Have supported the old Gay St location and now thenew theater. This new venue has all the upsides needed to be successful except for the audio. I have sat in the second row for all three shows and have had great difficulty hearing the dialogue from some of the performers. Overhead or individual mics may allow patrons to get more of the punchlines and stay better focused with the flow of the show. I have heard this same comment from others.

Love the new location! Great local theater. Guests need to bring a jacket or sweater because you might freeze since the ac is set too cold for comfort.

Currently in a production that is being done at TKD. Have always enjoyed the intimacy of the theatre. Its not the biggest area, but it provides a closer experience for show goers in my opinion. Make sure you see the shows to encourage and support the local theatre community!!

Great play called 4 old broads that was very funny. We were very pleased with the play. It is a small theater, we arrived last minute with 6 people and they added more chairs so we could all get in. It was nearly sold out. Thank you!

It’s a small, yet intimate theatre, (has only about 50+ seats) where different types of plays are performed. I love sitting so close to the stage; helps me feel more involved with what’s going on in the plays. I’ve enjoyed the plays I’ve seen there, (especially the comedies) and the ticket prices are very reasonable.

I saw a play there last Saturday night. It was an absolutely delightful experience. There is a threshold of good acting and directing which, once crossed, makes the play come alive, and this was far exceeded. A truly enjoyable experience, and wonderful to be in a small and intimate space.

Theatre Knoxville is a very small modest venue - only one restroom back stage - but it is a good place to see live performance at a very reasonable price - plenty of parking next door

After 20 years since our last trip to Theatre Knoxville, we decided to check out the latest rendition. Our experience was extremely disappointing to say the least. The $16.50 ticket price stunned us but not near as much as the performance we got for that price. It (Greater Tuna) was exasperating, exhausting (for actors and audience alike), and numbing. The 4.8 stars rating on the website suggests someone is either stuffing the ballot box or that the plays vary drastically in quality.

My wife and I just left TKD after watching and thoroughly enjoying: Title of Show ! TKD is a real down home theater, and seating only 50 is wonderfully intimate. Its always so enervating to see live theater, to get your own creative juices moving. One falls in love with the characters and the actors, and experiences a deeper emotion which includes compassion and understanding of the plight/position of the players. When art can bring you to this sense of feeling than it has done its job. Many kudos to Matt Lyscas. Clark Herd, Laura Schoonmaker, Jessica Magers-rankin, and Braxton Kiser.
