The Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts serves three primary roles: world’s leading presenter of superb artistic programming, national leader in arts and education and community relations, and manager of the Lincoln Center campus. $1.2 billion campus renovation, completed in October 2012.

It is the stage that all artists look forward to, and it is also the New York Cultural Center with a theater, opera house, concert hall and outdoor concert hall.The Lincoln Center is a meeting place for performance venues and the largest art venue in the world. It can accommodate a total of 18,000 spectators at the same time.It is mainly based on the three theaters surrounding the Fountain Square-the New York State Theater, the Metropolitan Opera House, and Avery Fee. Snow Concert Hall is the main venue, as well as the Guggenheim Open-air Plaza in the west, the New York Performing Arts Library in the east, Julia College, and Ellis Durley Concert Hall. The center will also hold some regular events, such as Midsummer Night Swing Night, Mozart Music Festival, and the Emmy Awards at the Lincoln Center.You can take subway line 1 to get off at Lincoln Center station, or take lines A, B, C, D to 59-Columbus Circle station.

Gorgeous, expansive space. The outdoor courtyard and fountain are great places to take photos. Great acoustics through the whole space. Production was gorgeous. This is something to get dressed up for!

Opening night of Porgy and Bess, It was magnificent. It was my first red carpet event and the energy was lit. The show was great my first Opera and I felt like a movie star. Lincoln Center is the the diamond stud of performance arts. The crowd was stimulating and everyone was so polite, I must invest into going to more great events at Lincoln Center.

Definitely worth a visit. If you are a New Yorker, this is a must at least once. Get there a little early to take pictures. It gets crowded very quickly. There is a restaurant inside and snack bars. I would suggest you do not seat in the boxes. When they state that the view is obstructed, they mean it! The boxes are small and tight. Not worth it. Seat somewhere in the middle even if its in balcony. The snack bar is super expensive so eat before going. Its a long show but there is a break. I love that they have translators on every seat. Its pretty cheap, starting at 30 and goes up depending where you seat.

Incredibly talented musicians of the New Philharmonic. I saw Strauss Alpine sinfonie was amazing, really powerful seeing this live.

We enjoyed an outdoor concert at this venue, there were a number of acts including Something Positive dance company.

While normally you need ticket for a performance at Metropolitan Opera or Nee York City Ballet, you don’t need a ticket to visit the Metropolitan Opera Gift Shop. At times, you can find great bargains on special gifts, music CDs, books, and surprising fashion items, such as dresses, handbags, wraps, and evening wear. So you don’t have to even attend one of their world-class performances to enjoy your time at the Met.If you are so inclined, you’ll be completely amazed by the opulence of the theater itself. I’ve attended opera performances they were absolute stunningly staged musical and dramatic works.

Went to see the New York City Ballet and the show was great as was the facility. I had a great view from my seats. Only negative was they allowed me to buy snacks just before entering to see the show but upon entering was told I could only have water in the theater. I wish the person at the consession stand would have told me before I made my purchase.

I visit here often. The outdoor areas are beautiful and a perfect oasis. The theaters are decadent. Productions at the Vivian Beaumont are lavish and spare no expense. Ive had the honor to see both The King and I and My Fair Lady here so far.

Love coming here hope they open back up soon.

It’s gorgeous. The iconic water pond. The beautiful chandeliers. Unique architecture. Lovely restaurant, and wonderful ambience. Tourist from all over come here. It’s always busy and bright. Sometimes you’ll see a famous dog, MrPancake!

Came to see the magical flute play. Very nice show and well done. Staff is friendly and helpful. Great venue for theatre plays etc. Very elegant arena and place.

This was one of this best shows I have ever seen. “My Fair Lady. The girls are still talking about this show today. The facility was very clean and neat. I love the women’s bathroom, it was very unique. Inside the theater we had an excellent view. It wasn’t a seat in front of the stage, but the way they have designed the theater made each seat great. The staff was very helpful, they will assist you if you need help to locate your correct seating. We will definitely return again.

Lincoln Center is just beautiful. I love the architecture of the buildings and grounds. That alone is enough to enjoy walking around the facility or sitting down taking it all in. The sculptures are new to me and I think theyre some of the most interesting and alluring. Oh, and the giant chandelier in the main opera house is spectacular.In all, its a peaceful, clean and delightful place to visit. Im very glad its right here in New York City. I must remember to take pictures!

A gorgeous opera house situated on tranquil and beautiful grounds. This place is really a reminder of the emphasis and investment that New York places on and within the arts. We saw Wozzeck in German and the MetTitles made it a great experience.

The whole complex is quite impressive, even in a very cold winter night which was the case for us tonight. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the rendition of My Fair Lady at the Beaumont Theater. Compared to some of the other theaters closer to the Times Square it is a much more spacious venue. However it is a bit out of the way so you may need to figure out some sort of transportation when the weather is quite cold.

I loved coming here to see Tchaikovskys No.5 when I was in town. The hall is massive, beautiful, and clean. The staff were very professional, and the experience was amazing. The halls acoustics were also fantastic. Definately catch a symphony down at the Lincoln center.

