I am missing this place right now for so many reasons. First, it is a place that gives you the best price for going to a gym and has most of what 95% of people need or want at a gym. Second, from 2016 through Spring 2020, I was able to stay in the best shape of my life in part due to this wonderful, clean and professionally run establishment -- and I am still grateful for it. Finally, it is a wonderful gift to upper west sides especially, given location and I live o nly about ten blocks away!The simple routine I had was made better by the fact that this place remains a hidden gem of sorts -- rarely busy except on weekends. Thank you NYC for this recreation center. I cannot wait to go back once it is safer and we have moved beyond the current challenge, the pandemic.

A complete gym with swimming pool, workout center, fitness rooms, basketball court for those that don’t want to spend a fortune at a competitor for gym basics. Annual membership fees are close to what you would pay for one month at a leading high end gym in the area. With the price will definitely be sacrifices to amenities such as no towels and not as much gym equipment so there might be a wait to use the machines.

My review would have been much better if this place had more calendar slots dedicated to adult basketball. Some how pickleball & ping pong get the majority of the slots on the calendar. Big waste, dont understand how those two activities get more action on the court than actual basketball activity for adults, amazing!Cmon GERTRUDE STEP UP YOUR GAME ATLEAST LET US SHARE THE COURT WITH PING PONG OR SOMETHING?! THIS IS CRAZY, DOESNT MAKE SENSE!

Great rec center! Pool is not open on Sundays which is too bad. Locker room is not newly renovated but perfectly functional. Great price for students at $25/year.

Nice pool. $100 per year membership allows for use of all NYC facilities. Free swimming classes for kids! Some nice outdoor pools in the city--totally free if you have a membership card.

Nice staff. Classic pool, nice wide lanes, not that long. (Distance sends it down a star for me.)

Clean, kid friendly and they have swimming classes for children with signup online in the preceding autumn.

Hands down the best of the New York Metro Park gyms AKA recreation centers. Lots of classes available after work as well as a pool and a basketball court and a climbing wall!!! Its really great gym and a yearly membership is very cheap especially if youre under 24.

Best of all NYC rereation centers. Very clean, wonderfull staff, Plenty of activities.

Really nice now that it has been done over.. Great family park connected to it & you dont need a membership for the park.

If you want to spend $25 A YEAR for gym, pool, computer lab, and bathrooms with locker and shower for a hard day of work at the gym. This is the place for you. this place beats ANY gym in NYC. I promised you if you want your money worth this is the place.

Anyone in nyc should have a pass to the recreation centers. They are great and cheap.

I come here for the pool but on some occasions Ive also used the computer room, which is super-convenient - right near the entrance. The pool is nice - not my favorite among the NYC indoor pools, but its rarely crowded and the location is fairly convenient.

Very nice, newly renovated facility. The staff here is friendly and the facility is kept clean. The only negative is that it seems that the pool was not renovated and it needs an overhaul. There is no heating in the pool, so its very very cold for children who take swim lessons here. Also, there is nowhere for the parents to watch their children during swim lessons. Just a few small windows that are too high and do not provide a good view.

First time there was this past Sunday. place looks clean very quiet. computer room as soon as you enter the building. Locker room downstairs very little space not that it matters but it is a small building so its understandable. Weight room third floor ping pong table as well. Something really cool i saw was a indoors tennis gym, another room with Yoga classes music and trainers.I know the place has a swimming pool. As far as the running machines there is about 10 of them different ones from sitting and pedaling to running. I was not impressed with the weights. that was the main reason i signed up. not enough weights or work out machines just a few. coming from a gym like planet fitness this place needs to step it up with the varieties of weights and work outs they have. I was not impressed expected more from a place like this especially in midtown Manhattan. I really liked how there was only about 3 people in the lifting room everything was available for the first half hour i was in there. Then it just got a bit crowded since it it a small area i just left. I guess its all about picking the right time to work out. Iam currently enrolled in this gym and i will continue attending this place. Really nice staff and people to meet in there. :)

This is by far the best rec center, super friendly parks officer and very clean - please dont change and other rec center should follow their example.

Wow. This is playground is a hidden gem. Very clean, new playground structure and a field for ball playing which was a good size given the placement of the playground. I think it had a artificial grass.

Pool open M-F 7am-9pm and S+S 8am-3:30pm. Adult lap times that work for me: M-F 7-9:45am and T+T 6:15-9pm and M-F 7:15-9pm.

I always have a good time togheter with my husband to dance class and ping pong

Good recreation center, it offers several training options and program. It is in a quiet area, walking distance from the main areas of the city.

For a rec center they have everything i need exercise rooms , equipment, weights, classes, a pool and social organized sports

I enjoy the 12pm aerobic classes on Monday thru Wednesday by Lorena...She is great!!

Great programs for toddlers, and a very nice staff. The indoor pool is never crowded and, compared to other centers, this one is real clean.

To much fun in the playground from sprinklers to futbol soccer field, my sons love it!

Real nice and new but no bench press with barbells or barbells at all only dumbbells in weight room, cardio room ,room for yoga/stretching/dancing, small bball gym, gender lockers, small indoor pool bring a swimming cap to get in, computer lab, meeting rooms for arts and crafts.

I tried to use the facilities for a day, the guy at the front desk didnt make any effort to help me, he answered phone calls in the middle, talked with the people on the other offices. The swimming pool is small and its used on the narrower side. The locker rooms are nasty

The website should really mention their policy of not letting people under 17 enter the center before 2:00pm on school days of the surrounding schools. I went when my brother was on break at his school and he wasnt allowed in. I didnt even know beforehand so this irritated me.
