If you want to step back in time, this is your place. The outside is completely nondescript and almost looks abandoned, but once you go inside, its glorious. Its dark and covered in red velvet, and its a true speakeasy feel. The drinks are awesome, and youre guaranteed to hear some great jazz.

The Green Lady Lounge, is another one of Kansas City‘s best kept secrets. This jazz club, located in the heart of downtown Kansas City is quite likely the best jazz club that I have ever attended. Featuring the rich history, sounds, sights and delicacies of a bygone era. This is simply a wonderful place to spend an evening, with friends, family, or on a date. If you enjoy the history of Kansas City, and all that jazz offers – you owe yourself a trip to this wonderful establishment. Just a heads up, you will need to plan ahead this establishment is always packed.

My favorite jazz club in the city. Too bad the Corona virus has effected their business. They are still open as of this review 9/2/20, but there is no live music right now. However, their other bar, The Black Dolphin, next door is offering live music but theres a $5.00 cover charge now. Fair price for a good time

Great music, drinks, and overall atmosphere. Went here for the first time last Summer, while visiting KC. They were pretty packed. We’d only had a couple drinks, and then stayed a few hours while drinking just water, but the servers were very attentive and never failed to keep our glasses full. Cannot praise the staff here enough.

Visiting Green Lady Lounge for an evening makes you feel like youve been transported back in time to the great Jazz era. With low-light upstairs and downstairs venues, we had the option to choose between an instrumental Jazz trio or piano and vocals. Always a great place to sit down, be immersed in the music and enjoy a good cocktail.

This place is incredible, the love music and no cover are fantastic. Also there is a server there named Cameron (I think) (red curly hair) she is always smiling and super friendly. She never let me run out of water and I wanted to thank her for making sure that I was okay because my friend was intoxicated. Youre a very kind person, so I hope you read this, so thank you. I think you left because my water was full or your shift was over. Well thank you again!

This is a great place to come and listen to live Jazz music. No cover charge to get in! The decor is fun and relaxing. This would be a great place to take a date after dinner. They have several fun cocktails to try that are average price. Our server was fantastic. I wish I had gotten his name. I love that the give you a large container of water as soon as you sit down. If you like jazz and are over 21, you should check this place out. There was a wide age range of people when we were there. Well be back soon!

I love coming here any day of the week. The atmosphere is sexy, sophisticated, and makes you feel like you’re in an old jazz club where the walls are velvet and the mood feels more like the 20s/40s than 2019. I would highly suggest going and bringing friends - it can be crowded - so if you see a chair. Grab it while you can. There is a basement and a main floor both are equally as charming but personally I love the basement.

Relaxing atmosphere, the musicians did a great job. We got there early, only the bartender was there, by the time we left the waitress staff and another bartender had arrived. There is no food served here. There pictures are a little misleading, its darker than it appears. Overall, very pleased, its definitely not a whole in the wall dive. I think there should be some kind of food at any establishment that serves alcohol, its the only reason for 4 stars.

Great decor and drinks. The ambience is pretty cool. My main concern is that the last few times Ive gone there theyve had no diversity in the musicians on stage. Id think it was a coincidence, but a friend has noticed the same thing. I think they could do a better job of representing the city and its jazz legacy.

Perfect date venue. Its low lighting (and I look SO much better when its darker), the band was great, told the bartender I wanted a fruity vodka drink and he made me something melon, which most bartenders go straight for strawberry and I hate the seeds. Green Lady lounge is an old school throw back. 1920s vibe. Lots of old white people that look wealthy. The ambiance is warm, with muted lighting and an inviting atmosphere. When Its really busy on the weekends its too busy, too loud. Need to come up with a solution to the bathroom problem. Jazz is really, really good. Only things is that I have been five times and everytime its white people playing jazz. Whats up with that?? Drinks are fast and well priced. Bartenders are very social.

This was an interesting experience...Pros:The music was fabulousIt was an intimate settingThe staff was extremely friendlyThe low lighting means you can skimp on the makeup or wear your comfy clothesWe loved the speak-easy feel of the placeCons:The lighting was waaayyy low. I had a hard time being confident walking around the establishment. Plus there was a couple that seemed to be emboldened by the low lighting in the booth next to us. If thats the kind of establishment theyre trying to run, then Im only upset that I wasnt aware of it to take advantage. Our drinks were less than ideal. We tried both a signature cocktail and a basic rum and Coke, and neither were enjoyable. I dont know if we just had a very heavy handed bartender or if our palettes arent hipster enough for this bar, but we couldnt finish either drink. All in all, we might go back again. Probably only for the music and the friendly staff, though.

Hands down the best jazz bar ever!!! We went last Sunday and had a great time. I didn’t catch the band’s name but I think both of their names were Max, they perform every Sunday and Monday night till the end of December. What a great place to see live jazz and enjoy a cocktail or two! This venue is huge, and the staff is very cool. Its basically two big, long rooms, one of which is downstairs, and the no-cover acts are really impressive. They keep music going and continue serving late on the weekends, which seems to make it a big draw for a much younger crowd, who is mostly respectful. Bands on the first floor, perform with the crowd seated all around, as well as behind them, lending a unique feature to the space. While this isnt a place to watch jazz in observant silence, its a very fun atmosphere with both tons of seating and room to dance on the carpet. If this place had wood floors, it would be flawless.
