I stopped here on a Friday afternoon after hearing how great of a destination it was. The view and entire setup did not disappoint! It was beautiful with views of their huge vineyard and a large outdoor seating area. The staff was all very safe and made sure to keep the tables distanced. You could get a flight of 4 and mix and match beer and wine which I thought was very different. Additionally all of their wines but the dessert ones were allowed in the flight. Each wine we had was good and Im glad we had a chance to try it. The food they offered was also very tasty, however it was pretty expensive. We got the cheese board which was $20 and in my opinion had very little in it for the price. But the price for the wine and flights were very reasonable! Overall Id recommend a stop in! Make a reservation though!

We had a great experience at Newport Vineyards. Their COVID restrictions were above and beyond, and we felt safe the whole time. Our waitress was so friendly, and gave great advice in regard to vegetarian offerings, and wine options. The wine flight was very generously portioned. We read reviews that the food wasn’t great but we were thrilled with our pretzel, and both loved our burgers (veggie and regular).

Great for making an impression. Even better for date night.Contacted Newport Vineyards by email in advance to booking a reservation on OpenTable. As I was planning a date night for my wife & I, they were quick to respond when I asked if there would be enough room for a stroller. They were quick to respond & answered all my questions. Reservations was quick & simple. The menu had a wide variety of offerings. We enjoyed the cheese board, house made pastrami sandwiches, and flights of beer & wine. I myself had the beef flight. The unfiltered Belgian was a unique brew that I was glad I tried. The Open Daily was my favorite. Stay away from the seasonal pumpkin beers. Far too much cinnamon. The pastrami sandwich was large & delicious. Bill was about $120 after gratuity.Parking is easy. Location is beautiful, overlooking the winery. Tables are spaced far apart due to pandemic regulations, which was kind of nice to have some space from other tables on date night!

Delicious food and a vast selection of beer and wine flights! Tried a little bit of everything and wasnt dissapointed, even a pumpkin beer at the moment. The charcuterie was well balanced, the barbecue was tender, the Mac and cheese was creamy, the dip was warm and smooth, the pimento cheese was well balanced and the hummus gave a nice balance to the other dishes. Also topped it all off with the warm skillet chocolate chip cookie!

At location, they do a great job working through the pandemic. HOWEVER, the website and all signage around the location are unclear about outside food. It reads that picnicking is prohibited in the vineyards. It does not mention outside food anywhere for those going for a tasting. They also need to inform their staff. I would like to give 5 stars, but only if they change that. Otherwise, we had great, friendly staff including the manager who needed to deliver the bad news.

The experience was fine UNTIL we tried to take one picture infront of the vinyard and were very rudely addressed by the management. The entire time we saw countless families take pictures in front of the vinyard and when we went we were called out for it. Last time I checked you dont transmit Covid by being in a secluded area. AVOID this place they dont respect their clients at all.

This is one of my favorite vineyards. On a return trip to Newport, I was most excited about the trip to return here. The vineyard is beautiful, and it felt like paradise to sit outside for hours, read a book, get food occasionally, and drink delicious wine.Unfortunately, thats not what happened on my return trip. Im still giving it 5 stars based on my first visit, but I would skip for now until after covid. Currently, you cant wander through the vineyard, they had a time limit of an hour and a half for how long you could stay (even though there were tons of empty tables: why not just let me move to one of those if my table was reserved for someone else after the hour and a half?), and they serve the wine into plastic cups. (Plastic cups? Why? Other vineyards are still using wine glasses and every restaurant is using glasses too, so I dont understand the logic here. And, its a vineyard, so its not a stretch to say people are particularly interested in the wine... So why downgrade the experience of the primary product you sell? Doesnt make sense to me.)At any rate, after covid, if Im in the area, Ill do a return visit and hope that it has returned to the experience it first gave.

