Love this place, becomes magical when the rights acts are being showcased.

Great night if food and theatre. Wish I had taken more photos through the evening. Such a beautiful outdoor area, the buildings, the fountain path... the outdoor theatre seating was comfortable. They do offer seat pad for rent/purchase- cant recall which one.Buffet selection was way yummy. Bathrooms were abundant! Like on one of the floors, theres a zillion stalls. Will be back to just walk around the grounds.

First time great time! There is ample parking and the venue itself is easy to get to. The sight lines to the stage are very good. There are plenty of bathrooms and concessions. Sound was good. Exiting might have bee the easiest Ive ever seen. Multiple exits from venue and parking lot made it nice as well.

I was surprised how nice the outdoor theatre is. Everything was nice and clean. Bathrooms had many many stalls, there actually wasnt a line even during intermission. There are a few big fans that helps keep it cooler. Two big screens to help you see even better. Fantastic place.

I took my mom and sister to see Wizard of Oz. Weve all seen, been a part of a production, and/or acted in The Wizard of Oz many times throughout our lives. I feel like every time I see it performed, it gets better. Theres no place like Starlight! The writer of this production even added a few unique lines and mannerisms to the characters, but the original plot and storyline remains the same. Special effects have really improved as well over the years. Ive seen dozens of shows (mostly concerts) at Starlight. Its a wonderful and well maintained (i.e. beautiful) venue. When the weather cooperates, theres no other place Id rather see a show in KC. Theres a variety of menu options, snacks, and beverages with nice areas to sit and enjoy them before the show starts (if youre early). Still kind of $$$, but no worse than concessions at a movie theater (these days). Hope you enjoy what ever event youre attending as much as we did. Thank you!

What a great experience! First class facility! Very nice, everything is in good condition for an outdoor theatre, nothing old and run down like other similar facilities Ive been to. Parking is good too. Concessions reasonably priced at the event I attended.

This place is too cool! Designed like an old school theatre, it has a fun vibe. Seating isn’t covered which is kind of a shame, but we went in the dead of summer and it was fine as soon as the sun ducked below the horizon. We paid for parking when we booked our tickets which worked nicely, and they’ve got the traffic flow designed so you don’t have to sit forever to get out which is awesome. We live 4 hours away but wouldn’t hesitate to come back if someone we really wanted to see was playing.

Wonderful KC tradition! We are so blessed to have something like Starlight in our town! Its such a neat experience...every one should make it a priority to go. The Broadway shows are always top-notch. Highly recommend going...you wont be disappointed!

I enjoyed the show at their indoor theater. The security and concessions seemed about right and the service staff was friendly. There really isnt a bad seat indoors.

What an amazing experience!! This was my first time at Starlight Theatre and we saw The Illusionists!! Fantastic venue, friendly/helpful staff, parking is a breeze, lots of food/drink options. Fun for the WHOLE family. Cant wait to come back again!

Absolutely love this venue! Been here for a couple of concerts and it’s always so nice. You are able to see the stage from any seat. Drink & Food vendors aren’t too far away. Bathrooms are pretty clean and never a long wait. I’m ready for another show here!

The sound quality was great in the theater area. Maybe this was the bands choice but they sure could have placed the vertically mounted speaker columns in the sides some other place, maybe out farther from the stage. As my pictures show, they were major obstacles for us in the wing areas. But other than that, it was a good experience. Parking was convenient and there were plenty of spaces too accommodate the crowd. I paid a little extra for paved parking and thought it was worth it. Prices were reasonable inside, I thought.

This venue was amazing! You enter and park through the zoo. The lots can easily be remembered by the type of animal it shows - which makes it easier to remember where you parked.The security was really efficient.The venue offers 3 different ground levels of drinks and food that surround stage in a horseshoe shape. They also offer a separate smoking area, which is great so you dont have to smell tobacco as you watch a concert or play. The bathrooms are nice and clean!The seating is great too! Its angled in a way where you dont have to worry about a persons head blocking your view!!

The Groupon purchase for the tickets was pretty darn easy to cycle through the box office window. Priest and Purple put on an incredible show. Everyone we encountered for staff was very friendly and courteous. Noticeably impressive.

My husband and I went to see Motown. The atmosphere was great and very cozy setting. The alcoholic beverages were pretty expensive (large Coors draft was $9). The production was amazing, tho! We are already looking forward to go back. :)

In the few times Ive been to starlight, its always been a great experience. Of course, this is largely dependent on the weather.Ive often sat in the seats farther back and still felt I got a good view of the show.

This was a beautiful venue. The staff were all very friendly, and they had cold air blowing onto the crowd (our section at least) which made it extremely comfortable. In wasnt sure what to expect, but hi to hoy recommend it.

