This was literally the best tour I have ever been on in my life. Jacob was so detailed and so knowledgeable I learned more from this house in the city than I did at any of the plantations or other museums we visited on our trip to New Orleans please do yourself a favor and ask for Jacob

Excellent tour with a guide who cared about the house and its history. The house needs some TLC still, but it was a good tour never the less. We were not allowed to take photos inside the home. Only outside.

The Hermann-Grima house is a beautiful property with tons of history of the families who lived in there and 1800s culture.

Mary gave an insightful and detailed tour! You’re able to see the well-decorated rooms in the main house as they transition through different eras of time as well as the outdoor spaces (servants quarters, kitchen, laundry). An INCREDIBLE must see hidden gem!!!

We toured the Hermann-Grima house first because of my obsession with 1800’s history and buildings, and second because of part of American Horror Story: Coven being filmed here. Our guide was so knowledgeable and he engaged us in learning about the history of the home. For whatever your reasoning may be, I highly recommend this tour.

Hermann-Grima House820 Saint Louis StNew Orleans, LASpectators note this 18th-century home for its expansive outbuildings and courtyard. It is furnished with mid-19th century antiques, and nearly a third of them belonged to the Hermann or Grima families.

My guide, Mary, was not only a good presenter and was very well informed, but was thoughtful in her answers to questions. Not at all a canned guided tour.Im surprised that guidebooks give more prominence to the Gallier House than this one as I would have thought that this one was more historically interesting.

They offer a guided tour starting on the hour, group size is only 3-7 people per tour. Very intimate knowledge of the family history, the guide spoke of them as if she were speaking about her own family. The passion she had for the topics was beautiful and inspiring.Youll get to see period correct pieces throughout the estate, and about 40% is actually original to the family.Walking from room to room you start to get a sense of what it might of been like living in the 1800s, as the enslaved and the super wealthy. Very emotional.Theyve done a great job preserving and presenting the authenticity of the house and its history. If youre visiting New Orleans, its absolutely worth the time and money. Entire tour took about 50 minutes and ended in a cute gift shop!

A fun place, but clearly not a good enough set of guides. our guide ignored mostn questions. the musical instruments are in horrible condition, and the music played from the speaker is from the wrong time period is performed poorly on a piano, not a pianoforte. the timeline is unstable, some rooms are suddenly 1920s with 1930s technology.

We came here for a wedding and the house was a beautiful location to have it. The views are not optimal, but its about the Bride and Groom and getting the best pictures, which this location definitely offers. Space was tight as well, but overall, it was a great location with great history and beautiful scenery. Besides the views and tight space, my only complaint would be the Bourbon street noise, but there isnt much you can do about that. We would like to come back sometime and see the other parts of the house besides the courtyard.
