Ketchikan is often called the Gateway to Southeast Alaska as it is the southernmost city on the Inside Passage, and cruise ships often stop over in Ketchikan as either the first or last port of call on Alaska cruises.

This is an amazing little place to walk around and window shop or grab a beer. The view is awesome and the buildings give you an old fishing town vibe.

Fun place to visit except for all the cruise ships that dropped the thousands of people off at around the same time. Would of been a fun place to explore without it being over crowded.

Colourful buildings elevated above a creek filled with Salmon and seals. A neat way to spend a few hours! The shops a long Creek Street offer a wide variety of souvenirs and great gifts to bring home.

Great historical area of town with outdoor shops ,,,,views of the river and colorful houses . One of the best parts of our visit to area. Good restaurants downtown but a little pricier for fresh food than I expected.

What a beautiful little area. Tucked back in an unsuspecting part of town, but just a short little walk from the cruise docks. It is worth walking over to see the history that almost looks frozen in time.

If you dont mind the horses of tourists it can be a way to spend the day. Creek street is a bit crowded for my tastes though.

Creek Street in Ketchikan surpassed my expectations. That was one of the most beautiful places in the cities Ive visited in Alaska. The colorful building reflect in the water. I loved the small retailers with great souvenirs.

A walk along historic Creek Street with its preserved buildings from another time. Many buildings have specialty shops targeting the many tourists off Cruise Ships. Enjoyed taking photos and looking through the shops.

You cant miss this place when you visit Ketchikan.... The salmon spawn up this creek and you see them swim up the creek. Quite spectacular.. There was a Seal swimming around in between the shops feasting on the Salmon.. I love the shops they have cool souvenirs and the locals that run the different shops are quite nice and ready to share a story or two about the place... The shops also have high end souvenirs of quality.. Depending on what cruise ship your on depends if you find this place. At the dock go right and then when you get to the end head for the hills and youll hit this place.

Cozy little shopping area that is quaint and repetitive. But if you are in the area you really should check it out. This section of town has more local owners and towns people than the main drag in town. Nice place to take pictures also.

Mi

Some great shops selling all sorts of goods made by locals (not cheap imports). The street itself is very picturesque with some good places to eat whilst looking over the river. Close to the cruise ship docks, 5 mins walk.

Your typical cruise-town touron trap -- but everyone is very friendly, and theres zero pressure to buy anything -- even if youre trying whatever free stuff theyre giving away (salmon on crackers, confections, popcorn, you name it, theyre handing out free tastes everywhere). With no pressure to buy, its fun just to walk around and try things out. (And, of course, we made purchases, too....)
