It was my first time here and I really enjoyed it! The secenery is quite nice, stage is neither big nor small so that you can see well from any seat, seats are new and comfortable. Theatre staff is very kind and polite.I watched Christmas in hell musical and really recommend it. It is funny, interesting, amuzing, cast is professional, good voices and acting skills. Unusual fairy tale during this holiday season :)

Great theatre and very accommodating. Youll see & hear great musicals here long before they ever make it to Broadway.

Really needs a little bit of elbow grease! NO, complete renovation since its so terribly run down and hasnt been touched for probably 40yrs. Sad and dirty.

Most recent show I saw here was Carmelina (Lerner and Lane), a little gem of a musical, beautifully presented in mufti form (meaning, in the Yorks parlance, that the actors carry binders and the staging and sets are minimal). The York is a small space, a little difficult to get to in the basement of St. Peters Church, but it has always been worth the effort in my experience.

The actors are really good and so friendly. The plays are very well done and performances are very well orchestrated. I love the snacks in the lobby, especially the salmon and dill aperture. The wine is good as well and this is a great date idea. You dont even know its not on broadway its so much fun.

Never seen a show here that I didnt love. Wish it was on the west side, but honestly, its worth crossing the island for! Jim Morgan and his team have done remarkable work here. HIGHLY recommend.

This is a gem of a space. It can be tricky to find, but the theatre itself is great (wonderful seats and sound), and they put on lovely productions!

Have been attending main stage and mufti performances at York for many, many years. Never disappointed. Also attend All Night Soul since its inception.

Do not EVER apply for an internship with this theater. It is an excellent venue, and professional in terms of performances. However, applying for jobs here is TERRIBLE. The coordinator of internships, Amber, is severely unprofessional and unable to tell you a flat out yes or no after the hiring process. She will string you along for months without a definite answer; I was a college kid just trying to see what internships were available. Because of Amber, I was waiting for a response if I got the job or not after she told me several times over the course of TWO MONTHS they were still deciding. Again extremely unprofessional. DO NOT APPLY TO AN INTERNSHIP HERE.

Great Off-Broadway experience. Save money and see shows just as good as BWay -- perhaps shows that will even make yo BWay ere long.

Hidden gem of a theater in midtown Manhattan well underneath the streets and a church! Seems to be regional theater done right under our noses. Brava!