The Starlight is an absolute dream of a venue. Its just perfect! I Uber in, so I am not familiar with any parking issues. The grounds and venue have always been very clean. Not certain there is a bad seat in the house.Going again in September, and I cant wait. Many happy memories have been made here!

I love this venue! The entire place is very clean, including the bathrooms. The staff are all super friendly. Theres really no bad seat in the amphitheatre. Cant wait for my next concert there!

It was a beautiful day for a Kids Bop concert! My daughter had a ton of fun. That is a great venue for a dad to take his daughter for her 1st concert. Didn’t make me nervous one bit and I’m kind of a nervous guy to tell the truth.

I have been here just once, but it is such an awesome venue!The stage is easily seen from any seat.The food and drink selections are pretty good.

Just saw Hello Dolly! And it was amazing!! Everything from the sets to the costumes were perfect and i had no idea that there were so many amazingly talented singers and dancers right in my own backyard. The acting was awesome and the humor was witty. It is an outdoor theater so keep that in mind if a temperature controlled environment is a must for you. I will definitely be going back!

I loved it here!! It is so clean, the women’s restroom is the cleanest I’ve ever seen at a venue. The concert was amazing, and I would go back in a heartbeat!!!

We have had season tickets for years. The staff is amazing and go out of thier way to be helpful. The shows are beautiful and very well done. The one downside is you never know what the weather will be but that is also part of the amazing ambiance.done. The only downside is the weather when it is unpleasant but it is an outdoor venue and people

Great venue for a fun show! We saw Culture Club and the B-52s on a rainy September night. The staff was amazing and so much fun! I will go to many shows there in the future.

Always have a great time at Starlight Theater. Venue is great, lots if concessions, and even though it is outdoors the fans and misters help a lot. Plan ahead for your ride and your pick up location, bit other than that, it is always a well put together event.

I think its a great Venue. But they dont offer enough alternative acts. Boy George was the first act I wanted to see and it rained. And I had a good time in a Rain Poncho. The staff was outstanding.

Hands down the best outdoor venue Ive ever been too. It is very easy to navigate while being as large as it is and the stage man the setup guys probably had a field day with stage prep as big as it is and with enough room to really get you phases set up. Staff was great and volunteer workers where very kind. I was at the first Lindsey Sterling Evenesance Concert on the new tour 2018 and they just killed it! Even being 2 seats from the stage it was easy to see everything and the audio was mixed and projected perfectly. I highly recommend this venue for both attendees and performers alike.

The theater is beautiful and it was great to see a parody of one of my favorite shows. The staff was nice, and the stage was set so you could see the show from any angle! Overall loved it.

One of my favorite theaters in town, and they do have great shows every year, so make sure you check out the schedule. Staffs are very friendly, and parking is well organized for big event, so it is easy to get around.

It started to rain during intermission. Ponchos on, enjoy the rest of the show! The wicked witch flew out over the audience in the rain. The costumes were bright and colorful. It was so much fun. Terrific singing voices. We loved everything. Come early to eat dinner at a great value

Such a great venue. Ive been going toplays and musicals here ever since I was a kid. Saw the show Cats this past weekend and it was amazing. The cast did an amazing job. The staff was excellent and helpful. The tickets were well priced. They have giant fans to help cool things down since you are outside(you wont hear them). They have interpreters too! Which is great of you are hard of hearing/deaf. They also have two screens up top showing the performance on the stage in case you cant see it too well from where you are sitting. Id highly recommend going. It would be a great place to go with your kids, family, spouse, friends, and or a date. Just be aware toy are at the weathers mercy and plan accordingly.

Awesome outdoor venue with great seating and views

Alot smaller than it looks in pictures. However it has big sound. The chairs get a little uncomfortable after an HR or so. Would have no problem seeing a show or another concert.

This place is huge! And so beautiful! Took my girlfriend to see the Matchbox Twenty concert not too long ago, and it was absolutely amazing. Would definitely go again

My favorite concert venue in Kansas City! I love the history here, and just being outdoors! Acoustics are great, and theres not a bad seat in the house. Refreshment offerings are plentiful, albeit a little pricey. Great variety of entertainment, as well!

We watched weird Al. Had a great night. Ate dinner here, I had a meatball sub my son had a cheese pizza, great food. The night was nice sound was awesome. Big screen TVs made the night better. Everyone enjoyed themselves.

Visiting from another state and came here for the Bel Biv Divoe concert. Area was bigger than expected, very clean and lots of security. Cant wait to visit again

Always a great place to see a show of any kind. The facility is kept clean and in good condition with plenty of choices for refreshments and handy restrooms.The true heroes are the staff and volunteers. They are all very welcoming and helpful and seem very interested in their guests having a fantastic visit.

