I absolutely love this place. I was in town about a year ago for a couple concerts and our hotel was right up the street. We ate breakfast here everyday for about a week. The coffee is fantastic, all of the food was fantastic, and the servers are happy to serve you. Went again here last week and it was still amazing. Definitely a place you need to go to while you are in the city.

Nice place.. nice vibe. Really liked the holiday decor and the holiday atmosphere. The restaurant was brimming with happy faces when we dined Friday evening.A wide range of cocktails to choose from - really enjoyed their cocktails.Food was average. Not too great. The quantity of food servings were very less. For the cost they charge us, they can certainly give more quantities.We explored both the nightclubs at around 10. Not any vibe as such. Hardly a handful of people - Just a few people dancing to themselves. May be it gets better later in the night.

Recently stopped by on a Sunday and it was empty which was great, all staff were wearing masks & they had hand sanitizer available as well... Only had a few drinks so cant speak to the food however Sunshine was an awesome bartender. Its been so long since Ive sat somewhere for a few drinks & it was nice to feel comfortable & safe enough to do so...

Excellent place for some appetizers and drinks when out late in NYC. The restaurant has the usual Mexican fare and the prices arent bad at all for the area. They make a good guacamole and an even better mojito. Service was good and they even have a dance club area upstairs if you like that sort of thing.

I visited Iguana today, 10/07/20, and I am truly not impressed. The service in this place is fantastic. The waiters are great, but the increase in price for what used to cost $16, now they are charging $26 for a standard taco. This is outrageous. They are working on what appears to be a modified menu, but I truly left unsatisfied. Also, I was only a party of 2 and they have never charged a 20% tip, I have visited this place numerous times in the past, but after this experience, I will not be returning. It’s sad because it was my favorite midtown Mexican place.

I ate here in October and we sat outside because I had brought my dog with me. They were nice enough to even bring him a plate and allow him to sit on the chair as well. My dog is trained well and they even allowed him to take a walk around inside whilst I went to use the restroom. Very accomodating people and would come back if the food was good. On the other hand the drinks arent bad at all. Come by if youre walking around town and need a place to rest and rehydrate. Very nice service people and tasty drinks.

Had a fabulous recent Monday night listening to the wonderful jazz played by Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks. A mere $20 to get in, a TexMex (what is that? we dont do it in Oz) meal, and then I was simply enthralled as these amazingly skilled musicians played me back into the 1920s and 30s. What a marvellous New York memory to treasure!!

I have only given a couple of Five stars. This place had good to more then good food. The drinks were correct and full of what you pay for while maintaining a great taste. The service was spot on, being attentive to the changes to the table while not being annoying. This would have deserved four stars, but the extra attention given by the staff pushed them over. Come for a good meal, bring people you want impress, bring families, bring a romantic prospect. Great place. Worth it.

The food and service are both very good. They also have salsa dance classes and bar with DJ on the other floor which is cool.

It was pretty good, met an old friend there in town for a meeting. We had some apps, and then I had a chicken fajita, he had a steak. Had a couple of mule cocktails. Waiter was friendly. My friend paid the bill, so I cant speak to the prices. All in all, nothing to write home about. Went to the downstairs dance area to use the mens room and it smelled like a musty basement in the dance area. Close to a parking deck, so easy parking. New Courtyard by Marriott hotel just across the street too, so this is convenient to that, and probably a lot better prices than dining in.

The food was nasty and they refused to take it off the bill. None of the food was good and we only wanted two things removed . The coconut shrimp were $18 (for 4) and were severely over cooked and over breaded. The chipotle mashed potatoes were unseasoned and dry. Would never go back or recommend!

I went here for a birthday party. We were down in the lower level. The drinks were good. The restaurant says is has a dress code but it wasnt really enforced. They have a coat check. $3/item. $15 cover charge after 9pm. Id probably go again. For dancing and drinks, their food menu looked too overpriced.

This is a great spot for dancing, and some drinks that are not margaritas because their margaritas are not the best, not flavor, watered down, too much mix. I would not recommend anyone to go here for food, the food was super bland, no seasoning, and not flavorful at all. We had the enchiladas and it tasted very bad. Also had the fried Ice cream that was NOT at all fried, just covered in the cornflakes not fried and it tasted bad also just regular icecream, false advertising. I paid for the 3 course meal and I would not recommend it. But the whole atmosphere is great, music was good, the staff is very nice, attentive, and courteous ! Pre-game before coming here and eat for sure before coming here.

