Pretty great experience. They are taking COVID-19 seriously. The theater seats were 6 ft apart and then required people to wear masks. They offered us King Cake to go along with ticket entry which was tasty.

They show a Short video, then explain the artist area. You walk through the artist area as they are making statues and floats. $15 is a lot but it is great to be up close to the statues and floats. Fun gift shop too.

5* because it was obvious that they had to put some restrictions in place for COVID19. If this tour was as is all the time, Id be disappointed at the price and rate it at 4*.Short 15 minute video talking about the history of Mardi Gras, the Krewes, the Super Krewes, and Kerns impact on Mardi Gras. Very informative, add in the fact that you get to see how the artists do their magic, the floats at rest, and you can really get a feeling for how Mardi Gras is created.Suggestion, maybe have a float that visitors can walk up and onto, just to get a view behind the wall where the Krewe stands.

Great tour! The guide was very informative, we had the oppratuniuty to try some king cake. It was really neat getting to see the process of how the floats are made, and getting to be up close with them. It is cheaper to take one of the free shuttles, if not it is $15 dollars to park in front.

Neat little paid tour through the design shop that starts of with a video on Mardi Gras and a taste of king cake. Preview some of the in progress builds, see how floats are broken down and upgraded, and keep an eye out for interesting characters tucked in everywhere!Lot parking is available for a flat rate of fifteen right across the railroad tracks, but you can also take a shuttle or try your luck with street parking nearby.

Enjoyable tour. I was hoping they would get more in-depth about some of thier sculpting and molding process but it is geared towards the general public and younger audiences. It will give you a good Mardi Gras flavor anytime of the year (and a little bite of king cake). The tour is really quite hot in the middle of summer.

It is just amazing what these artists have accomplished with these sculptures. The end results with the sculptures on the floats are really worth seeing and enjoying the imagination it took to create these. I really loved to see how the sculptures are created from different materials depending on its future placement and required longevity. The sculptures are also reused and it was fun to see ones with missing limbs and redone focus areas. Really a most see location in New Orleans.

If you love Madri Gras and all the floats this is a must stop while youre in Nelins. A huge warehouse of color & creativity. We visited in December so there were various stages of production going on; foam pieces just being sculpted, vintage pieces being repainted, huge flowers & butterflies completed and waiting to be added to floats. An informative and fun way to spend an hour getting up close to a part of the Madri Gras celebrations.

You claim that you HONOR(S) TRADITION in your pullout from the newspaper. In that same advertisement is a picture of your new King Kong float with riders. If you and Bacchus really honored tradition you would have kept the original Kong without riders.

Very interesting...wish we had gotten info from a tour guide. We went to the gift shop, admittedly right before closing, and the cashier kept announcing the time...5 minutes till we close, 3 minutes, 1 minute...obviously not interested in making some sales. Our tickets to this private event were very expensive...she could have been a bit more accommodating.
