I very much dislike this theater. Last year for our one year anniversary my girlfriend and I decided to go to NY. She had never been, and always wanted to go, and I just loved NY and additionally my hero Mel Brooks at the age of 92 was going to do a live show. I woke up early in the morning, and bought decent tickets, nothing to expensive, but then later that day I saw there was a VIP opportunity. I got really excited, because it was my dream to meet him. I talked to my girlfriend and because she is the best girlfriend ever she agreed to get a VIP ticket with me. The tickets I believe were a little over 600 dollars each (if not more), and keep in mind I was a student, and this 600 dollars was almost all of my savings, but you know when you have a dream, especially one that you might not get a chance to accomplish again, you have to do it. The description online for the VIP experience was a little confusing, so just to make sure (because again 600 is a lot especially when you dont have much more) I called the theater directly to ask them if this was indeed a meet and greet, and they said yes. Later that day my girlfriend called them as well, and they again said yes. So, the next day when I was about to upgrade the tickets, I decided to triple check and I called the theater again to make sure, and guess what they said, yes. I got the tickets, and I did not regret it one bit, I was so excited! The VIP experience began I think two hours before the show in the Italian restaurant next to the theater, thats where we thought he would come, but he never came. All we got was not a very good Italian buffet, a signed poster, and Im not going to lie incredible seats in one of the first few rows. I cant complain about the seats, or the show, both of those were amazing. But if I knew there was no meet and greet, I would have for sure not spend my savings on this and either would my girlfriend. Like I said I could have gotten much better food for much cheaper, the poster was nice, but I didnt need it, I had something signed by him already, and while the seats were incredible, I didnt mind much worse seats like I bought initially, I only spent most of my savings to meet my hero, and that did not happen! We talked to someone there, who was kind of running the VIP event, but she said she cant really do anything about it and we have to talk to the box office. So a couple days later (as not to ruin the rest of our trip by focusing on this) we called the box office. For starters the lady was so rude! For someone in the customer service industry, she knew not one thing about customer service. She disagreed with everything we said to her. Eventually we asked to speak to a manger, and she said they are not here right now, Ill leave your name and number on a sticky note, and shell call you guys back. This was a year ago so Im having a hard time remembering exact lengths of time, but a few days or maybe a week later we called back because we still had not gotten a call. We were told the manger is not in, and theyre sorry they havent called yet and the manger will call me when she can. About a month later, after still never getting the call I decided to try talking to Ticket Master, but of course they could not do anything since it was the theater people who told us there would be a meet and greet. So i tried filing one of those credit card complaints, and they also could not give me my money back, again because they paid ticket master not the theater. We ended up giving up and never getting our money back. Im sorry for the super long, not very well written review, but Im just still so angry and upset a year later. Thank you for reading, I do want to say one more time, the show itself was incredible, I mean how can Mel not be incredible!

Another theater in the Broadway area. This theater tends to have a lot of musicals. During my pre-Covid visit, food was strictly prohibited. Not a bad theater to see a show overall.

Beautiful theatre. Clean and wonderfully restored. Front door staff, bar staff and cleaning staff all extremely polite and helpful. Restrooms were spotless and comfortable. And the seats! More comfy than my couch at home and didnt feel cramped at all. The sound was on point, acoustics excellent. Just an all round lovely night.

My daughter and I saw the Amazing, high energy and fabulous Tina Turner play!!!! This is my 2nd time seeing this Broadway play! I love it and would go see it a dozen more times!!!! The singing, choreography and story line is fantastic!!!! In this particular show they left the part out where Ike threatens Tina during her Whats love got to do with it performance - towards the end of the play, but :Tina is a MUST see play out of all Broadway plays!!!!

Sat in the first row of the second mezzanine for Tina Turner. The seats were good. Having late people who took a very long time getting to their seats really interrupted the show for me. Besides that, The Tina Turner musical was fantastic. The theater is very nice.

The venue was pretty cold as they kept the fan on probably at maximum during the show. So many of us just kept their jackets on during the show. I guess it was good they dont offer the check in jacket service in this venue. I also found the sound to be unnecessary loud which impacted its quality which is a big deal for a musical, I feel. The location is very good connected with metro stations and just around the corner is Times Square.

Great show (Tina Turner The Musical)!!! We won lottery tickets to the show which out as front and center to the action (Orch, Row B is the first row)! We were told it would be a partial view, which in the end I was fine with, especially given the price for lottery. However, this meant that you couldnt see a lot of the backdrop or chorus when they were farther back on the stage, and for even the lead characters, you could only see them from knee up, and sometimes it was hard to watch the lead if they were right in front of you (too close for me to be making eye contact!) The concert at the end was awesome and we got to stand and finally see the full set! Great show!!!

Great old theater with a proper sound system. I was in the orchestra on the aisle which accomadated my girth and length. I saw Summer: The Donna Summer Musical and it was top notch from its sublime beginning to its stupendous ending. The entire cast was great but the three women playing Donna were true talents who had voices of character and presence rather than the screeching Idol wannabes. I really loved the show and me along with the audience were transported back to those glorious, or so we thought, days of disco when people went out to dance, sweat, and have fun.

Saw Morrissey here during his 7 day residency. The theater seems to be well maintained given its age and the Art Deco decor allows you to time travel a little bit. Experienced a little congestion by the bar but once the seating opened it freed up a lot of space. I dont think theres a bad seat in the house. Exiting took a little time but not as chaotic as other theaters.

My favourite theatre of the 2 we went to (winter garden also). Well looked after inside and large reception area before you went into sit down. We watched Charlie and the chocolate factory and was the greatest thing Ive seen in a theatre, very very good. Especially the actor who played Willy Wonka. We were in the orchestra seating and was a great view. All drinks and sweets were Wonka themed with slush puppies and sweet cocktails (alcoholic and non alcoholic). I understand this show goes soon so try and go see it before it goes, you wont regret it!

I was so excited to finally watch Tina The Tina Turner musical being a huge fan of hers, however the experience at the theater was deeply scarring. I know its difficult to get people to actually put their phones away and not record and avoid flash photography, however there were times during the show it got really out of hand. The ushers although nice werent able to really contain the situation well. During the intermission I asked one of the audience member politely to refrain from using phone but they made a huge scene and even went on to threaten by using unruly language. The management did hear the story and tried to console as well as theyre able but we had to leave with a bad taste. Also, some audience were eating peanuts completely disregarding the fact that some people may be allergic. Just be careful here. Its a good show but whats a good show if youre not having a good time after spending some money on tickets.

This theater is on the smaller side compared to others nearby. I also noticed added chairs on the end of rows so keep in mind that if you buy an aisle seat you could be sitting in an actual chair, which is probably better than the tight seats. I recently saw Tina here and didnt understand why, during around the 3rd musical number about 20 - 30 minutes in, about 25 people were escorted down their seats by ushers with flashlights. I understand that people come in late and theaters these days will always seat people no matter how late, but there has to be a better way because seeing about 25 people making their way down to their seats in the center orchestra was super distracting. People were standing quite a while in the center waiting for others to make room so they could get to their seats. Also thought it was weird that everyone was allowed to record and take photos of the last 2 songs which were done as an encore in a concert style. Arent these actors union? I was always told that was against the law so I was just confused by that. Theater itself was also a little raggedy like the boxes piled high in the womens bathroom for no reason.
