Beautiful place to visit especially on a quiet day. There is an education center that rehabilitates animals as well as a path way to the beach. The best part is an observation center that allows you to see the beautiful vista. Simply breathtaking. This place is a must see to enjoy nature.

A totally beautiful place to go and walk around and see nature but if you have a child who wants to volunteer for a church program, no one is ever there. Thats my only disappointment. Beyond that, I do highly recommend visiting as it is very, very beautiful.

I was traveling for work and had an afternoon free. I like to adventure around and stumbled on this great little place. There is a little trail you can walk. They have an awesome center you can visit and see some fun wildlife and a tall viewing platform. It is easy to get to (fun little drive) and has an easy parking lot. Highly recommend a stop if you have extra time to visit this great place!

Lovely place to visitWe got to observe osprey via nest cam. The beach is Rocky but you can access the beach in front of the homes next to the society and thats less Rocky. There were quite a few horse shoe crabs on the beach

This is a great spot for grownups and children alike. I have visited alone and also with a school group and also for a birthday party. The Long Island Sound ecosystem is such a big part of New York and Connecticut ... this place does a great job of educating the visitors about all of the aquatic life and birds that call this area home.

New England protected treasures the salty marshes. Connected by walking paths along the ocean land mass. A special place given to mankind naturally. Appreciation and gratitude abound especially amidst the sprawling city congestion. A relaxing getaway! Do not miss out.

This place is very nostalgic for me as it was a popular family day trip. It offers simple trail walks through a variety of ecosystems and is a great place for nature lovers of all ages. Great birding, tracking, deer sighting, otter spotting, turtles abound, etc. Not dog friendly fir the sake of the natural inhabitants so plan accordingly if you want to walk with a four legged friend.

Audubon run preserve and wildlife refuge on the Long Island Sound. Salt Marsh and Wildlife Management Area at the mouth of the Housatonic River. Great place to view shore birds, migrating birds, song birds, raptors - all types of birds. I went on a free Audubon tour and viewed hundreds of birds and butterflies. Some areas were protected for breeding colonies. The staff were very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. There is a small nature center, restrooms and ample parking.

The location is beautiful and quiet, a great place for a walk. The nature center is small but interesting. I would rate it 5 stars, however while there my wife and I joined the Audubon Society, and signed up to be on the volunteer list. We have not heard from them since, but they did not hesitate to cash our check. We were hoping to receive at least information about upcoming events or volunteer opportunities. I guess at least I donated to a good cause..? Check it out, but think twice before joining.
