The sake ninja was awesome and the beer keep flowing and flowing. Crowd participation makes it a great time. Photos and videos are welcomed.Overall: 10/10Id definitely come back

Hilariously funny and great sushi! If a crazy Japanese Game show had a baby with an improv show, this would be their love child. Get your tickets early as they tend to sell out. Great for parties, birthdays and friends night out.

The concept here is very creative and unique: a Japanese game show- styled performance centered around the improvisational skills of four actors. Those who perform well are rewarded, and those who do not are punished in comical ways. The show also includes audience participation, if you volunteer. While I loved the idea, and Batsu does a create a fun environment, I just dont feel it was worth the price tag: $40/ ticket. The performances were okay, and although I did laugh, I didnt laugh enough to justify the price. The set design, costumes, and punishments could use an upgrade. Overall, I think its a great concept, but could use some tweaks to make it a go-again experience.

Cheap quality sushi, overpriced. Had my stomach bubbling the duration of the night. The improv comedians were bottom tier. It only seemed funny/fun to the college coeds in the front and right side of the table area. Everyone in the audience my age and up seemed to have minimal fun. Wont be wasting that money twice.

WOW! What a show. So much fun... so entertaining, seriously have to give a shout out to the performers they absolutely bust their tail to give you a good time (literally in some cases). Food was great.. the meat skewers were grilled to perfection. This is a perfect date night or small team outing or birthday spot. 10/10 will be back.

The best comedy show you will see in NYC, bar none. If you are taking someone who seems skeptical, they will come out wiping their tears of laughter away, guaranteed. If an episode of Whose Line is it Anyway? had a baby with one of those Japanese torture game shows you see on Youtube, Batsu! is what would show up.You will enjoy the experience even with the cheaper general admission tickets, as the room isnt huge so you wont feel at all detached from the show. But I recommend the VIP tickets with visits from the Sake Ninja if you want the full experience. As a bonus, the food (which comes from the Sushi restaurant upstairs) is also very good!

Batsu NYC is a must do and see! We came here and didn’t know what to expect. We had purchased the $60 tickets which gave us unlimited sake and show entrance. The show was interactive, entertaining, fun, and kept us laughing the whole time. If your a brave soul they do come around before the show to ask for volunteers. We also ordered some food and drinks which were good. Except the mojito that I ordered was far from a mojito. The staff were exceptional, friendly, professional, and did a phenomenal job.If you want something fun, different, and exciting to do for an event or just a date this is the perfect thing. We will definitely be returning back!!

Talent of group was impressing....but please remove the punishment part that really make your comedian hurts... this is wrong and i cant understand people sees this as something funny and joyful and this just spread wrong message. Someone getting hurt shouldnt not be a tool to make other people laugh... this is not right.

Not for everyone. Experience gets ruined if you are seated in the reject corner where you are blocked by every other table. The bigger parties were often rowdy and the show was catered to be a private show to these tables than the overall audience. Could have been much better, just depends on where youre seated.

Have you ever seen that Japanese game show parody on Family Guy? Well, thats really the best way I can think to describe Batsu. Definitely super unique and hilarious, this is an experience like no other that youll find (even in the ridiculous-ness that is NYC). Located on the lower level of a sushi restaurant, the show starts at 8:00pm on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.Youll laugh, youll cry (from laughing), youll get drunk. I would say that this is something that is more fun when done in a larger group but its really good for any occasions. They have both large and small tables so Im sure they can accommodate a party of any size. Depending on which package you get, someone from your party can also participate in the game which makes it all the more epic and memorable. Go for the headbands as well! Its totally worth it for the (pretty much) unlimited sake and you can bring it back any time to either this location or the one in Chicago. Everyone that I saw there was wearing the headbands so Im assuming that its a no-brainer.The tickets are pretty pricey but its really only a little bit more than what youd pay for a typical night out in New York. The food and drinks are typical NYC prices, so no surprises there.

The hosts really love improv comedy and excel at it. You start routing for the four warriors and before you know it everyone is chanting Batsu and raising their Sake cups yelling Kanpai. Buying the Bandana for 15 bucks is totally worth it.. got so much free Sake and re-usable.

A really cool experience; I think my cheeks still hurt from laughing so hard. Without spoiling too much, Batsu is an improv Japanese game show. The contestants participate in different challenges (like chugging a beer and pushing a ping pong ball into a cup) and the loser gets punished. Appropriate given the Japanese word for punishment is Batsu.I came here as a party of 6 on a Friday night on the VIP package ($60 includes a headband and unlimited free sake for the entire night) and had an amazing time. The games were hilarious and the punishments even more so (and sometimes disgustingly cringe-worthy on purpose, just the way I like it hah). There is the opportunity for audience participation as well, but make sure you get there early and sign the waiver!Overall, I think this is a great way to spend a few hours with your group of closest friends, laughing the early evening away. Come here with an empty stomach and an appetite for laughter!

BATSU is the best thing you can do with a group of friends or a unique and silly date. I just went this past weekend as part of a Bachelorette Party, and Im so glad we chose BATSU!
