This museum is adorable! We took our seven and nine year old daughters and stayed for about an hour and a half. The museum has a family package, two adults and two children for $30. I thought it was a great value. The girls watched a video about the appropriate time to call 911. We explored the history of firefighting including several large engines. There are many interactive exhibits for the children. My girls favorite was the escape maze which teaches children to check the temperature of the door before opening. We also were amazed at the house fire simulation. Good for children about ages four to 10.

All of the old engines were very cool. The interactive play section was great even for the adults. I could see it being good fire education for children but the history is enjoyable for the adults. Unfortunately the interactive fire simulation was unavailable for our tour since it was guided and no one showed up. It’s a unique museum, maybe more so for those in the industry but we had a blast nonetheless.

I have had the honor of visiting the Memphis Fire Museum on several occasions since it was opened including its grand opening! The Memphis Fire Museum is a must stop when visiting downtown. The building is beautiful and the museum is great for both children and adults. The honor and history held in the walls of the museum are a must see for any public safety personnel.Centrally located in downtown Memphis the Fire Museum is just a short walk away from several other attractions and restaurants.

Great alternative to the childrens museum whenever you need different scenery. Lots of great historical context about the city of Memphis fire department.

Through their educational visits for school kids, theyve enabled several kids to save the lives of their family members. Now thats a good cause!

Fun for all ages this place consist of two building with a converted fire house with 2 floors of activities. The staff was really knowledgeable and retired or off duty fire fighters where manning the activity. Awesome experience.

Love this museum in 2 buildings! It has history and fire safety lessons. Love the hands-on simulated fire fighting and driving for the children! The fire safety computer game screens are so slow youll go insane. Thats why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars. Upgrade Wi-fi! Love the 3D/4D simulated real fire room! Love the 3D house set-up for safe home practices to prevent fire! Parking is an issue; however, Memphis is trying. If you take small children, youll need a stroller. There are parking garages; however, its too far to walk for a small child or elderly person who has trouble walking. This museum is worth the parking trouble. Check it out! Adults $10. Children $8. Yes, its a pricey outing if you have several children. I would take grandchildren more often if admission price was much lower for children. I love this museum.

The Fire Museum of Memphis is excellent for younger children 2-8(ish) for them to explore actual fire trucks, ambulances and battle simulator fires!Along with all the children interaction, adults can most certainly learn something new from the exhibit itself. Along the Museum, they display antique gear including helmets, gas masks, fire extinguishers and horse drawn fire trucks. There are two separate buildings, the fire house itself is where the children can run, touch, play and learn. There prices are reasonable and they offer a membership for anyone who wishes to visit the Museum in the future.

Looked on line to get information, directions, hours, and cost. It said it was free. Yet when I found a parking spot and paid for parking, and entered, the lady in museum said it would be $28. I told her I saw on the internet that it was a free event. She said no its out there but thats not true. My kids and I were disappointed. When youre traveling and organizing events. You pay for some and some its nice to have free. Yet when I explain that , she didnt seem to care.

Very interesting museum, and something Ive not seen in other cities (though they may well exist and I just never visited or saw them). They have some very cool historical fire equipment and engines, as well as an area where kids can dress up and play. The play area isnt particularly expansive, but my 3 year old played for almost 2 hours with his friends at a birthday party here and didnt want to leave because he was still having fun.

Not only because I am a firefighter, but this is one of the most awesome places I have been to. This museum offers all of the history of the Memphis Fire Department for the fire and history buffs. The old firehouse is converted into a hands on, interactive grand tour of the station. The Memphis Fire Department holds educational outreach tours for children and families here, with the use of state of the art simulators and games. A must see for anyone around the Memphis area.