Starlight is and always will be one of my favorite venues for concerts and plays. In just this last year, I have been here 6 times for different concerts and plays. There is something about outdoor venues that i just love. Even when its a hot summer night, they are still the most enjoyable in my opinion. I will always choose Starlight if i am given the option. The stage is great, and no matter where you sit, you can see it well enough. On either side of the stage there are also big screens, so if you dont have the best seats, you can still see all the action. The only real complaint i have, is that seats themselves. They just arent comfortable to me, and for a concert thats not a big deal because you wont sit much. But when it comes to seeing plays, i just cant stand sitting on them for ~2 hours. They do allow you to get seat cushions for a couple of dollars in case you need them.

Good view from our seats (centrally located), several vending areas and restrooms. The fries were delicious. Friendly staff. Parking was in the grass and the prices for tickets are a little overpriced. I would be willing the spend the money for the right performance.

Saw Ringo and his all star band. Had a great time. This was my first time at Starlight. The earlier you come the closer you get for parking. Or you can pay an extra $5 for closer Parking. Parking was a smooth in and out. Lots of food choices if you need a meal or a snack. The merch was in short supply due to a train derailment- no fault of theirs. The staff was friendly and helpful. Well be back!

The most incredible venue for shows, concerts, comedians, musicals, etc! Its a beautiful place with the best accommodations - delicious food with tons of options, alcoholic beverages for those interested, nice bathrooms, lots of open space to explore and hang out. Plus they just added a museum to learn the history of the venue!! I would rate it 6 out of 5 stars if I could!! Our favorite place to go for a show.

Starlight is a great little place for a live performance either music or theater. Open air, plenty of good seats in the house. Lots of entrance and exit points for easy access to the spacious parking it shares with the KC Zoo. I really like the open yet comfortable environment of the location.

Sitting under the stars in the Summer at Starlight Theatre watching a play or listening to Pat Benatar belt out the songs when she comes to Kansas City is about as perfect as a night can be.

Great venue, decent priced food, spacious compared to other local venues. Acoustics are very good. Plenty of food choices. Cant say enough good things about it. Staff were very professional and courteous. Parking was decent and exciting after the show was easy and painless.

Great place to watch a show. Atmosphere is great, food options are plenty and they even have fans to help cool and circulate the air. Good viewing of the stage and activities from about any seat in the house. Staff was nice and very helpful. Will return in the future for another show!

Heart & Joan Jett and the Blackhearts were fabulous!! Venue was beautiful and the weather couldnt of been better.

Excellent venue for concerts!!!! There literally is not one bad seat in the whole place! Ive even had them offer free upgraded seating due to possible view obstruction due to precautions being taken for sound equipment when the seating was available (not a sold out show). Never buy beer at the very first option to do so inside the gate though, its much more expensive than the rest. Otherwise, I choose this venue over ALL others between KC and Tulsa if possible during Spring-Fall. Love this place!

Seen Deep Purple and Judas Priest tonite. It was AWESOME!! This is the 2nd time I have been to star light. First time was to see Blue Man group. The theater sitting is easy to find and its always clean. They are very strict in no smoking in the theater part but you can go to the back and smoke. Bathrroms are clean as well and trust me that is a bonus. I will definitely be going back for more shows there.

Love the shows. Always lots of helpful staff. I wish the upper level restrooms were larger, for those of us who struggle with getting to the lower level (ADA seating is in the rear). Not sure yet whether I love the new use of screens. I like to watch the actors, but grin the back, its nice to be able to see more detail on occasion.

The experience is always fantastic. Prices are generally fair to great. Safe atmosphere. Easy parking.

Absolutely 1 of a kind, amazing venue!! Clean, beautiful, comfortable. The absolute best restrooms, tons of food and drink options, beautiful landscaping and fountains. Plus, they allow you to bring in a sealed bottle of water and give complementary cups of water, AND have 11 different places you can go refill your water. I LOVE seeing shows here so much and highly recommend it.

Starlight is in my view one of if not the best outdoor concert venues. With two big screens on either side you are guaranteed to be able to see the show. Seating allows for great viewing of the show. Im amazed at how good the seats are. They are divided into different sections and obviously the closer sections will be the best but even some of the farther seats still allow for good viewing. Food and drink is pricey but thats to be expected. I myself like Leienkugel and they have the Summer Shandy which is nice but like beer at other places it is expensive. 10.50 for one. They have an amazing atmosphere there. I like to get a little early and walk around the place, check out the merchandise stand and all that. They do have a restaurant on the premises. I have not tried it so unfortunately cannot attest to if its good or not.

