We had such a lovely night to cruise up the Cumberland River taking in Nashville with a fantastic dinner show. We were entertained with such superb talent including the brown haired gal with a recurring part on the TV Show Nashville. Our cruise took place during last September during our stay. It was also amazing to note of the one of two large buoys that holds the dock in place where the General Jackson resides. If you note the white line at the top is where the Captain explained to us that back in 2012 they had a rain spell that lasted 2 days. The water level on the river rose to where the white line is! — at General Jackson Showboat.

Awesome experience! We had the most fun at dinner and watching the fun show they put on for you . We will be back!

My husband and I were celebrating our 25th anniversary. We had a great time. The entertainment was phenomenal! They were all very talented. The food (chicken cordon blue, Mac and cheese, steamed carrots, prime rib just to name a few) was delicious. The wait staff was very professional and knowledgeable of everything. Well be back.

I like it... My wife and I enjoyed it we went for the Christmas special and it was great. They show fan appreciation for a young woman who always visit every year. However it might be very loud at something during the concert performance bring headphones if you are with someone who might need it. The view for outside was great and the ride was smooth.

This was a good time. Intended more for the older crowd because theres a lot of sitting and watching. Great views and a smooth ride. The performances were good and the service was great. Food was above average. I would do it again.

Went here for a dinner cruise and show. It was amazing!!! The show was very entertaining and the food was very good. We sat at a table right up next to the stage. During the intermission, we were able to get up and move around the boat and go outside and look at the stern wheel in action. This is fun for all ages. They paid tribute to all of the Veterans that were on board which was very nice. Very touching show with phenomenal performers!! This is an experience you do not want to miss!!

It was a great experience! Everything from the boat, the staff, the food to the entertainment was wonderful! Would definitely recommend it to anyone from families with small children to seniors.

Wonderful Nashville Experience, the Showboat is absolutely beautiful and a great way to get a wonderful taste of the music Nashville has to offer. I live in Nashville, but my family came to visit and so we decided to get tickets. The food was great, and an even better show! Highly Recommend!

The weather was beautiful. We went as a group of 20. The lunch buffet was great and the show was entertaining! We cruised down the river for 3 hours. Went past downtown Nashville, saw the Titan stadium on this 3 deck paddle boat.

Such a fun way to see Nashville. The food and show were both excellent, and there was plenty of time to explore the entire boat. Live music continued on the upper most deck outside after the main show ended. Highly recommend if you’re visiting Nashville, this was a highlight for us.

This was so fun!! Ive lived here fo 20+ years and have never been on the boat before, but with family in town, we decided to give it a whirl! Very entertaining, to say the least. The show was great, table attendants were very cordial and proficient, and the meal was delicious! Overall, a fantastic experience I will definitely want to experience again!!

I had a great time on this mini cruise. The boat staff was wonder. We did the cruise where you meet the captain and take pictures and he was fantastic and patient with everyone. The food and decor was good. I really enjoyed the music show. The whole experience was wonderful and Id do it again. Highly recommend.

This place was phenomenal. We sat at the Captains table. We got to board first and we were allowed to go to the buffet first. This was nice the boat is big so lots of people. You also get a tour of the boat house. If you get a regular table you need to pay 6 dollars. The food and music was fantastic! This was the highlight of the trip!

I will tell you that you better get ready for a show to knock your boots off. Service staff is very good and highly effective. Getting to watch the skyline of downtown come into view was breathtaking. Then the entertainment that was provided is great. Dont let me waste anymore of your time now. Buy the tickets and you will never regret it!

I definitely would put this on your must do list when visiting Nashville. We went on an unseasonably hot day for the lunch time cruise, buffet style. I enjoyed my chicken, cole slaw, and baked beans. Glasses of ice tea were waiting on our table when we arrived. Cocktails and beer are available although I found them on the expensive side. Very enjoyable show, A Taste of Tennessee. There were plenty of shaded areas to sit, and the crew did an extremely good job of trying to keep the passengers comfortable despite the heat.

I knew the ride would be great, but the show and food were way better than expected. You can freely explore all levels of the boat during the trip so you’re not stuck at a seat or anything. Amazing singers!

We ended up doing the general Jackson showboat through Vacations Made Easy. They told us it would be a relatively short walk to the boat. It turned out to be about 20 minutes (which wasnt bad) but it was not pedestrian friendly. When we got on the boat we were immediately greeted by friendly staff and a delicious buffet meal. We sat right upfront during the live music show and got a great feel. The beers were incredibly expensive ($14.00 USD each) and unfortunately the captain told us last minute wed only get a your of the river without any downtown views.Overall Id recommend it, but make sure you take a car to the port and youll be getting the downtown Nashville experience.