I’m very upset. I just left this winery and the manager “Gardner” wouldn’t sit us outside although I saw many open seating options. I understand we’re in a pandemic but wouldn’t you rather have more people outside than inside? And his explanation was bazaar. They stated it’s first come first serve for outside seating yet we had to sit inside while they had several empty seats outside. It was very stupid and his logic made no sense. Very upset!!

They gave us a 5pm reservation but failed to tell us that last call was at 5:30 and told us we would have an hour and a half when we did not. Then they said “don’t worry you can buy a bottle and drink it at the table and stay as long as you want” and when i went to go buy a bottle they lied. You couldn’t drink it at the table. So we basically came here for no reason. They also yelled at us while we were waiting for an Uber as if I should stand in the street. Rude staff. Like super rude.

I’ve been to many vineyards- wine tasting to say the least and I wasn’t pleased with the service at this vineyard. For starters, I had a reservation at 215pm and it just so happened that I arrived early at 1:40PM and didn’t get seated till 2:10. When I did get seated I got assigned to a table inside shoved in the corner. I had seen there were tables available outside, so I asked the hostess for better seating. I was told “Those tables are all reserved, they’re reserved for 2:15PM” I had mentioned that my reservation was for that exact time and I had been waiting for 30 minutes at that point and there weren’t even people at those tables yet. This vineyard really wasn’t accommodating at all. Even with time going on I saw no one attend serval tables outside that we could have been swooped for. Overall, this visit was very disappointing especially when you’re visiting from out of town and having people with you wine taste for their first time.

Im right between 3 and 4 starts - so 3.5. Our group of 6 came to Newport Vineyards for a wine tasting and dinner at Taproot this past weekend, June, 2020. The wines were solid - the white was better and more unique than the red in our opinion. Group favorites were the Island White (reminiscent of Welchs White Grape Juice) & Tranquility. The reds were just ok - probably to be expected, as RI isnt known for its wine country. Still a fun experience and lovely to look out at the vines and property. The atmosphere was lovely but unfortunately we were prevented from walking around the property due to COVID restrictions. Very silly that you can walk around the confined gift store and touch items in close quarters with other customers, but not spend time outside where theres plenty of space. This isnt the fault of the Vineyard, but still a bummer. The food was a bit of a disappointment, especially for the price points. Unfortunately, almost everyone had something go wrong with their meal and no one was blown away. We had burned buns on sandwiches/burgers (not charred - burned and hard enough to make them inedible), under-cooked root vegetables, and soggy chips. I have a gluten allergy and asked our waitress if they had gluten free buns - she said shed check and let me know. When my food came out, it was a burger without a bun. If I would have known/if the waitress would have gotten back to me, I would have placed a different order - especially because I ordered the beet/bean burger and it made for a sad entree without a bun and toppings.Overall Id recommend the vineyard itself for the experience, but would have to give the food another try before recommending.

Short Summary: Not dog friendly.Long Story:The employees were not helpful what so ever during my recent visit. I had my comfort dog with me and entered the building since there was no clearly marked area where to enter with the dog. Even signs saying not to enter on the outside open areas.I read online that this place allowed dogs and I saw a full size Labrador enjoying their time with their owners. I entered and proceeded to have the main hostess tell me about the offerings but never indicated any issues with my dog.Pulled from their own site:“Dogs are allowed on outdoors but must remain leashed at all times. Only service dogs are allowed in the tasting room, restaurants or outdoor dining sections of the Vineyard Cafe.”I was more than happy to have a tasting outdoors such as the Lab too. Three other workers appeared and told me that the dog had to go outside all within a minute. Very taken aback by this behavior and lack of direction. I happily took my business elsewhere.Having a group of employees follow you around within a minute of coming in to telling you to leave is not welcoming nor professional. I’ve been in wineries coast to coast and have never seen or had any issues with my dog.