Good food and buss staff alway clearing plates and refilling drinks. The waiter service was a little slow. The mariachi band was a nice added bonus.

The live Mariachi band and the rustic decor adds to the charm of great Mexican food. Guacamole and the nachos are a must try and food overall was good. There is also a Salsa dance club upstairs that you can get into by showing your dinner receipt.

They have good music and salsa nights, thought I wouldnt go there to get neither food nor well drinks. Either go for whiskey or tequila, besides their humongous size of food portions are unnecessary I would rather say quality over quantity, if you are paying the prices for the dinner at least it could be a bit better or maybe that was just my experience. Drinks and music its a better idea than dine in. Overall, not too bad not good enough either. Hopefully when I come back service will be better(I hope so).

Ordered the Dibi with lamb , it was delicious . The onion sauce tasted really good however when combined with lamb meat , I couldnt taste any flavor of the lambmeat . 3.5 for me

Went there for dinner and salsa on a Friday night. The food was pretty good, the service was phenomenal. However, the music upstairs (where is supposed to be Latin mix of salsa, bachata music and other) was so loud it hurt to be on the dance floor. Also the choice of music wasn’t good for dancing and there were only few people on the dance floor. It was also impossible to talk, due to loud music.I recommend it for food, but not for salsa.

This is a great place. It has great food and great drinks. It is quiet and there is always space at the bar. There is live music on the lower floor and the general ambiance is great for its location.

Was terribly disrespected by the staff!!....The bouncers thought it was best to kick me and my friends out instead of a woman whom jacked my seat twice and threw a drink in my face! When trying to video tape the situation, one of the bouncers attempted to grab my phone and break it in my hand, with such strong force, that I now feel I need to go get my hand checked out from a doctor!! I have enjoyed this venue in the past but will unfortunately “NEVER” return and will discourage anyone I know to stay away from this venue!!!

Good food but their hours are unreliable. Weve shown up twice during open hours and they told us they were still closed. Todays excuse, the cashier didnt show up. Last time, they didnt realize they should be open. Frustrating to say the least.

The food was alright, but the service was especially slow and I didnt really feel all that cared for. We got our appetizers after the couple next to ya, who had arrived after we had, was finishing up their desserts. We had to flag down several other servers to get drinks or refills on chips since it took about a full hour and a half to see our appetizers. The food itself was fine, nothing spectacular. I wouldnt eat here again. I just enjoy the dancing upstairs. Even then, though, the doorman was especially rude and aggressive. Normally, I wouldnt mind but he almost forced us to check our coats only to use the restroom. He did so twice. Honestly, its not even worth it. I probably wouldnt come back.

Great place for Tapas and drinks with friends after work. Its walking Distance from 1 A B & C trains. I love their happy hour specials and drinks and food are very affordable on regular menu. Offers two different types of music/vibes. Throughout the night 3 level atmosphere. upstairs and the basement have Dancefloor and bar. The Main level is the Bar /resturant for a more conversational setting to hang with friends and coworkers over great appetizers/drinks.

Although our service started out fine , it became increasingly slow as time went on. We had to flag someone down at the end just so we could pay and get out of there. There were a lot of large parties so it may work out best for those situations. Food, drinks and price were all fine just really bad service.

Margarita flavors are delicious and creative! You could stay all day trying new flavors! Bartenders and staff are all very friendly and accommodating. Great place to stop for drinks and a few bites to eat. Stays true to the name iguana

Had such a great time here. Went here to help celebrate my friends birthday. The food was great but the atmosphere and dancing was wonderful!!! Will definitely be going again, but this time will bring some flat shoes so my feet can rest after all that dancing!!!

Good vibe for a networking or friends gathering. Good food, drinks and service. Very loud so not really the type of place Id choose for a family gathering.

I like to take my wife dancing at Iguanas. Great place. Early in the evening is never too crowded. We went on Saturday thinking wed be able to start dancing early, but found out that dancing on the weekends starts at 9pm :-( We were bummed, but dinner was delicious, as always. I now owe my wife the dancing part on a not too distant Friday evening.