What an amazing venue to see a show! We had great seats and there were cup holders on the seats in front of us, that were helpful in holding our drinks. They have giant fans helping to cool off the air around the venue. But the flowers and greenery helped the ambience of being in nature to enjoy the show. Great sound system and Tv displays, it’s like you were right up front. It had an intimate feel!

This is one of my favorite venues to patronize when going to shows out of state. Its hard to find a bad seat and the staff have always been nice and helpful for us. We drive down from Omaha, NE on a somewhat regular basis when tours go through KC and not our city. Always worth the trip! The renovated bathrooms are large and kept clean, concessions reasonable, and were find the ticket prices tend to be worth the trip. Ive been there as a contest winner and as a regular paying attendee and have yet to be let down.

Beautiful place to watch a play. But lack of comfort is almost unbearable. Seats are uncomfortable, hard, and close together and if its hot, u better bring your own source of air conditioning. Staff is very respectful and environment is extremely friendly. I personally love it. Prices for food and snacks are bout what u would pay for at a movie theater. Way too over priced.

Updated facilities make this established venue better than ever. The recent addition of the giant fans over the plaza section make even the warmest nights pleasant.Good entertainment choices coupled with a wide variety of food and beverage choices make Starlight a WIN every time.

Was awesome got rained out and stayed to finish wizard of oz anyway. With my daughter 7 years old and we loved it.

What an amazing place to see a show. When the weather is beautiful outside no one wants to be shut inside so being able to enjoy a live action theater show outside is awesome. The venue is clean and very well kept from the landscaping to the public facilities. The outdoor theater is very family friendly so bring the whole crew to enjoy the outdoors and the fine arts.

I love this venue. It gets a little hot for summer events since it is open to the elements. Regardless, the seats are all so good, the facility is really well maintained.Probably the primary negative I have is parking can be a pain since it is in the grass, and getting out can be difficult.

Great opening show for Beautiful even with the background accompaniment of tree frogs, fireworks and train whistles. Love the addition of the tall wind generator fans. Made the 90 degree start of the evening totally enjoyable. Loved the music and the memories

It doesnt get any better than the Starlight Theatre on a beautiful night.The seats are comfortable. The acoustics and visibility are excellent. There are many convenient restrooms and vending stations.Get there before the show to enjoy a BBQ sandwich or burger at a table in one of many patio areas.If you can park on the grass on the west side of the theatre (with your car parked facing west), youll be on your way home after the show in minutes.We counted 12 +/- venues in the Kansas City area where weve seen concerts. Starlight tops them all.

Starlight theatre offers a unique experience for shows since it is an outdoor theatre. They bring in an excellent variation of bands all summer long, their staff is super kind and helpful, and there is plenty of food to choose from. I have been to this venue 3 times now and have never been disappointed.

Really enjoyed our night seeing Greta Van Fleet here. The acoustics were great, parking is convenient and security lines went quickly. The show started on time and the layout of the venue is very convenient.

The Starlight Theatre is an outstanding, outdoor theater in Kansas City, Missouri. There is not a bad seat in the house! I am always amazed at the level of amazing talent that they have come through this place.I have been on several occasions with both family and close friends and had a blast. Great venue for music and plays. Unfortunately the venue has police working as security and they (the police) are a little overzealous. Police want to get in your face and treat you like a criminal for the felonious act of sitting in the grass. Told me I couldn’t be on the grass but then told me I had to sit back down on the grass while they get me some water. Officer Johnson, badge 258, decided he needed to raise his voice and get two inches from my face because I simply asked him if he was giving me an order in his capacity as a police officer or as a security guard for the venue.Other officers told me that they were concerned for my safety (because I was sitting down in the grass.) I advised them that my safety is not their concern. I’ve been taking care of myself for 33 years.Sitting in the grass is allowed, been doing it for years. Other people were sitting in the grass this night as well but they weren’t confronted.I hope starlight holds their glorified security guards accountable. Getting in someone’s face for being in the grass is a bit too much.

Starlight is a great venue. There really isnt a bad seat and the acoustics are awesome! Theres something very cool about seeing a show outside. I love seeing concerts here!

I love going to Starlight. From easy parking options and multiple exits, the process was seamless. The seating is great no matter where they are. There are plenty of food and drink options from a sit down patio experiance to concessions style fare. Drinks range from fresh squeezed lemonade to adult drinks. Staff is friendly and helpful and easy to locate. The sound is good and lighting is more than adequate. I would highly recommend it for shows, concerts or even the Blue Star Event.

Great venue. Easy to get in to. Gate 6 is over-used and Gate 8 was _empty_ when we arrived. Saved at least 15 min by just walking 100 yards.

I would give it 4 stars but their method of entry needs some work. Lines are long and slow. Ive been to other larger amphitheaters where you get in very quickly and they still have metal detectors and bag searches.
