Beautiful place. Very calm and scenic. Plan to go early in the morning. Else, it gets crowded and youll need to struggle for a parking slot. Multiple trails of easy, moderate and difficult levels. Choose your trail and enjoy. Jogging or running is not allowed on the trail. Otherwise, a walk itself is quite tiring. We went on the lake trail. A must go to relax and unwind. There is no fee for entry.

This is a very popular place in Nashville. Parking is limited. When I arrived at 7 am, I got a spot easily, though. There are bathrooms in a building in the parking lot. There are at least 3 trails; the lake trail is pretty easy. There is a lot of wildlife to see. I typically see deer, squirrels, birds, and a couple of heron. One time I saw an owl.

Beautiful lake and hiking trail. It can be a bit challenging to find your way back to the car if it is your first time, dont be afraid to ask others for directions. Finding a parking spot can be a bit of a challenge too, so keep in mind. But the park is gorgeous. The trail path is soft, so its not too bad for your back and knees (if that is a concern). There are also a lot of benches around the park to rest. There are bathrooms in the entrance, too.

Beautiful state park conveniently located to Brentwood, Franklin, and South Nashville. Excellent hiking trails around Radnor Lake and up a steep bluff. In addition to the hiking trails, there is a paved road, closed to traffic, that is accessible to walkers, strollers, and wheelchairs. The park is currently building several ADA compliant bridges to provide even more access to nature. The restrooms at the Franklin Road entrance are clean and well stocked. There are water bowls available for dogs. Dogs ARE NOT ALLOWED on the hiking trails, but are welcome on the paved areas.Picnics are not allowed in the hiking areas. You will see many deer, turkeys, squirrels, chipmunks as well as various types of birds if you walk quietly through the forest.Be aware that the parking lot off of Franklin Road is small and parking on the shoulder is not allowed. Drivers have to wait until a parking spot comes available. The park closes at dusk.

We (my Boyfriend and I) moved to Tennessee from Tucson, Arizona back in October of 2019. We have slowly been exploring the different state parks around. This last weekend we came upon this gem, Radnor Lake State Park!! The trails are well maintained, well marked and the perfect distance for a couple hours of getting in touch with nature. Will definitely be visiting as often as possible.

Love Radnor Lake - Ive been coming here my entire life (over 30 years), but wanted to write a review showing a recent encounter with a couple of sparring Timber Rattle Snakes (Im pretty sure thats what they are and got confirmation from someone more knowledgeable)So enjoy the hikes!! But also respect the environment and inhabitants and keep a very close eye on kiddos you might bring with you. Even though running on and straying from trails is prohibited, it still happens, so be safe and respectful!

Having several trails and a lovely lake, Radnor park is a must visit for a nice hike. Really pretty during fall. Has trails for all levels of difficulty. Dogs are allowed on the paved area around the lake but not on the trails on the surrounding hills. Google says that it closes at 7 but it closes sometime around sunset so visit accordingly.

Such a beautiful space. The only thing is the sign says no dogs, food, running, or off trail hiking and every time we go there is all of that. Especially dogs. Today there were 3 guys with a dog and fishing poles, which again is also off limits. No big deal except that the rules are there for the safety and comfort of the animals and environment. Not to be a Karen but I hope someone starts enforcing for the sake of both.

Radnor Lake is indeed a wonderful park! I commend the efforts to preserve the ecosystem. I hope they open up more water front views! There are a few, but most are overgrown! On the north shore there are benches with open views and at the south east there is a small clear platform. It would be great if a few extra spots were opened up!

This place is an absolute delight! We went on a weekend which meant it was crowded but since this is a sprawling outdoor space it is possible to easily maintain social distancing. There are short trails of varying difficulty. You can get a map from the visitor center which houses a gift shop and educational displays about the wildlife. The restrooms are also located here and are kept clean.Remember this is a wildlife reserve so off-trail hiking is not permitted. Fishing, swimming and boating are also not allowed in the lake waters. There is a plethora of birds to keep you engaged though. We saw so many species without even actively observing. Theres deer as well and we spotted a couple grazing on the Lake Trail. There are beautiful views of the lake from the observation decks peppered along the trails and the forest is very lush even now at the peak of summer. There is an aviary education center on the premises but it is currently closed due to Corona.Parking is limited, and so, many people park across the street and then walk to the park. I would advise getting there early. We walked most of the hikes except for the Ganier Peak one and it took us about 3 hours. We stopped a few times along the way to watch the wildlife though. Excellent getaway and am looking forward to coming back.

Local here. Beautiful lake and walking trail, but its missing something. I dont know what but it seems like no one cares to put a tiny bit of money into it. Such as solar string lights hung up by the bridge, or maybe a doggie water station, or even a little dock to walk out on the lake. Or a kayak loading spot! Ive traveled a lot and even tiny towns in TN care more about their nature areas and make them super quaint, welcoming and cute.

Beautiful park, but no dogs allowed on trails. In response to their response:If I wanted to walk a paved surface, Id walk around my neighborhood. I dont bring my dog to a park to walk on a street. We come to hike trails. My review was meant as a heads up to others who may have the same silly notion to bring their animal to walk in the woods... where all the other animals usually walk...

They have lost many big trees from the last storms that came thru Nashville. There have been so many people using the park during the pandemic that the trails have grown from 3ft to now 6ft wide. They really need a program that will work on maintaining the Ganier trail. It is in really bad shape coming down the rock side of the mountain. Parking is always an issue unless you are there by 6am.

This is such a gem to have right next to the busy city of Nashville. Easy to drive to, plenty of parking. There is a smallish parking lot at the visitors center and then there is parking along the park road. There is also the East parking lot but I didn’t go there. The lake is clean and beautiful. The water is breathtakingly calm. I sat for awhile just watching the shimmering of the waves and sun.The visitors center has some nice information about history and there was a very nice lady who recommended trails and which way to go. They also have water station and clean bathrooms and maps. The Lake trail loops around the lake and it is flat and wide. Great for strollers. The Ganier Ridge trail loops off and meets back up with lake trail and takes you up the hill. If the leaves have fallen you can see Nashville through the trees. Nice hike to break a sweat and to get away from ppl. There are a few other smaller trails on the other side of the lake. I didn’t have time for those but they looked like they headed up the hill as well.Loved that there are benches all along the trails to sit and enjoy the wind blowing the leaves, watch the gentle water, falling leaves, tons of birds, and squirrels . Even saw some turtles sunbathing and some turkey vultures feeding on a dead Overall a beautiful place to visit. I spent a little more than 2 hrs here but you can do the lake trail in much less.

This was my first visit back to Radnor in 8 years. It is very well maintained and heavily trafficked. These trails are perfect for walking your dog or trail running. You can choose to hike the paved path along the lake, or there are several dirt paths off the paved path to choose from. Lots of wildlife, gorgeous views, and well maintained trails.
