic air traffic overhead. So theres bird watching of another variety.Nevertheless, this is a solid five Star Park for all it is.

This is a great trail to take a stroll with little ones. Weve yet to brave getting into the creek but looking forward to warmer weather to try. Safe and well maintained. The remembrance area is such a unique place. Can be enjoyed all year through. I would suggest maybe setting up newer information posts along the route or even setting up a childrens treasure/education to add to the peaceful views. We love taking our little one here.

Turkey creek is a gem located in the west side of niceville. The cool waters flow continuously all year and are very clear. Great to walk the deck that will allow you to traverse 1 mile up and back down the creek. Many docks to swim and float from. Not many fish so dont worry about getting tangled in any fishing wire. Welcome respite from the warm summer. Clean and well kept by niceville city parks.

Its a great place to take a long walk in the nature on a well-maintained boardwalk. In the summer its nice to splash around in the Coldwater and there are multiple places to jump in. The covered pavilion at the front is a nice place for shade and eating. Because Park employees are always on site there are very few issues with people acting out.

Beautiful place. Nature lovers need to go here. Many wonderful things to see. Nice large path. Lovely views. Edit: My, how things have changed at this beautiful park! Most days are relaxing and peaceful, however, this Labor Day it was not. Families with 20 members or more taking up entire docs, with unsupervised children. Not explaining to their children that this indeed is a public area to be shared by ALL not just their families. And I cannot blame the children, it is the parents. Four rude parents even of small children were not showing consideration for anyone else. People were moving items that dont belong to them. Yes, they were moving my items. Kids screaming. No, Im sorry, I have children of my own and of course they are allowed to have fun, but they are never allowed to be inconsiderate of others especially in public places! I hope this was just an unusually busy day!

This well-maintained park is worthy of a visit by all ages and abilities. (Wheelchair accessible...Easy to push and maneuver our wheelchair on the wide, one-mile boardwalk.). I am so disappointed right now. We have a group of seniors that love to come here, its usually a great experience for them. Today we were completely blown away with the awful attitude shown from the park supervisor Phillip Spencer. There is no reason to be so rude to little old ladies. They have said to take Turkey Creek off their calendars they no longer wish to go because of this mans shocking behavior.