My wife and I got married in April at Newport Vineyards. From the first day we walked in to tour the site (which was the same day we booked it) until walking out the door at the end of our wedding, the entire process was wonderful. Jenna and her team were amazing. She was always available, prompt, and happy to answer questions. Our day turned out more perfect than we could have imagined. We were the first lesbian wedding at Newport Vineyards and never once were we made to feel different or that our day wouldn’t be perfect. We were stress-free planning a wedding knowing that Jenna and her team were by our side. Our tasting meeting was one of the best meals we have ever had. We ate incredible food made by Chef Andy and tasted wine for hours while finalizing our menu. When we wanted to do things a little differently, we were met with excitement and flexibility.Planning a wedding with an outdoor ceremony space can be stressful, but knowing that there was a gorgeous indoor space if the weather didn’t cooperate allowed us to relax the week leading up to the wedding. We knew that the team would make either site perfect. They coordinated everything with our vendors, so there was very little we needed to do once vendors were selected. We were able to enjoy the day getting ready, not wondering if the cake or flowers showed up on time. The staff made our night down right magical. Everything we hoped for went off without a hitch (or if there was a hitch, we didn’t know about it)! We had such an incredible evening surrounded by family and friends, enjoying incredible food, wines, craft beer, and signature cocktails crafted by Brenna. The event staff were wonderful, attentive and ensured that every guest was taken care of. Darcy was our right-hand woman at the wedding and made sure we ate, drank, and felt special the whole night. It was perfection. We would 100% recommend Newport Vineyards! Our only regret is that we can’t get married every weekend.

Our tasting was fantastic. Lance was knowledgeable and engaging and the rest of the tasting staff very attentive. We were starving once we had finished that and were craving a cheese/charcuterie selection. Lance pointed us in the direction of their Taphouse eatery. It looked quiet but inviting. I asked the hostess if we could sit outside and she said no we arent seating outside. I said no problem as long as we could have a window seat (several appeared to be vacant). She said fine but I will have to put you on a list. There are other people ahead of you so I could text you. Wherever these people were they were invisible or somewhere else. And if there was to be a wait there are other more welcoming ways to present that. Turned us right off. None of this can take away from our tasting experience but it would have been perfection if the dining experience was more hospitable to say the least.

I visited Brix several times, when they first opened, several years ago. I wasnt very impressed with the atmosphere (very loud) or the food. Last night, I decided to try them again and was pleasantly surprised! As a solo diner, I chose to sit at the bar, which offers very comfortable stools, that are upholstered on the seat, as well as the back. The bartender promptly greeted me with a smile and pleasant demeanor. I requested to taste two of the house portfolio chardonnays, which she had no problem with. (In The Buff was my favorite!) After I made my selection and requested a glass of ice water (which was immediately delivered!) she presented the dinner menu, along with the special Pre-Fixe menu. She was more than happy to answer my questions and even made suggestions of her personal favorites. I decided to order from the Pre-Fixe menu, which is an outstanding deal! $35 for 3 courses, all of which offer a wonderful variety of choices. For my 1st course, I chose the Cheese Board, which included both Chevre & Alisios cheeses, assorted nuts, fresh blueberry jam, sliced apples and housemade Taproot spent grain bread. My entree choice was the Braised Blackbird Farm Beef - which was delectable! Cooked to perfection, with an amazing sauce and local root vegetables...the meat melted in my mouth and no knife was needed, it was so very tender. Dessert (which I ended up taking to-go) was a delightful assortment of the Pastry Chef’s Favorite Small Bites...yummay! All and all, my dining experience was incredible and I will definitely be returning soon!

The good thing was they had the capacity and systems in place to handle it, and we got a tasting quickly and easily. The winery is large and well done in general. Theres quite a few tasting areas, a little restaurant, and a snack stand. On the day we were there, they had live music and we were led to a tasting bar right next to the tanks in the winery itself. The experience was nice and all of the staff were very friendly. Tastings cost $15 each, which is steep to begin with, but you get to keep your glass afterwards if youd like. You get 5 decent pours of wines of your choice for the tasting. While the wines were good, none of them really stood out to me as contenders for favorites.
