Nice place to hike within the city but its not very isolated. Lots of people hiking and riding bikes on the trails and the area is quite small.

Nesbit Park is a nice retreat from the surrounding subdivisions. It provides both mountain bike trails and hiking. The hiking trail could use some clearing in places and its not always clear where you need to go when you come to a fork. Be prepared to do a little back tracking till you get the hang of it. Only real down side is the street noise can be heard all throughout the park.

Best place to mountain bike in Memphis. There are 3 main trails with a map that shows the routes. The area is also used to trail run or hike. The area is kept up very nice and the trails are marked most of the year.

These trails a great for trail running if you’re looking for a good workout but they aren’t well maintained (overgrowth and blocked paths) and they aren’t well marked. If you want to set out for a certain distance you just have to run and figure it out as you go and hope you are going the right way. It’s in an unexpected area, right in the middle of a neighborhood but it’s supposed to be about 7-8 miles worth of trail. The map at the beginning had numbers missing so that’s an estimate. You can wear bug spray but it’s not going to help anything due to the insane amount of mosquitoes. I went at the end of May on a 95 degree day. It was cool inside the trees but recent rain made it perfect conditions for swarms of mosquitoes.

Walked this Trail for the first time today while spending Thanksgiving with my daughter and her family. The trail is definitely my kind of Trail however the signage leaves a lot to be desired. Be careful that you dont get lost.

Jo
Review №34

I biked the white trail and checked out the pump track.Positives:Not super hilly. Just enough to keep your blood pumping. The trails are pretty well beaten down, so youre not likely to veer off course unintentionally. (Although I will say there are more trails than what the map shows, especially in the area of the red trails.) There are multiple places where you can pick up the trail from surrounding streets and neighborhoods, which is nice if you live nearby.Negatives:Im not sure why these trails have such good ratings. Theyre definitely not well marked or maintained. I came across many large fallen trees spanning across the trail and had to dismount and find a way around through the poison ivy. At one spot there were boards on the trail with nails sticking out. Luckily I stepped on one of the nails and realized they were there before risking blowing a tire on one. The trails are also very rooty, which isnt horrible if you have rear shocks, but I dont. I also came across a collapsed wooden bridge. Youre much better off going to Shelby farms in my opinion.

So, fun stuff, this park is like a little Oasis in the urban jungle. If you look hard enough, you can find wild strawberries and random well-like things. Keep your pet on a leash as there are usually mountain bikers out. Great hiking. There are cool, wooden bridges speckled throughout the park too. It can get pretty muddy in bits, so wear shoes youre ok with getting dirty.

This is a great place to go mountain biking they have about three trails that you can go on one takes about 10-15 minutes and the other two are about 30 minutes to an hour depending how fast you are theres a good number of drops and Hills to climb and a few places for you can do some jumps theres also a little dirt track where you can jump if you have a BMX bike. There is a group that takes care of the park every now and then blowing out leaves and clearing out the brush so you have a nice Easy Ride some of the trails gets a little tricky because there is a river that flows through the day

Review №45

If what you want in a park is pure wilderness, this is it. There is a parking lot to hold about 20 cars, and that is the end of the infrastructure. There are no playgrounds that Im aware of, only hiking and biking trails. Also its huge, so be sure you bring a map or a compass or something I imaging its easy to get lost.

Great XC mountain biking. Lots of roots, short punchy climbs, and not too muddy, even in the spring. Theres a dirt jump area thats quite decent, especially for this area.Terrain is more challenging than anywhere else in the Memphis area. Fun ride and its not too long. Longest loop is 4.3 miles I think.Go ride!
