Nice little beach. Great place to meet and walk around the lake. The lake itself is about 2.7 mi. The beach is currently closed for the season due to algae, but there are many other activities you can still do. There is a portable potty located across the street which makes it convenient to get to. There is no parking lot for the beach, but streetside parking is plentiful. The side streets are free and not heavily used during the day.

Great small beach on the south end of the lake. Frequented by families, small kids, high school boys, young couples. Great access to Minnehaha Parkway directly south of the beach. Plentybof walkers, runners, dogs, bicyclists through the area at peak times.

Absolutely gorgeous lake. I was visiting Minnesota. This lake is near my brothers home and I went here twice during my Thanksgiving visit to walk around it. Its so peaceful, calm and serene. I enjoyed every moment around it. My fitbit said it was 2.75 miles around the whole lake which took me 50 minutes my first day and 45 minutes my second day. I would say I had a pretty good walking speed going so if youre going for a leisure walk, expect to walk a little longer.

This is a great community beach. It is easily accessible by a great running path and a cycling trail. If you drive, there is a lot of parking along the street. The sunsets are amazing!

People of Minneapolis you should feel very lucky to have such an amazing path system around this small lake in the city. If you are from a not so bike friendly city like me, you should check it. Great place to spend a few hours relaxing by the lake and riding around it with the backdrop of the city.

Its a nice little beach. I wouldnt call the beach itself a tourist attraction, you have to factor in the whole lake to raise it to that level, including the bike and walking paths, the bandshell, canoe and kayak rentals and whatnot. Definitely a great place for all of those activities! Its beautiful there. And Ive always been amazed at how fresh the air always smells there.

This is my favorite place to swim outside near the twin cities. During the pandemic, the outer road that runs along the lake is closed for pedestrians. There was lots of parking in the outer neighborhoods though!

We drove to Lake Harriet one evening in late Sept to watch a beautiful sunset. The lake has gorgeous old homes surrounding it and ringing the lake (if thats a word) is a paved bike/running path next to the road. We sat on a bench and chatted with many people out and about. The lake is on a flight path for Minneapolis International airport so watched many airlines on approach. Lovely, peaceful setting.

Theres a good chance that when Im out running or riding that Ill pass by or stop at Lake Harriet South Beach. A lovely spot on a very nice municipal lake that you can swim, see folks in boats or wildlife. I usually see some great varieties of birds and waterfowl near here too. This whole area is clean and very well taken care of and easily accessed from the paved trail going around the lake.

A kind of cute beach...but the water is pretty murky and lots of lake weed and mud permeate the area. Beach is small...so it gets crowded pretty quickly. Some glass around...could be maintained better.

Once of the nicer beaches at the lakes in Minneapolis. Not a lot of riff raff at this beach like at some others. This one is more popular with kids and teens because of this. In the summer there are lifeguards.

What a fantastic lake. Its round and full of water! I bet there are even fish in it. Sail boats and big beautiful houses surround it, help me feel inadequate and out of place driving around it in my 1994 buick skylack my grandfather left me god rest his soul. There is a rose garden, and bird sanctuary. I also seen a turtle trying to cross the road, it was missing its back legs and I suspect it was in sort sort of squabble with a city coyote or maybe a badger...either way it was incredibly depressing and I am back to taking my zoloft because of it.

Minneapolis has a few different lakes that are very nice and several of them are all connected, but the one that is my most enjoyable to go for walks or jog around is Lake Harriet because its not so big that it takes forever and has very nice paths and the homes around there are beautiful to look at as well.

We saw the kite Festival on the ice, they had about 100 kites up in the air at one time. It was so cool. They also had a art shanty project going on where you could go through different ice houses, with different themes. They also has house wagon rides around the park. They had Smores you could roast on the many fires and food trucks to feed you. A very fun event that ill go back to. Parking was a night mare.
