Fantastic railway. Its $7 or $20 for a family. Its an amazing work of modeling and engineering skill. This is a very inspirational place for kids about 6 and up. Theres a small train store that has a good selection of parts that modelers use.

Found it very interesting if you enjoy large HO scale model railroads. Only open Saturday and Sunday from 1 until 4 September thru April. Cost $7 to get in, $20 for a family. Huge 65 foot by 30 foot layout with many trains running and huge 10 foot diameter helix that runs underneath. If you like a detailed layout, this is for you. Spent 90 minutes there and had conversations with club members who gladly answered your questions.

If you are interested in a quick look at the way Rail stations once were, are somehow fascinated with miniaturize Railroad settings, this may be a worthy place to visit. Our preteen grandkids did appreciate some aspects of it as we attended during and evening hours display. The adults appreciated the miniaturized displays, some of the buildings, and some of the trains had miniature people inside them, which aided the imagination. For good reason, however, absolutely hands off the diorama displays. And after about a half an hour, the grandkids retired to the front of the building where they have some Hands-On Thomas the Tank tracks, of the wooden variety to play with. For those with a history in trains, or real love of HO trains, theres lots of books about the history of trains, and friendly people to talk to about the good old days.

A hidden neighborhood gem. Its a real treat to visit, see the trains in action, and admire the craftsmanship of the members. The intricacy, detail, and engineering is all significant. We visited on an evening when the overhead lights were turned off and the display lights were turned up. That seems like the best way to see it.

You wouldnt know it from the outside but within lies a hidden land quirky, historical, and intriguing. Several volunteers stand ready to guide you through the landscape. In addition, maps and other ephemera on the walls help to depict the era. This is not a quick stop - give yourself enough time to take in the details.

Im a member. My BNSF lead unit. 8476 SD 70 ace. Im there for the kids. And work very hard to put on a good show for our Patrons when they come in to see trains. And is always nice to see the same folks come back . And bring in new patrons to come to see trains. Some of my model cars are 40 years old from when I was 13 years old. I spent the summer on my grandparents farm. Shoveling snow for the neighbors on My block. Or done yard work . Bought those frieght cars at North town Mall. Some of our members would be at the model Railroad train show at North town Mall in February. Thats what really got me interested in Ho scale model trains. Living close to the BN maine line in Coon Rapids. Every day. Be watching trains for hours. And still go out rail fanning to get Ideals how to do weathering. Graffiti on my model cars. I enjoy model Railroad .

This place is Awesome!it is not only abt trains,it is miniature model of reallife(forests·tunnels·buildings·houses·bars·restaurants·police station...etc)1. Staff working there told us that it took him abt one hour to build 2 trees, and there are abt a thousand there. so many interesting vivid details:bikini girls are sunbathing/mini men fishing in the river/ railroad workers went on strike picketing/ there is even Gream reaper hidden there...2. trains are so cool. you can even see the smoke and they are on schedule.3. staff there are nice and helpful with lots of good stories abt railroad to tell.just check out opening time before you go (Sat&Sun 1-4pm)

Limited interest for children under 8. I brought a 4 year old, and he was done in 10 minutes. Lots of wooden tracks (like brio), and one monster model train. Might be more appropriate (and worth the admission price, or donation as they call it) for older kids.

Historically accurate; very large operating railroad with lots of interest for railfans and non-railfans alike. The layout includes towns, bridges, trestles and industry. You can spend hours watching this scale model world. Youll become a train fan before you leave.

A hobbyist model train museum with a large indoor layout. Pretty neat to check out, but it seemed more geared towards the hardcore model railroader.
