I went to this school for a year before I realized the education wouldnt prepare me to get a job in my field (Animation). Their animation instructors do not have industry experience or even websites to check their work. This is a very expensive school and many of the students who graduate from this place leave with no jobs and a huge amount of student debt. Youre better off getting an associates degree from Miami-Dade and applying to a reputable school like Ringling.

Too pricey and will likely put you in debt. Who tf is paying 40k to a school with no guarantee you will succeed in life. If Im paying that much Im supposed to win a Grammy at this point. They dont seem to take you serious when your a teen tryna apply for that college.

It is a huge amount of money, but the fashion design program is pretty thorough. I felt that I had a great experience and it allowed me to really take my art seriously. The professors are wonderful. Sure, there are some bad eggs, but every college has a few of those.

I just got there and i love it so far, my tuition went down about 75% thanks to scholarships and financial aid. (doesnt mean i wont have some debt, its an expensive school)The teachers i got are awesome and the people too, they lend you equipment if you need to and they try to help you as much as they can. Computers are great and always have the latest software (all of the adobe cc for example) I dont get the bad reviews to be honest.----graduate review----My initial thoughts were right, but after a while you feel like you arent learning anymore and youre just wasting time. Its still a good school, but if I had had the chance to go to another university like Ringling, I wouldve.

Absolute disaster of institution, from financial services to student advisers. If I could I would not even be given them the one star, they are not even worth it. No one knows what is going on and the incompetence of the people that work in BOTH departments is astonishing. You have to figure out everything on your own with zero guidance, mostly because people are NOT there to help at all. Always nasty and with an attitude and have no respect to the students that pay RIDICULOUS amount of money each quarter. If your objective is to learn, I STRONGLY advice you look somewhere else….once you enroll you are stuck. NONE of the credits transfers to ANY other University or College and half the time you have to auto teach yourself. This place has given me more headaches and locked doors than actual opportunities. So do yourself a favor and RUN away from this lie of a “University”

I loved this school! I graduated in 2009 with a BA in Fashion Merchandising and if there was a MA program for my major I wouldve went for it because I was sad to leave. My coursework, professors, and projects were excellent along with special events and student activities and volunteer opportunities. You get as much from the school as you give.My only issue is how very expensive it was (and still is). None of my projects cost less than $100 either and there is one due at the end of each 11 week course plus textbooks, etc. If you decide to attend, be serious about your work, making contacts, etc. to get more value for your dollar!

100% RIP OFF!!! This school is the reason i will feel regret till the rest of my life for the amount I spent on my degree, and what i got out of it for $90.000. The department of education should be looking into it. For 90k BA in Fashion Design you will get a joke sort of quality of education . Most of the instructors are there by accident. The curriculum is a joke. Most of GE classes just to fill the program, so they can charge a lot of money for the degree.MS. GARCIA is The angry Witch of MIU shouldnt be exposed to other humans, uncultured angry person. MR.TORO was given a class to teach for his own pleasure, until this day students dont know what the class is about. This school is only for students with rich parents. They promise you HELP FOR JOB PLACEMENT and amazing career in fashion design but when the time will come for the job placement , the employee of career services dep., will abandon you SO FAST.100% LOSS OF MONEY ON TUITION and time. I only see positive feedback from the prospective students (they say: the school looks so cool!) or who is in this school for a very short time. JUST A LOSS OVERALL.

I attended when the school was still independently owned as International Fine Arts College. I recently decided to start up school again at a different university and it has been an absolute NIGHTMARE trying to get my transcripts sent. Its been almost a full month since I emailed the request (they dont have any other way you can request it) and NEVER get called back when I leave voicemails to follow up and NEVER get return emails when emailing the department or either of the listed Registrars. Its not like Im asking them to send them for free or anything. Im totally willing to pay to have them sent, but I cant get a hold of anyone who can actually do anything. The closest Ive gotten is speaking to someone in admissions (cause you know theyre always there) and a poor student-worker who basically just took a message (so Im not expecting any contact). Just an absolutely awful administration department there. Filed a complaint with the BBB since I dont see any other options at this point.

Very sad to hear about the numerous negative reviews. If this institution cared about the education and/or their reputation they would respond to all the negative reviews. However more importantly, the school should take these criticisms TO HEART and improve the quality of the institution. Also having lawsuits brought against you by governing agencies is horrendous! BUYER BEWARE - as the expression goes.

