They always put on a great show! This years Halloween themed one (2020) was no exception. It was a fascinating experience, very beautifully performed. This is not your typical haunted attraction kind of event, its a true performance with a higher level of thought provoking intrigue. Very worthwhile.

A really clever holloween creation. The walk has the feel of a formidable haunted house. The theatrical treat inside is equally clever with some well communicated humour.

AWESOME!Zombie Joe’s Underground Theatre is a very unique immersive experience that will take you by surprise regardless of what you expect. I laughed with exhilarated fear, shock, and utter amazement as tears streamed from my eyes as I tried to catch my breath. I’ve been to three productions and have been so consistently impressed by the group’s efforts, abilities, and creativity, I’ve tipped the ringleader Zombie Joe more than the ticket price for each event.

This place was fun. I went here for my first haunted house experience. They didnt get me until the very end but it was good. Got tipsy. Went with a big group. Screamed at everything. Watched a show. It was a nicely done production . Recommended

Urban Death is the go to show to watch around Halloween time. The maze between the entrance and the main stage is such a trip. Everyone seems to love what they do and it truly shows. Highly highly recommend.

If youre looking to get into Halloween spirit then you must see POSSESSION: AN AMERICAN SERIAL KILLER. I never leave reviews for anything but this play amazed me and showed me something new, the acting was amazing to the point that you think its real life, the main actor was charismatic, confident, and full of energy. I recommended this play to all my friends and I advise you to go and see it before its too late! Have fun and enjoy it!

This is a must do. If you like quirky, weird, but fun experiences..check them out. I didnt know what to expect and that made it even more thrilling. I wont give away what happens once you walk thru their doors, but it was well worth the reasonable ticket price. I def will go next year to check out a new show. The folks who do the show are so nice and down to earth, and talented.

The boldest and best theater in LA! ZJU is a special place with shows unlike youve ever seen before. I love the horror shows that they produce, and no matter how many times I go to the theater I always feel like Im seeing something new. Be sure to check out Urban Death: Tour of Terror, their Halloween haunted house. Nothing else even comes close.

Cant say I typically frequent haunted houses, but this experience was quite moving and exceeded expectations in quite a lyrical fashion. I ubered to the event, but parking actually appeared feasible, had I driven instead. The owner/staff are all quite charming and friendly. Definitely check this one out.

I am floored after seeing Blood Alley! After seeing Urban Death last year I knew that this show would be... unconventional, but after tonight I couldnt wait to get home and write this review! ZJU Theater is: provocative, raucous, disturbing, and awesome.The actors are soo incredible- they are (literally) capable of baring it all - emotional and physical, raw, human experiences. I found myself quite uneasy for some folks in the audience who seemed sort of bothered by the raunchy and daring scenes. Also because the space is very small and intimate, the acting takes place extremely up close. Most definitely you can expect nudity. ***Gentlepeople be warned!!!!*** Aside from this, I dont really want to say more.... you must go see for yourself!At $15/ticket, this is a great deal for LA night time entertainment!Personally I am so glad that there is a company that dares to push the limits!I hope you will check it out and support this incredible theater! You will most likely also meet THE Zombie Joe, in the flesh, who is so genuine, humble, and hospitable.Bravo, ZJU!!!!!! Cant wait to come to another show.

My boyfriend and I came here to see Possession, a play looking at Ted Bundy and his first kill. The actors really brought the characters to life. I got goosebumps during the performance. If I was from here Id definitely check out more at this venue. I dont think we have anything like this in Denver.

Ok so a friend and I wanted something different than movies or concert, decided to come here and it was so much fun! We saw a comedy called Sex and Love in the Modern Age and it was really funny! Its small theater and the cast and staff is really something too... They seem to be in love with what they do, i appreciate that. Super friendly place and close to a lot of good place to eat. I will definitely be back for another production. :)

This is the most provocative place I have ever been to... and it was incredible.

Good, crazy Halloween fun!

I think I came in expecting a bit too much, so I guess I was a little bit disappointed. Overall the cast did put in a lot of work and I can tell they rehearsed a lot. They were able to switch scenes in complete darkness. It kinda sucks that the maze wasnt available. And the show was a bit shorter than I thought.The show was different though. Nothing Ive ever seen before. I just hoped it was a little longer.

Cat Fight, a True Focus Theater production currently running at ZJU is a must see! The show was spell binding from the start. What a fantastic explosion of talent - actors, writers, dancers, singers, comedians, athletes... Although focused on the feminine, this is a show for all genders, a powerful statement of strength and hope, a delightful engagement of the emotional, auditory,visual and visceral. Bravo to all who turned a cat fight into a masterpiece! I am going back again and bringing as many friends as possible.

Zombie Joes theater is truly one of the best theater pieces in Los Angeles. With a very dedicated cast, Zombie Joe will scary even the most bravest of viewers...but its not the classic gore of current films it is more of a darker, artistic horror you will enjoy.

Not for the faint of . Be brave, be kind, be bold. Thats all these people are doing.

Zombie Joes Urban Death is seriously a show thats unlike any youve seen. Think of it like SNL but a (sometimes) darker, macabre version. Though, some of the skits are up to each individuals interpretation that can range from grim and ghastly, to funny and outright humorous. Definite must-see at least once!

ZJU is truly an experience, I cannot applaud enough the talent and commitment of the actors and producers.10/10 will go again.

The company did an excellent job at A Christmas Carol,A wonderful show, great acting. My first time there and I loved it.

I came for Urban Death and I didnt know what to expect except that I thought it would be a haunted INTERACTIVE play (similar to Delusion)But even though it wasnt interactive, and more of sit down and watch this performance, it was money well spent.The blackened walled theater sits about 35 people so its fairly intimate and youre close to the actors. There is no dialogue, and the usage of well-timed lights, cutting of lights, and actors expressions is very well done.Its about an hour long, and the actors perform short skits/scenarios that are meant to horrify, disturb and make you very uncomfortable. They do have some bits of comic relief here and there to ease the tension but overall I loved it!Bravo to all the actors/actresses! They have additional plays too so definitely check this place out if youre a horror fan! :)