I saw the Budapest Festival Orchestra at Geffen Hall. While the venue is great and the performance was great, I was really surprised at the behavior of people around me. One persons phone rang during the performance, another person was on her phone multiple times, people were switching seats. Overall it seemed like a low level of respect for the performers and people who genuinely attended to hear the music. Hopefully that was an uncommon occurrence.

This is like being asked to rate Central Park or Trafalgar Square - what we say will make not enhance nor diminish this awesome institution that’s bigger than Google, TripAdvisor, etc. Lincoln Center Out of Doors had a screening of “Liza with a Z” (look it up!) and we came with friends to enjoy the free screening. What a lovely gift to the community. As is the fountain, which, at night, goes from merely stunning to downright magical with the water dancing in the lights. Wow...

Saw The Nutcracker here and it was fantastic! The theatre is so beautiful. The production was so well performed and the sets are beyond belief. Its a must see for sure!

Amazing venue! I saw the NY Philharmonic here, and I thought it was gorgeous. The plaza is super clean and well kept. I really enjoyed seeing the fountain lit up at night. I’ve been here a bunch of times just to look around, but I finally saw a show here and I was really glad about that. Definitely want to go back again sometime soon.

Wonderful place. I love the location and surroundings. I have never had anything but a great experience here for a show or for anything else. It’s well run and the staff is always organized and courteous. I also like the architecture and appreciate having a place like this within driving distance so I can visit fairly often at least a couple times a year.

Lincoln Center truly is a magical place to see music and performance art of any kind. The view is great from any seat, the acoustics are excellent, and there is always something interesting on the events schedule for everyone.

Beautiful water-fountain in the middle. Picturesque especially on a day its not crowded. Next to multiple theatre halls and an outdoor area where bands often play.

We visited NY with the sole reason of going to The Met. What a great experience. Stunning building. Great views, we had a box, which was worth it. Loved every moment. Will definitely be going back

My first ballet happened to be the Nutcracker at the Lincoln Center so now Im spoiled for life. The building is exceptionally inspiring and fitting for NYCs premiere performing arts. Im excited to return for more performances.

Lincoln Center Out of doors is a wonderful free event running from July 24 - August 11. So many great performers.Be prepared for very long lines and limited stage seating. You can hear from everywhere and sit on the planters.There are several concession options.

I think its better to visit at night so you can see lots of lights. There is not much spots to sit, instead there is a small grassy hill to have a rest

Love the outdoor plaza and park in the summertime with the free concerts and dance performances and the Midsummer Night Swing. Love the atmosphere of Alice Tully Hall as well. And the fountain and the outdoor grassy area on the Hearst Plaza and the sculptures

It’s still the best place to be! Very clean, well organized. Buy a Binoculars theater glasses if you get a balcony (even if I found it useless as the sound is perfect)

Great spot for catching up with someone with some nice scenery, and possibly free shows to check out nearby. Nice in the day time as well as the night. Can absorb alot of the energy of the great minds that have passed through this place, and refocus yourself as well if youre just chilling.

This stark arrangement of gleaming modernist temples houses some of Manhattan’s most important performance companies: the New York Philharmonic, the New York City Ballet and the iconic Metropolitan Opera House, whose lobby’s interior walls are dressed with brightly saturated murals by painter Marc Chagall. Various other venues are tucked in and around the 16-acre campus, including a theater, two film-screening centers and the renowned Juilliard School.

Came to enjoy the Opera. Was a lovely experience, the seats have different subtitle options and the visibility was great even at the back of the room. The production was out of this world. We saw Figaros Wedding

Very quite and romantic setting for two or if your a group even better. Love the ambiance and open feel of the place. You can see the kitchen and chefs whip up their master pieces, and the open bar section is great. Everything about this place was a great experience. I had ordered something that wasnt to my tasting and the staff and chef made it a point to accommodate me and my guess with a complementary dish as a great way to satisfy and offer excellent customer service. Lincoln Restorante is now on my list of special places to take guess out while in the city.

One of the worlds greatest places to see top end performances. Whether its ballet philharmonic or Opera Lincoln Center is the place to go in New York for culture. The architecture may not be your cup of tea though some love it the spaces are huge. But the talent is also top of the line

A wonderful collection of performing arts spaces ranging from the home of Metropolitan Opera to the various smaller spaces for theater and chamber music. Beautiful during the day or night to just steel through and explore the various views.

Saw the Paul Taylor modern dance company here the other night, it was spectacular. Great show for anyone looking for some dance therapy!

Very good performance by the philharmonics. Very short performances though. Not what you are used to when you are from Europe and the quality is not comparable. All in all would recommend if you are in New York for a longer period.

Visiting the iconic Lincoln center makes you feel like standing in the center of the performing arts world. With world renowned organizations such as New York Philharmonic, Metropolitan Opera, New York City Ballet and Julliard School to name a few calling it home, you just admire in awe, the socio-cultural significance of Lincoln Center. The 3 main buildings are exquisite and the plaza with its iconic fountain in the middle is always a refreshing sight for your eyes.