Good environment. We went to celebrate birthday party and I enjoyed the layout and the concepts the bars and dancing areas. Good music and a good time. That said, I find that the food is insanely over priced for someone who likes value for their money I dont think Ill come back for the food. This may also have been an isolated incident but out party was there until closing time up until they were still selling drinks but when closing time came the security guard was pushing all the patrons to finish their drinks so that he could go home. That was kind of a bummer but I wouldnt judge this place by the actions of the one security guard.

The food is OUTSTANDING!! And the staff are very rssponsive and friendly! We enjoyed it enough to visit two nights in a row They should have an L.A. location. Can I give 6 stars because of Chip and Carlos?

I had an awful experience at this place. First of all, staff is super unprofessional, the drinks are overpriced and you have to ask for prices because is not in the menu which could be anything the bartender want to say ($18-$20 dollars for a tiny cup full of ice that looks like children birthday cup), the security is not well trained as he approached me and my girlfriend asking her for her ID twice and when we asked why he is checking again (he already did it when we went upstairs to the second floor) he stayed quite and did not give us a response. When my girlfriend asked again, he still not responding until she asked to speak to the manager and he send her to the bathroom, really!! When we got to talk to the manager he said to us that he confused her for someone else from couple of days before!! really! you do not see this kind of event in a quality service spot. the bartender was super rude as I didnt order drink for myself (I dont drink) but only for my girl hoping we were going to consume and spend money. In conclusion, I highly recommend not going to this place if you want a quality service and you know what quality is for your money as security is unprofessional, drink are overpriced and manager doesnt know how to handle complaints and service customers. This is a SCAM! when it come for your money, you better go to a 5 start hotel bar or rooftop for drinks and music and still not reach the prices of this place. Unbelievable, never again....

It was ok. the DJ didnt have good transitions going into new songs. The crab cakes were a total rip off! $18 for 2 thin silver dollar sized crab cakes and a spoonful of corn salsa! And there werent anything to rave about. The atmosphere is good after it starting getting busy.

Delicious Tex-Mex, Steaks and Burger for a reasonable price. No need to waste money for the Empire Steakhouse opposite to Iguana.Ask for a fresh Guacamole (16$). They prepare it directly at your table. Its worth the money.

I truly dislike giving low ratings to restaurants (having been in the restaurant business myself) but I was truly disappointed. Our server was not that great, we had to wait a while for her to get our drinks (they had 4/5 tables max), when we asked for our check we had to ask 3x. The food was bland, and left us waiting more flavor. I will say the drinks were well mixed. Overall, not worth the price, better off finding a different location.

Great place to dance to a good variety of music. A bit small, mixed age groups which is nice. There is coat check Fri/Sats. Latin music on 2fl, Mix of English music on Lower level floor. Fun place to visit and ladies are free all night.

My wife & I found this place by chance, but were very happy we did as it just made our Friday night. Really nice food and because it was Hapy Hour, medium priced drinks.

The place was average it has a nice interior for this time of the season, the service was good the bartender was paying so much attention to us maybe bc we are not regulars so she focuses more in the group of people, I had to make eye contact so she should know I was ready for food or for a drink, she made good margaritas for my friend and the negra modelo on tap was good, we got steak quesadillas the came fast and they were good, I’ll come back again maybe the service can be improved a little bit more but good place.

I try to visit every time Im in the city. Waiter was PHENOMENAL with kids, amazing food and potent margaritas, dont miss out!

The bartender charged me 76 dollars for 4 margaritas with 10 oz plastic cup & house tequila, I was like for real? I understand it’s the city but I can get better drinks & service for that price.. ladies & gentleman think twice before you go there, besides the food it’s okay nothing special.

This place makes margaritas and mojitos RIGHT! They have the most flavors of any place Ive been in NYC, something for everyone. The food is so tasty, I think sometimes there should be beds upstairs instead of a Club lol. When you are done dinner head upstairs to the club to dance those calories off!

Food was great, but very pricey. Mexican food has the lowest overhead, which would suggest that the price of each plate should be lower than italian or american plates at competitive restaurants. I understand the price of manhattan factors in, but it still was a bit higher than I anticipated. With that being said, the food was great, atmosphere was immersive, and the service was great.

If I could give 0 stars, I WOULD. Don’t come here for Latin nights on Thursday. The coat check girl ripped by knit sweater & the manager was so disrespectful about. They have a sign that says ‘mandatory coat check’ so I followed & got a ripped sweater. He then paid me($20) for my sweater & then tried to keep it. Forced me to leave with no sweater in 30 degrees weather because they ‘have’ to keep it the manager is rude. Don’t support rude businesses. there are BETTER places.