I cant tell you what to do but I can certainly tell you my experience at this school: Since I was a child I always wanted to be a fashion designer, being that we dont have options in Miami; I ended up attending this joke of Institute on 2013 (without looking information about them). They dont required any admission test. The teachers dont encourage the students to pursue their style. They dont care about the student progress, the clase rooms were packed. The student materials included youtube videos a lot (youtube is free so do yourself a favor...). They make you buy a lot expensive materials on their library and you barely use them... The US government is currently suing them, within the last years 15 Art Institute schools had been closed by the government (and counting). The lawsuit is in reference to fraud. They scam students who need financial aid into getting to debt for an Art degree tuition of $80,000 - $100,000 (an art degree is NOT worth that much money). The government stipulated that they purposely increase the tuition to take the money and then let the students with a humongous amount of debt, unemployed and with little chances of getting a job or paying back to the government. Look for yourself in the Internet. I got out after 2 semesters when I realized they are a scam and found out about the lawsuit. I ended up paying back to the school $2,000 and still paying back to the federal loan office (thats not counting all the money I spent on materials that I still have home never used). Also, about the advisors: Its true that they change them often (I got 2 different advisor in two semesters). And basically nobody to help.

I have so many horrible things to say about this school. I attended for 2 semesters before I realized what a joke it is. I am embarrassed to even say I went there. I never write negative reviews about anything! But hopefully this will help other people avoid making the super expensive mistake I did. I went for the fashion accessory design program and its about 40,000. The administrators sell you this great program with great employment opportunities and they definitely help you get the money to go there through financial aid and loans. Once they have your money thats where the help stops. All they care about is getting paid and if its not already expensive enough I went broke my first semester buying supplies that are not included in your $600 supply kit you pay for when you sign up. When you have a problem the administration is either rude or doesnt really care. Nobody offers to help you with anything. You pretty much have to know already how the system works and know what you have to demand from them. If not youre screwed. The classes are not flexible at all so take that into consideration if you have a pretty set work schedule. They are very strict with absences because the classes are only 11 weeks. Which in my opinion was not long enough to learn any of the subjects in depth. If you miss 3 classes you fail. I had a teacher who missed class almost every other week so I REALLY didnt learn anything in that class. More than half the students going there have absolutely no talent and will most likely never work in their field of study. But everyone is told their work has potential because they want you to keep spending your money. If youre going to spend this much money to go to design school go somewhere that actually requires you to have talent and a portfolio to get in! The last straw for me was actually attending a portfolio review for the graduating students. When I applied here I was told the students put together a portfolio of their best work and at the end of their program the school sets up a showcase where potential employers come to check out the students and their work. They made this sound like a very promising resource for finding employment. It was a joke! I was there for over an hour and the potential employers were mostly unprofessional looking, wannabe business owners. The only man that talked to an accessory design student was thinking about starting a design business. I would be very surprised if anybody received a legitimate job offer that day. After that I went straight down to there registrars office and asked to withdraw. Nobody asked me why I wanted to withdraw neither were they concerned. The girl at the desk handed me half a sheet of paper to fill out and that was that. They probably werent surprised because it happens all the time. Dont go here!!!

I was suspicious about the school, not much of a portfolio review, they didnt care about GRE scores or undergrad work. By the third week in it was confirmed that this was a not for me or any serious student. In my graduate courses, not one person read or studied for class, the discussions were between myself and the instructor in the history of graphic design course and in the studio classes students were turning in their projects on notebook paper and even working on them right before class, scribbling them out in pencil (two of those students were instructors at the Fort Lauderdale location.) I was out of there asap.

Terrible school. Completely overpriced and overhyped. I am a senior film student and feel I made the worst mistake of my life coming to this school.I was not able to make a thesis film because the faculty and administration does not care about the program. They did not properly administer the program. It was shut down two years into my degree and now we have no support. I will be homeless because of this school and I have nothing to show for it. They started a new Video program because the old program had so many bad reviews. There is no employment assistant, you are on your own. No one ever gets a job in film from this school. The people who go on to work in film had connections. There is barely any access to equipment, you have to reserve two weeks in advance and they usually lose the reservation. That means you are stuck with no equipment after spending thousands on locations, props, actors...etc. They dont care. They are very corporate and will spit out jargon as to why they cant give you equipment. The few times they do give equipment they let you know that they are doing you a favor. The computers are crap. 4GB of ram and no professional monitors. Software is usually not activated. Only one small outdated computer lab.If you have to take loans to go to this school, dont go. Buy a camera and read. You can learn everything this school will teach you online. Most of the time the teachers will look up answers on youtube, so your getting the same info. Start your own video business, your dont need school for that. Film school is no longer applicable, especially if you have such little access to equipment. If a film school doesnt have RED or Arri Alexas, it is a joke. MIU is still shooting on SD DVX100s. Many students get stuck with them, because the HD cameras are very limited. If you are rich and can waste 300K (What this school costs to actually benefit from it. i.e. having enough money for productions, equipment, actors, props, insurance, locations.) The school has no insurance and many students who are hurt on set have to drop out.Good luck and hope you dont make the same mistake I did.
