Nice for history great live band but no food

Such a needed and necessary place. Jazz was born and musicians formed here at the Mutual Musicians foundation! 18th and Vine was born in these historic spaces.

The mutual musicians foundation is a sustaining living primary source of Jazz music and its history that will forever live in my heart.

If you love history and great jazz music and you are a musician this is a place to go but beware they dont open till 1 oclock in the morning on the week end. Tips are greatly appreciated.

Jazz, after hours bar, its dope for the type of music they play, but they close at 5 a.m.

Im used to Beef o Bradys on Bourbon st, so this was very dull in comparison... but the Saxaphone player upstairs was BADASS!!

Live music and a 10.00 cover charge. Causal atmosphere and beverages. You have to climb stairs to listen but its worth the trek. I left at 3:15 am and band was in full force. Sorry dont remember everyones name but remembered James or Jay Ward on guitar.

As a jazz vocalist, Ive been going here for over 35 years. Good place for new musicians to get their feet wet and seasoned musicians to keep their chops fine tuned. I remember the local and national artists past and present that I have seen here and have had the pleasure and honor to share a stage from Claude Fiddler Williams, Jay McShan, Sonny Kenner, Ahmad Papa Doo Aladeen, Frank Smith, Dahoud, Richard Ross and many others who came after their club gig to sit in and jam. It was magical and the magic is still in the building. Go experience the only late night jam session till the early morning hours. You wont be disappointed.

So full of history you wont want to leave. If you can stay up late the Saturday night shows are amazing. It also now houses Kohj 104.7 radio station.

Historically significant spot to enjoy cocktails and live music after hours Friday and Saturday nights. Javier and James, and all the staff, are amazing. Every time.

Went up there for my cousins bachelor party and had an amazing time. The building has a rich history, staff was cool and the musicians put on a great show. Felt like i was at a friends watching them jam and having a good time. This place is a must see for any musician. Be respectful and keep talking to a minimum, people go to hear the music not your loud after hours talking because you dont want to go home. (I assume anyone saying the staff was rude probably should have taken their drunk asses home. If you arent interested in the music dont come!)

My favorite place after 2AM. It stays open until really late and has a liquor license. You can listen to Jazz upstairs or to some freestyle piano downstairs. If youre a musician, feel free to join!

I have heard about the jazz jam sessions at this historic jazz place. I arrived about 1 am and that was too early. The Mutual Musicians Foundation patrons start coming about 2 am or 3 am. I really enjoyed the jazz jam with a combination of new and old talent. This is where the musicians come to perform after the other clubs have closed for the night.

Good vibes but listen the drinks are small and there is a cover but once you are inside the atmosphere is wonderful and its open till 5am so its an awesome place to chill and cool off after any shift.

The jam sessions remind me of my child growing up with my grandmother, she lived on music like food. We went to sleep listening, singing and dance and arouse to the vibe of its magic...Music still is my passion!!!

Loved it. Saw a drummer kick ass. Open until supposedly 6am. Only problem is that its cash only and you have to open a tab at the front door.

I had no idea this place existed and when I discovered it, it was a real treat. Countless musicians that played here over the past century and new ones will come of age here.It has crazy hours of operation. I think on the weekends it is open from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m.

Wonderful place enjoyed myself will visit again soon Me and my niece loved Shes also returning.

If you are coming to Kansas City, this is the place to be on Fridays & Saturdays between 1am & 5am.Also Rickey Ramsey puts on A comedy show the First Fridays of each month. 2 shows 7pm & 9pm.

The MMF isnt the place it used to be. Its management is horribly rude to say the best. You wont find late night jam sessions, just a bunch of drunks looking for an after hours spot.
