Visitors wanting a history lesson on the region encompassing Harrington and surrounding areas can visit the wide range of exhibits housed at the Milford museum in downtown Milford. The displays rotate from time to time, so there’s always something different to see. Past shows include local politics, lighthouses, products made in Milford, the shipyards, and toys from the ‘20s.

Free but small. They do have a sign in sheet. You can learn Milford history and see the maps. They have all the major wars including War Of 1812

What a great place to visit. I am new to this area and I had no idea how much history this small town has! If you are looking for something different to do and want to stay away from the heat, this can be a great option. The lady behind the counter (cannot remember her name), was super friendly and knowledgeable about the museum. She gave us a tour of the place and answered all my questions. Thanks!!

We were just passing through on our way up to NYC and thought we’d stop off randomly. We stopped in Milford and had a look what was in the area, we saw the museum and thought we’d check it out. We are so happy we did, massive amount of history in this town. The exhibits and artefacts were well preserved and presented, to top it all off Claudia showed us around, explaining and storytelling as we went, she has amazing knowledge of this town! Thank you!

I didnt spend a whole lot of time here, but... . It is a small small-town museum covering over 300 years of history. I get the feeling that it is a fairly young museum. Still, we have an interesting story to tell, and it does a reasonable job telling it. They give out information about the town the historic people, etc. Its a good place to go to get a feel for the town.

This place is interesting to say the least. So much history about the area. I was in doing some research on the Hays family that was in the area and ended up talking with the director who was a very pleasant person to talk to. He was a very intelligent man on his history of the area. I recommend this place to any history buff.
