This was my first time here and oh my was it beautiful!! I came here with some friends to see some Opera. We were not disappointed. Everyone was so kind and nice in directing us where to go. The underground parking garage was fantastic, kept the car a little warmer than the outside. The theatre and play and balconies were just stunning! The gift shop was so cute too! Will be back for a souvenir since they were closing when I got out of Opera. Would love to see ballet here!

A true Kansas City treasure! The staff was a collection of the kindest souls the city has to offer. The architecture is one of a kind. Something you must see to believe. There isnt a bad seat in the house. We sat on the top single row and the symphony sound was aw inspiring. The place is organic in a sense that it just becomes natural and comfortable. I simply dont have words to express my experience. You just must go see for yourself.

We love this venue. It is one of the most beautiful performing arts centers I have ever visited. Acoustics are excellent, seats are comfy with adequate leg room, and few poor seats. The lobby areas and views over the city and War Memorial are worth a visit alone. I like that you can reserve a drink for intermission in advance, so you dont have to wait in line.

Going to the symphony is a check off my bucket list. What a great classy experience to have. We have already been three times so far, so I am considering myself a pro.Every single time we have went they have always put on a good show. For a full experience pay more for great seats somewhere in the middle and top. Otherwise if you get seats off to the side the sound will be off.Dress warmly, or you will freeze. The music might not be for everyone. Some composers were high or something to make music symphony of birds? Dont get me wrong thats genius its just that you know that (Rautavaara) composer was getting paid to compose. Art they say. Also sound is even better to listen to with your eyes closed.Great composers that we liked that were played; Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Debussy, Dvorak, Chopin and many more.

Went to the Nutcracker Ballet here. This family friendly event is appropriate for children 6 and older. Its your call if you want to try younger children at the Ballet. Parking is 10$ for the event. There are photos with performers available before and after showing so dress your best and make a memory. Also saw the KC Symphony performance in Helzburg Hall. I cant wait to come back.

Great acoustics and a warm feeling interior. Plenty of different seats for viewing the orchestra or whatever the activity is going on be it the nutcracker or a symphony performance. We sat in section 4, AA seats which let you see the faces clearly of the choir and the musicians. For the Christmas event you can clearly hear the bells being played. My personal favorite is the sing-along.

We listened to a violin concerto. Even though our seats were at almost the highest row we felt we were hearing everything with great quality and integrity. The venue is nice, the seats are easy to find, and the ushers are polite and helpful. The shows are great, but there are a few problems. #1, parking. They have two entrances, and absolutely no idea how many parking spots they have, or need. I was an hour early, and one entrance said they had no spaces left, and directed people to park across the street. They said the parking there was free, but it was labeled as a place that would tow you if you parked there, and Ive seen the videos of how that ends up. Went around the corner, to the other entrance, which was happy to take my $10, and behold the awesomeness, there were many parking spots available. #2, I went to watch the Texas Tenors. They were great, the orchestra was great, but there were details they missed. For a high school performance, it was awesome, but the spotlights missed huge cues, had lights pointed at the wrong person, &etc. One entrance door was always open, spilling distracting light from one side of the stage, the other was closed every time after an entrance/exit, and blended in with the background. I know these are niggly details, but for the price of the tickets, I expect to see professionals at work, and Ive seen high school performances pulled off cleaner.

First time, great environment, great staff!Side note, this was hosted by Advent Health so the CEO opened the show with a 20 minute speech. This was my first time to a Symphony Orchestra, I was viewing the Pictures at an Exhibit. For someone like myself who knows little musically, the night was still amazing! Even a lay patron can appreciate the beautiful music that resonates within these walls. Seating is all good, but you get what you pay for. I sat in the upper Grand Tier, rather high with little leg room, still enjoyable. In the future I will opt for something closer to the orchestra, lower so I dont have to lean over the rail to see. While I was dressed rather fancy, it is not the norm unless requested. Most patrons were in business casual, some in jeans and a button up. There are multiple bars serving alchoholic and non-alcoholic beverages during the intermission(s). Plenty of places to stand while you wait for the doors to open and many scenic areas to view beautiful downtown Kansas City!

Not a fan of this venue. The building itself is beautiful and a wonderful sight but the theater was underwhelming. I had a orchestra level seat. I have gone to shows in a lot of theaters in the U.S. and this was the poorest experience Ive ever had. The seat had no leg room and if you are taller than 58 you will be uncomfortable. The majority of the staff were friendly and helpful but not all. When all the seats cost over $100 I expect all of the staff to be among the best.Parking was reasonable and accessible but sidewalks and walkways on the exterior were allowed to become slick with snow for patrons leaving the venue. Not a nice way to end the night after a painful cramped experience in the seating. Lighting and sound were both very good before, after and during the show. I will look to other venues in the future for my theater experience.

I have been to the Kauffman Center twice now, with intentions of going back as often as I can. I love there there is attached parking available, we didnt have to walk through the weather. The inside is gorgeous, its a really neat building. There are a few bars placed around inside to grab a drink, the Christmas show I went to even had a Grinch themed drink. The seats are comfortable and there is a pretty decent amount of room, I am tall. Our first seats were a little close, but the second time we sat in one of the balconies and there was plenty of room and a great view. The performances so far have all been great. The ONLY thing I do not love, at least to my knowledge, there is one stairway and one elevator for everyone to exit the building to the parking area. This means, be prepared to wait in a line of people all the way to the garage unless you leave the show early. Also I feel awful for the people who have to use the elevator, they were forced to just sit and wait in a cluster at the one elevator. Other than that design flaw, going to the Kauffman Center has been a wonderful time!

The Kauffman is an amazing place. I went this evening for dinner at the restaurant. A celebration! However, there were performance scheduled at each of the 2 stages, and on a very cold night EVERYONE wanted to use the parking garage. I spent 20 minutes waiting to make a turn onto the street in order to access the garage. Traffic was gridlocked in all directions. But, parking aside, my experience was great. The casually designed restaurant is on the street level, with very convenient access from the main entrance. A limited 3-course menu with fixed prices assures that the dishes will be prepared well. Our servers were friendly & knowledgeable. Good variety of wine & cocktails. Kind of pricey, so is a good place for a special event.

Excellent venue for the arts! Order drinks and finish before you watch, OR have them ready for intermission. The trick from the parking garage can be a bit daunting, but there are very friendly and helpful staff to guide you along the way. Parking is $10, best to pay in cash. Be wary of ordering concert tickets from third partys - there may be a discrepancy with seats and names, plus an up-sale in price. However, you can address the issue at the ticket desk before you enter.
