Love this place. Course is not perfect, but very fair/good shape. There are long holes, challenging holes, but also really fun ones that with a great drive you can almost reach the green and it’s wide open with plenty of room to go left or right on most holes. Greens are in good shape, a little slow, but no damage. Fairways are good, tee boxes are a little choppy but not bad. I just love this course because you don’t have a bunch of people crowded up or hitting back and forth towards each other on opposite holes. A lot of the same people play the course and are really respectful and friendly. No issues with having people hit balls into your back on the same hole. It’s not an over the top fancy golf course, but it’s a lot of fun and they take great care of it. For the price I can honestly say it’s the best value for a round in KC. $25-$35. Wouldn’t pay $50 for their peak early morning prices, but the rates good down around 11 am. Very reasonable place to play.

Not bad at all today royal. Enough quality course to play some golf to. Fairways arent immaculate but they are doable. Different yardage par 3s and some decent par 4s. Hills can help and hurt.

Horrible customer service. ... i called about a tournament, and the lady I spoke to in the shop was extremely rude after waiting on hold for 15 minutes... i couldnt finish asking my question before she interrupted me to tell me the tournament had been canceled... I was gonna ask about a tee time, but before I could, she aggressively hung up on me. The reviews speak volume, they dont respond to negative feedback.

Course in very good shape

Place is great for beginning golfers. Course is straight forward and is a walkers dream.

The marshalls are a joke. Threatening to shut off our carts when first told not to do a group of 5. I Understand a group of 4 is the norm. Just asked if we could and got a rude comment like described above. Also we got accused of jumping groups when we actually let faster golfers ahead of us. Another time the front desk person told us it was not cart path only and then got yelled at by the Marshall on the course. Terrible to customers.

We are under a stay at home order and this place is nonessential yet they are open with about 60+ cars in their parking lot along with a group of about 15 people standing around in close proximity of each other talking

I dont believe it is worth $40 on the weekends, its not a good value. Lots of rough spots in the fairways and around the greens.

The round was fine until the last four holes. My group of three was stuck behind another group of three who didnt care to keep pace at all. It was getting late and we feared we wouldnt be able to finish our 18. The course warden spoke with the group ahead of us in an attempt to hurry them along (Im guessing). We mentioned they were doing a lot of standing around instead of playing golf. We got to the second to last hole and decided it was too late to finish the round. We told the warden we were going to head out. Hurrying to get the cart back to the pro shop, I left my sunglasses in the cart. I didnt notice I had left my sunglasses until I was already on the road for 5 minutes or so. I turned around and went back to the pro shop. When I asked another one of the course wardens if they had seen my glasses in any of the carts, I was chastised. He claimed if I would have gotten in earlier, I wouldnt have forgotten my glasses. I held my tongue. Not only did the course management not manage rate of play, they were critical of me making a mistake after having to end my round early. I will not be returning to play at Royal Meadows.

It will be much better once the fairways fill in with the new grass.

Wide open, little trouble. Should be able to shoot low here, but I rarely do! Fairways are mostly in rough shape, bunkers usually rough. Rough is rough.Hackers course so greens have many balls marks and bunkers often go unraked.Fun because its wide open.

Pretty fun golf course. Went there last week for a work event and had a blast. Grass was pretty dead in spots but cant blame that on them since we havent gotten much rain recently.

Always liked this course. Now that Great Life owns the course, i am sure we will see great improvements. Come out and check out the course and Great Life memberships. Trll them Jim W. sent you!

In the midst of a zoysia grass conversion, its a little rough, but shows real promise for when it grows in. And several real good holes.

The worst course in Kansas City area. I would never golf here even for free. They grouped everyone at noon and had to wait 30 minutes every hole. The fairways are dead and any good drive you have you are hitting off the dirt. I would give it a negative 1 star if I could.

Fun place for a round of golf.

First time there. Is one of the worst course I played this year. Fairway condition is bad. Front 9 greens are bad, back 9 still ok. I will not go back because I only get to play once a week and will not spend my precious time here.

Last Monday (8-15-16) I was visiting relatives in KCMO so I decided to play a round of golf. It had been 30 years since I last played on this course it was named different and had 27 holes. Now of course there are 18. PROS: The senior rate with cart was only $29 and I was able to get right on the course without a tee time. There were several porta-potties on the course which was nice for old dudes. CONS: The course is in TERRIBLE shape! Fairways are bare with spotty grass here and there. Senior tees hadnt been mowed in a while. The people who use this course obviously dont know (or care) about fixing ball marks on the greens. Greens were unpredictable, one fast the next hadnt been mowed properly and was slow. One green actually had mushrooms growing on it! It looks like they were in the process of sodding # 10 and might be trying to fix another fairway. This used to be a nice course but even though its inexpensive to play I dont recommend it. Management needs to train their maintenance staff! Neglect and or ignorance is the only way a course deteriorates to this condition. Sad. Ill gladly pay more money to play on a well maintained course. And no, I dont care how cold the beer is. The low cost is the only reason I give this course 2 stars.

Customer service is lacking from every employee at this course. Pace of play is around 6-7 hours for 18 holes. The course is dead yellow and poorly maintained. The course promised a Marshall but only saw him once at the proshop when we turned. If you want to have a terrible Saturday come to this course, otherwise spend more money and go to a better course. Oh and no five somes even if you are keeping pace with every group on the course.

Play here a lot over the years ,But the last time i was there my car got vandalize.When you come into the parking you have too cameras on poles and signs stating 24 hour surveillance.Had too wait 4 days for the mgr TIM MURDDOCK too call me too say his cameras point only at the exits(total B S) not the parking lot..So i check with the other Great Life Golf clubs and was told they cover the whole parking lot.So this place is poorly mantain and managed

The course was GREAT! The greens really stick. Shots 3 under my handicap, and the Beer was cold.

The staff is excellent but the patrons leave a lot to be desired. Seems to be a lot of drunk younger adults who have no respect for the game.
