Ive been wanting to bike along John Nolan Drive and take photos for some time now. Today I got that chance! Jumped on a BCycle e-bike (got the last one near Machinery Row), and took a quick 30-min ride from there to Olin Park and back. What a beautiful day! Got some great shots, got some good exercise ....

This is the Olin park at night during the holiday season. The electrician union of Madison makes an exemplary display of holiday lights. Of course there are multiple companies that sponsor this event as well. A good place to have a picnic or go for a quick run.

Grounds maintained nicely, easy to reserve event space in the enclosed pavilion for gatherings large & small. Stunning view of WI State Capital looking across the lake which borders the inland perimeter of park. Nice boat launch access with concrete traction bars leading in & out of piers for optimal traction control whether launching or retrieving boats.

An excellent Dane County boat lunch, beautiful large park/natural area, lots of great mini festivals throughout the Wisconsin summer schedule. Boaters beware, launch is deeper than expected at a typical Dane County launch/landing. Every thing else about the park is wonderful, plenty of spots right next to the lake to enjoy.

Local large old historical park. It is set amongst century old trees and diverse prairie hills flourishing with flowers. Excellent view of the capitol as well. There are trails off to the side to explore for those who like to be more adventurous. If you have a boat, there is space to launch it into Lake Mendota and park your vehicle. Also happens to host the best Beer Festival in Wisconsin every August (in this writers opinion.) Thanks to the Madison Homebrew and Tasters Guild.Highly advise going for a relaxing time.

Spacious park with excellent across-lake (Monona) views of the capital + skyline. Multiple different areas of the park to utilize, so many parties may coexist uninterrupted. Wheelchair accessible pathways, structured bathroom complex, playground, and a pavilion that may be publicly rented. There are limited parking spots near the pavilion and two main lots closer to John Nolen (accessible by Lakeside St OR Olin Turville Rd (the latter road may not be used as a cut through between the two)). Street parking is also available. Be aware of limited-hour parking spots.