I came here with a large group and they were very friendly and able to accommodate us on short notice. Good was great, service was great. They had free salsa dance lessons upstairs and a night club downstairs.

The visit to this restaurant was a very unusual experience to say the least. The service was terrible. We ordered Filets and it was very bland, cooked incorrectly and overpriced. Drinks were never offered and we had to run down someone to get them and then the drinks were not refilled. I actually had to get up and go to the bar and ask for refills. We spoke with Manager finally after first being told he was gone for the night. Terrible Experience and I will not ever return and would recommend everyone else avoid this restaurant at all cost.

My colleagues and I had a really good time there. The atmosphere is really nice. The Spanish music floor is really good if thats your thing. It does get crowded though. Drinks are OK, and cheap. Maybe next time Ill try the restaurant side to see how the menu goes.

Iguana never disappoints for a good meal. We started with a perfect size appetizing serving of tortilla chips and a delicious salsa with a bite. I’ve been to some Mexican houses in the city where this is a payed item. Not here. While my companion drank beer I had one of the many choices for a flavored Margherita. Although I ordered raspberry my billsuggested it might have been strawberry. No worries for me I still enjoyed it. I decided to switch out my regular order of fajitas and tried the shrimp enchiladas. Very scrumptious. A melding of a light green sauce and a creamy white and although I have no idea what they actually were I can say that I cleaned my plate. Topping the 2enchiladas was a sprinkling of crab meat. The dish came with a large side of rice, black and brown beans. My companion also cleaned his plateof combo burritos. Our server Jesus was friendly and efficient and the decor/ambiance very comfortable. With all the amazing places to try anew in this city this one just keeps drawing me back. As we were leaving I heard another customer, upon entering, state “you can’t go wrong at Iguana”. I have to agree! At 5 of 4pm we were charged dinner menu prices. Just a wee bit more then lunch (I don’t know if portion sizes aredifferent). With 20% tip we were in for just over $100.

Great restaurant with two other floors to dance. The two other levels have different theme parties. The customer service was great! I really loved my visit to this lounge.

In terms of food.... Large portions. Standard in its category.But I have yet to try a salsa event. I feel they are more known as a dancing venue than for their food.

We made a reservation in advance, so Im not sure if that would be necessary, but probably advisable; we arrived around 5:30 on a Wednesday and there were available tables, but tables started to fill up as we received our appetizers. The service was fast, and our servers were very attentive. Our food came quickly and was all incredible, especially for the price! Our water was never more than half empty and someone was always nearby to fill it, which was much appreciated. Dessert was fantastic as well and there were several options. I also loved the atmosphere. I will definitely dine here again in the future and strongly recommend it to others.

I was suprised to see some interesting things on this menu. I ordered chorizo taquitos and chalupitas stuffed with shrimp and crabmeat. As you can see taquitos and chalupitas look exactly the same. This place is rated $$ but if u ask me it is $$$. Every appetizer was $15 on average and each entree $25. The shrimp and crabmeat chalupitas were good. And so were the chorizo taquitos. Served HOT and flavorful. The restaurant is large and can be a bit noisy but to me all that means is that people are enjoying themselves.

$65 (3 margaritas, and a cosmo)DECEITFUL $15 “dance floor” entrance fee and $5 mandatory coat check. We approached the manager who said, “the papers are posted, and you can see it on our website”. Checked their site, no indication of fees.Yah, no thanks never again.

The complimentary chips and salsa was a great start. The nachos and the tacos al carbon were really good.

I used to come here for happy hour, which Im sure is still fine, but todays lunch was HORRIBLE. There were only 3 tables of people total and the service took over 35 minutes for someone to take our order. Then it took another half hour for it to arrive and it tasted terrible! I got the steak tacos al carbon and it was lacking everything. They basically cut up a steak and wrapped it up in a flour tortilla shell. No flavoring whatsoever. I shouldve just ordered a steak. Very disappointed and will NEVER return for food.

Terrible venue and terrible staff. There was practically no one inside and they had people in line as if this club was something located on south beach. Very disappointing how they treat their customers. The music they played also wasn’t that great. Honestly it makes sense why it was as dead as it was. Should’ve taken that as a hint to what it would be like. Do yourself a solid and find another club.
