A very nice, small venue. Good performance in a comfortable theatre - theres not a bad seat in the house. Nice amenities. Will definitively be coming more often - especially since ticket prices arent astronomical. Well worth it! (Saw Blithe Spirits in Feb 2020)

My husband and I enjoyed a performance of Noël Cowards play: Blithe Spirit. The play was very well done: the acting was brilliant and the setting was lovely. We have been to many plays at the Clarence Brown and have never been disappointed. The Clarence Brown Theater is located on the University of Tennessee campus. Theres a parking garage conveniently nearby.

One of my daughters loves plays and we have enjoyed everything weve seen at Clarence Brown. The sets, costumes, acting, direction, and lighting (yes, I notice how great the lighting is!), is top-notch. We see A Christmas Carol every year (she loves the part with the miners, please dont drop it!). Just saw Hamlet, which was fabulous. It may be time for season tickets.

Amazing performance.. I dont think Ive ever seen this play done so well. Bravo. Will definitely be going there again next time Im in Tennessee.

Went to go see Million Dollar Quartet and it was amazing!! Great performance, this was my first time visiting the Clarence Brown Theater and it will not be my last. Theater staff were very cautious and polite, seats were comfortable, and I dont believe there is a bad seat in the whole house.

Great place for a show. Be careful purchasing tickets as the diagram is reversed. Pay attention to the row numbers. Sound booth is in the rear.

Watching Blithe Spirit, great fun of a production. Very nice house, comfortable and spacious. Very solid house staff and really a fun show that more should see.

They always put on great shows here. I married into season tickets and found that I actually enjoy going to live theater. The stage sets for every play are always amazing, even if they are very simple. Concessions are available in the lobby, but they arent your typical theater fare. They have items like fresh fruit, granola bars, Magpies cookies, coffee, water, etc. No popcorn here. I would definitely recommend catching at least one production here. You never know, you may end up liking it.

Excellent productions, great talent, and a venue that has plenty of seating, but an intimate feel. Opening Night is a special treat, with an opportunity to meet the actors at a post-production reception with snacks and a glass of sparkling. An affordable and enjoyable evening!

Nice theatre that offers really cheap tickets to University of Tennessee students. Unfortunately, the process of getting student tickets online is not the most straightforward. I have always have been impressed with the quality of the shows.

This was my first time at Clarence Brown Theater. This place is fantastic. The actors were good, the performance was good, and the stage/props where first rate. Ill never hesitate to see another show at Clarence Brown Theater.

Candide , collaboration between Clarence Brown Theatre and KSO, is an incredibly exciting performance. The costumes were works of art that would allow a less perfect performance be to enjoyed. Everything came together so well. Knoxville is very fortunate.

VIOLET A HIT! Went to see a preview of Violet last Friday night because Charlotte Munson, who was the fabulous lead in South Pacific last spring, is cast in the title role again, plus the promise of a wide range of Southern music. Her voice is an absolute treasure! The music and musical talent on stage were an absolute delight!

The first time I was there I really liked the atmosphere that is created once the curtain goes up, lights, applause and the butterflies in your stomach; everything that forms part to live the show in person this place knows how to capture. I really enjoy it

We are fortunate to have this very professional theatre in Knoxville. We have been going for several years. Its always a joy; never a disappointment. The Clarence Brown at UT definitely adds to our quality of life.

Just an Awesome place

Absolutely so hot in the Theater you could not enjoy the play. It was reported to the staff but nothing was changed. I will not attend another one unless I can be guaranteed to have some kind of air flow. Terribly miserable.

My wife and I have enjoyed several shows at the CBT, most recently Outside Mullingar. We had seats near the back but could still see and hear perfectly. The steep rake helps with visibility. Also, the seats are more comfortable than the Bijou or Tennessee Theatres.

Ticket price to production quality ratio is excellent.

I may be a bit biased having worked there for seven years, but having been in entertainment for 20+ years also makes me a bit judgemental.... having said that, the Clarence Brown Theatre is a treasure.Theatre is an experience and the CBT delivers.... free parking, excellent curb appeal, plenty of bathrooms (you heard that right--they went from 4 to 14 womens stalls this year), great sightlines from every seat in all three theatres, amazing acoustics, disability accommodations of every form, and an unparalleled team of artists (resident, student, and from around the globe) all of which delivers better than most major venues be it Atlanta, Chicago, LA, or New York.Theres something for everyone at the CBT whether its produced by the company or someone else, and the prices hover in the realm of a night at the Cinebar with concessions a quarter of the price.Im frankly at a loss as to how anyone in the region doesnt take advantage of this jewel and amazed at how the company manages to sustain such production value.Whether you live here or youre just passing through, check out whats showing.