Professional staff, and incredible food. Also was able to cater to the vegetarians in our group right on the spot. Looking out the windows and realizing we were cruising down the river was also an unforgettable experience.

We went on the midday run and it was just lovely. The staff was great, the food was yummy and the show was fantastic. Then you still have time to explore the boat and take in the scenery of Nashville from the water. It isnt cheap, but worth it if you havent done this yet.

We did the Captains table package. Well worth the extra price. We got to board first and enjoyed a cocktail and music on the upper deck. At the buffet, we also were the first to go. The food and food variety was good. The show was entertaining. The sites from the deck of the boat were spectacular. Definitely a must do.

Awesome experience! We came for the lunch cruise thinking to enjoy the views along the river. Unfortunately it was drizzling so we couldnt really be on the deck much. Water level on the river was very high so the trip was cut shorter than usual. Food was exceptionally good and the baked chicken was so tender. The apple pie was the most delicious Ive had in years! Our server, Ashraf was great, friendly and eager to please. All in all, it was a wonderful experience that we are now planning a night cruise!

Went last summer with friends from out of town and it was a blast! Great food, and we truly enjoyed the show! We expected it to be a bit hokey but it wasn’t, much to our delight!!!!

So we did the Christmas Show in December of 2019. Overall, the show was good, and the food was good, and it was definitely something a little different than the usual dinner and a show kind of evening. The view of Nashville along the river on deck is quite beautiful.Now for the parts that I did not enjoy. The line to get in seemed to take a long time. The wait at each of the bars to get drinks also took what seemed like excessive amounts of time. The buffet line was also quite long. Most of the waiting at the dinner table was ok because we had pretty good company...BUT that was by luck.My wife booked the evening for just the two of us, and it was not clear that we would be seated at a table of 10 with strangers. Now it just so happened that we all got along after the initial period of uncomfortable silence, and I think we all wound up enjoying each others company, but I have to say that was pure luck.I would have rated this review a 4 or 5 stars if my wife and I had been seated alone.

This was a good boat tour of Nashville but seemed to market more for our older folks. There was an hour long show along with lunch buffet. If you love and breathe country music then youll definitely enjoy it. If you dont enjoy country music, this might not be the best show for you. There were great scenic views of the city from the different levels of the boat. It was incredibly hot that day and we did manage to find an empty room with a/c since they closed the showroom after lunch. A three hour tour may be a bit too long for me.

We got tickets through Vacations Made Easy because this was one of the MUST DO things for me and my husband. Its difficult to get tickets so definitely book early because if you dont want to drive to the Vacations Made Easy office to pick up your tickets then you might be disappointed. I can definitely tell WHY tickets are so hard to come by -- they were amazing! Getting onto the huge boat, listening to live music and having a couple drinks, and then heading down into the Victorian Theatre for dinner. I thought wed have some sort of chicken and maybe a pork dish from the buffet, but it was Prime Rib! Everything that we ate was excellent and the service was A+. They let you take a break after eating to climb back up the decks and look at Broadway at night which was so pretty and then everyone heads back down to the theatre for the show. It was an amazing show with dancing, excellent singers, and great musicians. Loved every minute of it!

The excursion on the General Jackson Showboat could have been so much better.This was supposed to be the Maiden voyage of the newly remodeled paddle boat. But, as luck would have it one of the engines lost is cooling pump. So, we never left the dock to sail downtown to see the Christmas lights of Nashville.They offered a 100% refund for anyone who wished to disembark OR a $25.00 refund of off or $100.00 tickets for anyone who chose to stay on board for the Dinner & Show.We chose to stay on board.Where I was disappointed was when the wait staff acted as if we were running terribly behind schedule and they kept rushing each course of the meal as if we werent really supposed to have done to enjoy our meal during the Dinner Musical.The Christmas Musical was expertly crafted. Not only the vocalist with their dance skills. But, their numerous musicians with their awesome musical talents.

We took the afternoon ride. It had a country music stage show that was cool. The food was really good also and plenty. Then there was music on the top deck with a full bar. It is a real steam boat up a and down the river with great views.

Good food, good show, great views. We enjoyed Perry at the top deck piano bar the most.

Had a lovely daytime cruise down the river with family. The live show was great! And being able to sit on deck and watch the city of Nashville go by from the Cumberland was wonderful.

