Good to have a place open to take our 2 year old who loves animals. Every one was abiding to the mask rules. Walkways are one way. All the zoo employees were also cleaning surfaces and doing things correctly. Even the merry-go-round/carousel was cleaned between each ride. Some exhibits closed but it is fall. Lots of walking. Bring a stroller for the kiddos and rent a electric wheelchair from the zoo if you need one.

My wife and I decided to take our first trip to the Nashville Zoo, and it was so delightful. Seeing all sorts of endangered species of animals being well taken care of was the best part. The Zoo was laid out very well with the paths only being one way and staff were continuously cleaning. We weren’t able to see all the animals due to it being colder the day we went, but that was to be expected. I’d highly recommend the Nashville Zoo to anyone that loves animals and nature!

The zoo is gorgeous. They obviously take care to give the animals ample space, in appropriate settings, and beautiful walkways between exhibits. My only concern was with the large amount of people not wearing masks and obviously coughing and sneezing right next to us and our kid. If were getting temperature checked to go out to eat, the zoo could do that too.

Zoo management has taken lot of measures to take care of social distancing and sanitizing. Zoo is really beautiful. We get to pet kangaroos. A pretty nice zoo. I expected a few more animals, but it could be that we missed them. We didnt see any elephants or lions, but they had THE MOST GORGEOUS flamingoes I have ever seen in person in my life!!! They were so colorful! I have added a few pictures of them, but they dont do them justice. They also had an area with kangaroos where you could go in and pet them! There were even 7 Joeys there as well!It did seem like there was a lot of walking area between exhibits, where you just see trees or bamboo.

My wife and I just visited the Nashville Zoo during their reopening from quarantine and had a great time. I just realized I never left a review for this amazing place either, so I’m finally doing that here! We’ve been members of the zoo for years and have both been coming here even as kids. The growth we’ve seen in this place has been amazing to watch over the years as well. Whenever we visit it always brings back memories from fun times and there’s always something new to see no matter how many times you visit here. The animals seem to have the highest quality care they could ask for and the keepers are always eager to educate and speak about the animals in their care, too. We love coming here as often as we can and highly recommend you visit at least once whether you’re from out of town and just looking for something to spend your day doing or you’ve lived here for a while and just never got around to coming yet.

What a beautiful zoo! Love that wherever possible they have tried to pair the animals so they get some interaction.Right now it is open but you have to book your time slot in advance. Once inside there is no limit on how long you can stay barring the hours of operation of course.Kids will love all of it but of course the up close interaction with kangaroos would be top of the list. The animals were very active and its a lovely place to spend the day with family or friends. The zoo administration has done a great job trying to make the walkways and surroundings as natural as possible. It was a little bit more crowded than I would have liked and so for that reason I would recommend going on an off day instead of the weekend. That being said the zoo is struggling a bit right now and could use our support so donate or go visit but lets help this local gem.

Wonderful place to take the family for a day trip. We did not like how all the animals were not available to see. Understandably things happen, but when you pay $60+ just to walk through the gates it seems the animals the Nashville Zoo has would be available for showing. There were several animals that were sleeping or away according to the workers, at the time we were there. We even went back through to see if some animals were back or available the second time and again it was the same bigger animals that were not available. We have visited other zoos that had most if not all animals available that were advertised. The workers would interact with the animals to make them available. There was none of that at Nashville except for the kangaroo exhibit. We had a good time and it was neat and clean. Next time, we will probably try a different zoo.

Saves time and ensures they wont be sold out. Experience has you walking the zoo in a one direction loop.Keep in mind (at least when we were there) many food stalls were closed, limited animals in each display (covid related?), and some places were closed altogether.Overall an enjoyable afternoon. Lots of staff at displays for safety purposes and to answer questions. Some of the animals seemed to get fed/enrichment around 3 so we got to see the red panda and a few other critters eating.*They were having boo at the zoo after 5pm so there were lots of fun decor/displays*

We have a membership here. It’s a quiet zoo, quite a few big gaps between animals though, they could fill that in with other things. I LOVE the one way design right now, they could keep that up all year and I’d be fine with it. The mask mandate will end and I’ll be very happy to go more often.A lot of things are closed, I seen one food station open in the entire park and it is towards the exit. No access to water and no vending machines for drinks until almost at the end. I would’ve expected to see some MAJOR progress with the jungle gym area for kids, but it looks the same each time we come. I’d also expect we get more extended time from our membership because of everything closed.Staff are friendly. The carrousel and zip line are fun. Not sure if we will renew next year or not. We have to see how the play area goes with getting finished and when other things open up.... Zoo doesn’t have as many animals as we thought when getting membership, the one tiger and bears are the most entertaining part of it.Moved here from Michigan and They should take some note from the Detroit zoo.....

The Boo Zoo was a joke. A few scattered pumpkins does not make a Halloween event. Many of the decorations could have been for any childrens event. Though the walkways were impeccably clean and tidy, the insides of several enclosures were a disgrace. Cardboard boxes out in the open, scattered paper, non-native bushes and plants, broken wires. I do not think I have ever seen such large group of surly workers. No greeting at the ticket scanner. Attitude in the souvenir area. Snarles and eye-rolls from an ice cream vendor. Dont get an attitude with me that someone has a five-year old and would like a napkin. I cant help if you havent had any all day. Families were just wandering around wondering where to go without any Zoo workers for guidance all the way through the exhibit. It was like a traveling carnival event at the end of the season. Everything is a little shop-worn, it is all a little stale and the only thing the workers want is to get out of there. You know what would have been nice? Just someone saying thank-you for spending money with us. It was an embarrassment for the Nashville patrons and sponsors.

Great, low key family fun with plenty of depth. Many animals I could sit and watch for hours, and also a great place to go for a nice walk just to see which animals are putting on a show. Definitely worth getting a membership, so you dont have to force it, no need to try to get your moneys worth from a single visit or try to see everything. Just head over and enjoy yourself for a while. We get the family membership with guests, so we take the kids friends or visiting family. And we always jump on the zipline ride for a little adrenaline; included free with the membership. Certainly worth just going once, but the nature of zoos is that exhibits change by the hour and you never know what animals are going to be showing off at any point in time. We love this zoo.

A few adults with the zoo were walking around in costume. All of that was included in the price of admission except the concessions and the zip line. This is a gorgeous, really well designed zoo. We strongly recommend it if you have kids or care about the welfare of animals in captivity.Where we had trouble was with some of the narrative surrounding its history and how it was presented. Its no secret that the zoo moved to this location after a historic family sold it. You can see plaques all over one area talking about how slaves were needed, for the original farm to run. A few years ago, in 2014, many of the slaves graves had to be relocated. You would think this would be a good opportunity to show these people more respect, but instead they received regular stones as grave markers instead of any identifying or anything more presentable. Meanwhile, the masters still have an elaborate graveyard, filled with obelisks and nicely carved markers. Why not something to honour these nameless slaves who built and ran this farm? And why not a more suitable narrative surrounding them, the family that owned the land, and the farms history? It felt as though the narrative here was okay with and sympathized with these slave owners. We were glad that the historic home estate was the last part of the zoo we saw, because the rest was absolutely lovely and still very much recommended.