Still the culture center of NYC The prison house of music. New music is not getting any commissions and its concerning for the future of the arts. Mostly a preservation of the establishment. New music for now audiences is the only hope for the future. I love Lincoln Center. And I dont want it to go away anytime soon. Living composers can save the legacy of only for the programming will keep up with the generations.

I have enjoyed the Lincoln center every single time I have gone . Being at the premiere of Escape at Dannemora and after party was an amazing experience . I’ve heard actor talks , listened to fantastic music and seen some really good movies . All of the staff is top notch. Clean and polished set up here . Never disappointed.

The ballet was nice and it was a different experience since I have never been to Lincoln Center before. However, we felt really unwelcomed as soon as we entered the theater. Staff members were extremely snooty. The entrance process was hectic and too crowded. I honestly prefer Broadway 100x more.

Went for Swan Lake Ballet show here. Gorgeous Metropolitan House just blew my mind away. Swarowski crystal chandeliers and ceiling is 24 karat gold. Seating capacity is 1500. Loved it.

Amazing venue for operatic performances! I wish I could attend more shows here but its not terribly convenient to me. Definitely worth the trouble once in a while, though.

More than great architecture. More than incredible performances. Dance,drama,music, color, laughter and tears. Summer under the sky...our family has enjoyed at least half a century of classics and experiments all within an easy walk. They dont come any better.

Stunning center for the performing arts. Make sure that you know what event center to go to because there are a few performances going on at once. They could have better cocktail service. Lines are long and slow.Pro Tip: you can take your drinks into the theater only if they are covered. That means you need to buy the souvenir sippy cups, not the regular cups

A phenomenal place to take in a show this legendary venue offers its patrons the opportunity to immerse themselves in all things theater. Take a tour of the expansice 16 acre facility, take in a show, or take to the architectural and horticultural beauty that is the Laurie M Tisch illumination lawn there truly is something for everyone at the worlds largest performing arts center.(The included photos are from Bartlett Shars revival if Lerner & Loewe’s MY FAIR LADY which was held in the Lincoln Center Theater. With an expansive stage there really is not one bad seat in the house)

Its the Mecca for music lovers, but individual groups have their own memberships and web sites redirected from the homepage of Lincoln Center. Wish all could be better integrated under the same roof. Many membership programs are not well executed. For example, the membership number for its Great Performers subscription is only listed in a snail mail, not on the membership card itself. Also, cannot opt out the matketing purpose from preventing your personal information to be used or sold by third parties while answering the after-concert survey.

I saw the a performance of Jane Eyre. I was in the dress circle and the view of the stage was excellent.

The Met Opera house is very disappointing. The space is grossly outdated - very tight, uncomfortable, worn out. The entrances are ridiculously small for the number of people the hall is expected to accommodate. The common area is dangerously inadequate. I think this building is an architectal disgrace and in fact presents a public safety risk.

There is only one Metropolitan Opera House. It is an experience. Under the leadership of General manager Gelb, a lot of the operas have been updated with new exciting sets. As an example, go see the wonderful production of Rigoletto. You will not regret it.

The Lincoln Center is one of the most underrated places in New York City. The Metropolitan Opera, The New York Philharmonic and The New York Ballet each provide a unique experience tailored to specific interests, and there is something for everyone. The Josie Robertson Plaza is a great place to hang out and admire the fountain and it’s musical water show. I highly recommend everyone to watch a show at at least one of these locations.

Nutcracker Ballet was amazing and inspiring. Such fun. Kids were excellent and the adult performers were flawless. Awesome seats too.

A cultural center in the heart of NYC. We have subscriptions here to the NY Phil and enjoy the proximity to so many great restaurants in the area. Its a visual and aural treat coming here!

Top notch. Posh. Great performances. The ticket price is worth every minute of quality entertainment. The food at the restaurant is scrumptious. There is an affordable coat and luggage check in. I paid $4 per item. Not bad.

The staff and service are awesome, but some of the carpeting could be cleaner, overall liked the performance and would recommend anyone visiting NYC to see it

Always enjoy visiting any of the theaters here The VIVIAN BEAUMONT THEATER. A thrust stage, with good sight lines and wide seats with almost enough leg room. I have seen shows from the balcony and from the orchestra section - all have a great view.

This is the view from Family Circle (seats are only $25 - $30). The sound quality is superb. Many people think you have to get dressed up, but this is not true. You can go in jeans or casual pants and a decent shirt. Sneakers and comfortable shoes are okay. Some people will be very dressed up, and that is great, but it is not required. There is a designated parking lot so you dont have to go outside. Line by line translations are on the back of the seat in front of you, so you turn it on if you need it. It takes longer to sing the line than read the line, so you can read and watch the show easily. Multiple languages are available. Highly recommend you go. It couldnt be easier or more enjoyable. Buying an inexpensive ticket is not a sacrifice! The sound quality is superb.

A first class performance center. Am a Lincoln Center Theater member. Get great prices on new shows and first choice before general public. As a wearer of a hearing aid I appreciate the automatic Tcoil connection they offer so I dont have to wear a separate device.

Make sure to take in the artwork when you visit. They have John Singer Sargeant and a glorious water fountain on the grounds.
