A very short hike around an interesting place. I’m not sure of the history but there’s lots of signs of previous construction and dilapidated structures. The “lake” pond itself doesn’t necessarily have any place to sit by the water but rather you spend most of the time up high on top of the walls around the pond. There are a handful of benches along the trail. There is a nice overlook spot that looks onto the veterans cemetery. Hike is 90 percent cover by trees so don’t expect much breeze blowing through.

Great easy trail with minor elevation changes. Only critique is that the trail was not obviously marked. Beautiful views and a few great options for a hike.

Nice, laid back State Park. Hiked trails one day and Canoed another day. The Trails are fairly easy, Great views all along your walk, some moderate elevation changes. The River had some challenges, like Boulders slightly under the water and a couple of faster moving whitewater areas. But overall on easy laid back ride with beautiful views everywhere.

If you have never been here, I highly suggest it. You can feel the presence of years gone by in this quiet forgotten place. Lots of rellics that shows life of the past. Dont go in thinking the lake is still crystal clear and that you can swim with a clean conscious, I read other reviews where people were complaining about it not being clean enough to swim in. Well its been abonded for close to a century so what do you expect.

Super cool place. Nice little hike close to the city. Went there and relaxed and watched the sunset from a great view overlooking an open field. Will definitely be back.Only reason its not 5 stars is because you can still hear cars, but thats just part of it. Glad this place is so close to home!

This is a lovely part of the park with multiple trails, fairly easy and plenty of nature. Close enough to civilization bit far enough away to really appreciate the wilderness. Great escape from Nashville!

Beautiful trails. Heavily wooded aside from the bluebird loop. Well-maintained with any blocking trees or branches taken care of within a couple days, even after the recent windstorm. Only complaint is once you are on the trails, they are not well signed or marked. Except for a few signs showing you two options at large forks in the trail, many smaller forks or choices to change your distance with no indication of which trail he would be following. None of the trails are super long so if one takes a wrong turn, it’s not the end of the world, but it can be a little frustrating. Especially if you’re just trying to get to the lake and back.

Hidden lake is more like a pond filled with scum... no swimming...The hiking was decent. Flat easy parts good for family. Were some more remote trails with some pretty cool rocks to climb on.

A favorite place to take my son for a quick hike in the woods and is a great place to introduce kids to the joys of hiking. He loves to throw stones from the shore into Hidden Lake and we have done a polka or two up on the dance floor above the lake. The trails are pretty easy and fun but you wont find a lot of miles here if that is your thing. The place has a cool history and plenty of parking.

A beautiful place to visit. We visited narrows of the Harpeth from Nashville.  If you are looking for a quiet place with a beautiful view, this 30-minute drive outside of the city is exactly what you need. You can also visit the Hidden Lake the same day. It is also a wonderful trek in the woods. This trail was awesome. Short and sweet, has cool rock formations and a cool little history behind the lake. This honestly felt like moderate difficulty to me, though. The trails aren’t super well marked but it is still not that difficult to get around.Besides the natural beauty of the area, there is the historical significance of Montgomery Bells tunnel through the bluff that separates the harpeth from itself at a location further downstream. The tunnel is 290 feet long, and has a 16 foot drop in elevation from the upstream end to the downstream end. Built in 1819, it is the first diversion tunnel in the country. The tunnel was cut to obtain power from the river flowing through it, and powered some of his iron works. It is the only remaining part of his works in this area.We went here during late fall and the time spent here was really really wonderful.

Truly a beautiful and breathtaking sight. A Hidden Gem that I was so glad to come across. Definitely a great place to come visit. The mountain trail going all the way up was incredible. I had the great pleasure of coming here during the winter to see everything in this state. I do hope to come back again soon to see it in the summer. Definitely a great place to come with friends and family on an outing.

Hidden lake is a great little secret in West Nashville. Trails are well kept and wide for the most part. You can walk down to the Harpeth River or take a short walk to 2 hidden ponds/lakes in the area. Both are fairly small but beautiful. The larger lake does have fish in it if you want to try your luck there. The bluff trail up and around the lake is a great view but has no guard rail so keep the pets and kids away from the edge as its quite a long fall. All in all of you are looking for a nice path less traveled this is a great one to check out.

Fun walk and hike close to Nashville. Be sure to hike up on the ridge trail. Be careful tho, its a little steep. Hidden lake used to be the site of fancy society gatherings back in the day. You can still see a concrete pad up on the ridge where the bands used to set up. Hard to imagine, but true. Just Google it...

Easy hike. Its a loop around the pond if you look for the path. It can be muddy in winter, and it can be a little low on water in the summer. You can see the river from the main trail, but its not a clear view. A little noisy due to the proximity of the road. If youre looking for isolation, this is really not the place. There are a few old structures in the vicinity, which are cool to see/explore. Its a nice little hike close to town, and its not too populated. One nice thing is that this is not a party spot - lots of families, couples, and quiet folk. Nice place for a Sunday stroll. Theres also not a lot of trash lying about. Picked up one beer can today, but that was it.

Before it was a park, I happened to find this place and I thought I had discovered something mysterious. I live nearby and about 14 years ago, I rode my bike down what appeared to be a trail into the woods. It honestly gave me the creeps - the stone house, the kerosene tank, the platform, and then . . . stairs leading to a huge hole in the ground? Wow! I remember that day every time I visit this park. Im glad it is there and that people use it. Take your friends and family and remember to leave it just like it was when you got there if not a little better. Pick up a piece of trash if you see one, please.