Funny how sometimes we all have pre-conceived expectations of certain experiences that can often be miles away from the reality. Such was the case with the General Jackson.Clearly they have an excellent marketing department, who successfully paint a compelling picture of the trip. It certainly hooked me when I was researching from Scotland and ended up booking 8 tickets at a not inconsiderable cost.The food was NOT good, and the buffet format simply left me cold. The extra cheese served by way of the entertainment was enough to send us scurrying out of the dining room to seek refuge in other parts of the boat.To be fair, once we left that behind, things improved markedly. It was lovely sitting up on deck with a cold drink enjoying the views along the river as the boat ambled its way into the heart of the city.Unfortunately, some of this tranquility was rudely interrupted with the arrival of about a dozen jet skis who joined us halfway down the river to take turns in jumping the waves created by the wake behind the boat. Suffice to say the ensuing noise wasnt the most relaxing sound!The views of Downtown Nashville from the General Jackson were great, but unfortunately not enough to wish to repeat the whole experience. One of the very few disappointments during our Nashville adventure.

Food is good - we had Turkey, mashed potatoes & green beans - not fancy but good. Not much scenery to see - some houses along the Cumberland River. Show was decent. I had a 14oz drink that was supposed to contain 3 different types of liquor ($19) which included the souvenir glass. The glass was nice (real glass), but I weigh 115 lbs & I didnt even get a buzz. I dont think there was any alcohol in there!

We had a great time. The food was good, the entertainment was great, the scenery was nice and it was just fun being on a showboat for the first time. We definite recommend it!

This was amazing beside the three hours on the boat and there is like 30 minutes of back to back country music and that was great. We got a beautiful at the end.

The show was great. Everything else was ok. The food menu was not great at all. The only drinks they had were mixed drinks, coffee and bottled water. No tea or soft drinks. They had no salad, potatoes or bread with the meal. They had grits, shrimp, ribs & some other meat. Also, there were different cheeses and an array of awesome desserts. I hope this will help anyone who is interested in going on this boat.

We joined the Captain’s tour day-of, and we highly recommend it. Beautiful boat, awesome performance, and fun way to see Nashville.

It was unexpected, sitting at a family table with people we didnt know, it was at first uncomfortable. But we quickly got to know everybody and it was fantastic. Im not a big country music fan and I enjoy the show thoroughly. I was a little apprehensive being a northerner but everybody was pleasant nice and totally accepting. I would actually do it again.

This is a great way to enjoy some good music, a scenic boat tour, some good drinks, and food is served family style. You get to sit at a table with some other people if your group is not big enough. Both times we have gone we have been seated with some great people. Show was awesome and they do make regular changes. Food was pretty good too, and if you want more just ask and they bring it out. No extra charges for more food. Drinks are a little bit higher for the first one, but are lower for each drink after that. This is because you get a souvenir glass. They are pretty nice too.

Great venue, nice food, good entertainment in the main room and the extra music upstairs afterwards was great.

We went on their Christmas show lunch cruise. The food was much better than expected and the show was equally impressive. The oddity though was the boat could have stayed in dock because by the time the lunch and show was finished we were already back at the dock.

Food was fantastic! Would go back just for the food. The boat was beautiful. Stunning. The staff are second to none, very friendly and helpful. The entertainment was fun too.

The Jazzy Christmas cruise was very nice. The entertainment was great. The food was good and we met several new friends. Very well done.

The show is in the last hour of the event is amazing !!! make sure u finish the salad and the main course really fast and head outside to the deck to view the downtown. (they will say when the show is about to start so dont worry about missing the show).

Due to food allergies, we took the cruise and show only. While the others were eating we had a extremely nice and attentive waiter for drinks and appetizer type food. The show was exciting and very well performed! We are local, but would love to take it again!

Over priced for what you get in terms of entertainment and food but if you have money to burn and want to relax on a very decent looking and well staffed ship to watch a nice show then go for it. Their fiddler is amazing. In my opinion the photos you can take are probably the best part of it short of an intimate evening with someone you love. No worries about getting seasick here if you dont look at the landscape drift by youd never even notice you were moving.

It was cool. Cost us $30 more for Captains table but we got to sit on the top deck with free drink 30 minutes before other people boarded, seated first for dinner up front for the show, private waiter and boat tour, free tshirt. No waiting at the pay bar. Convenience and free stuff worth more than $30. ARRIVE NLT 5:45 PM FOR CAPTAINS TABLE. Some at our table got stuck in crowd with regular boarders and missed out on some things because they didnt have right arrival info on Captain Table benefits

The boat was great the food was great and the show. I believe the red head with the fiddle should be the lead singer. She was so natural and had fun but the blonde was stiff and fake.

Im not big on country, but I had an awesome time. They go through a few genres of music during the show. Very entertaining. Food was good too.

Celebrated our Grandads 90th birthday with a group of all ages. Loved the food, show AND the impromptu jet ski show, following the boat, on the ride back. Definately a must do event!
