I love Painted Hills!! The staff is very friendly and courteous. Ive been going here about a year.Nice staff.The atmosphere is perfect to workout in.The monthly price is beyond reasonable. Its almost criminal(its very low).You dont have to wait in large lines on equipment. I love that the numbers are low during the day. I went to another gym in the past and I hated the large numbers of people. I love this place. I highlyrecommend it!!!!

As a beginner in the sport of golf, I find Painted Hills to be a course for the intermediate golfer or better. It is lined with trees, greens defended by sandy bunkers and water ways that separates the Tees from the Fairways; not to mention greens blinded by hills and long dog legs. the greens are fun to try and read but can vary from fast to slow. Very well kept but a bit pricey. However, whatever level of golfer you are, fun is to be had at the Painted Hills Golf Course. I definitely recommend a round on this Course for a day of friendly banter and sportsmanship. Fooooooore!

The club house Booked 2 of us behind a league tournament that was very slow. Over the course of 2 hours we only were on hold 6, we decided to call it a day and get a rain check. NOPE! They told us too bad! once you pay you pay. I’m speaking for myself but this is the only course I’ve been to that refused a rain check. It really left a bad impression in my opinion and for that reason will not be going back to painted hills.

Relatively forgiving course with a few challenging holes mixed in. Greens and fairways are in great shape, price is fair, fun course to play.

Friendly pro shop staff, polite and considerate patrons on the course, well maintained course even for a late winter outing. Cant wait to return and contemplating an upgrade to membership!

This place is sad, they don’t take care of it at all, they don’t water it, everything is hard, they don’t mow the grass, they spend no money on their course, this is one sad experience. I got her today, I will not be back.

Lack of enforcement on ensuring patrons follow the rules. No one cleans machines before or after use. No employees in the gym.

A good good course that has a few holes that need some work. Drainage was an issue on two on the holes in the back 9. Sand traps were soggy.. granted it rained the day before. There are some great long drive holes that have forgiving fairways and some par 3s that take some skill. We lost a few balls in the first rough which was frustrating, but overall we do enjoy this course. Will certainly go back.

Great layout demanding strategy over distance. Greens are in good shape, tee boxes and fairways are okay with some in better shape than others.

It was ok. Far from good, not absolutely terrible.It’s pretty damn expensive for the quality of the course though.We went out last Sunday. This was the first day to stay in the 80s and not in the 100s in roughly three weeks. And they closed the front nine for maintenance. Lucky we were on ten but it meant everyone on the course was now shoved to the back nine. This was at noon, on the nicest day in three weeks on a Sunday. Who made that decision?!The greens are not great. The course it’s self is ok. Kind of tight.There are hardly any signs. we got lost no less than 3 times. It’s laid out in a way that makes very little sense. The tea boxes don’t show a picture of the whole so sometimes your showing blind with really no idea if your aiming in the right direction. It’s not a big thing, but it’s annoying and lazy, and I feel it’s a good representation of the course as a whole.If the course cost maybe half of what it does, it would be fine. But at the coast per round it is, it’s not worth it. I wouldn’t recommend and won’t be going back.

No driving range and although there is a putting green, I wouldnt count it. The fairways are tight to adjacent holes and errant shots will have a landing zone that you cant see....for this reason, ive had several players on those adjacent steal my ball. Other than that, place is cheap enough and long enough to still be a good time.

Great staff and super fitness center

This is my first and last time at this course. They completely overbook their course to the point of frustration for all golfers. I even called in to schedule my tee time days in advance, rather than book online. Nobody enjoys spending a considerable amount of time waiting between shots & holes. Some golfers asked to tee off of 10, which the Marshall did not allow. This did not make sense to me as nobody was on the back 9. I suppose this course just loves a bottle neck of golfers. The golfers in front of us (there is 3 of us & 3 of them) were upset that there was a 1 person and a 2 person that were not playing together. The Marshall drove right by without saying a word. It took nearly 3 hours to play 9 holes. The entirety of the time spent on the course, not one beverage cart person was operating. If you are going to slow your course down, then have beverage people working. Especially since their one water jug was EMPTY.

I used to play here a lot and really enjoyed it. Great life took over last year and I just now played it since the new management. Absolutely terrible. Re sodding fairways that weren’t bad in the first place in my opinion. Most tee boxes were completely bare dirt! All that is somewhat forgivable cause it’s not an easy/fix. We played on Sunday afternoon and the first cut off fairways was at least ankle tall grass. The course had not been mowed in at least a solid week maybe longer. Paid $4 per beer after I asked if they had coolers for rent in which cashier said yes. He put my three beers ($12) in a plastic bag. Not a cooler by an means! I will never play here again!

Its a good golf coarse to improve your game, we had a good time. Get there early if you want to play through. It got a little backed up.

A beautiful place to host an event.

Quiet and pleasant. I have a gym membership with them and theres always equipment available for my workout.

Value course. $27 through GolfNow. Played first round of year, and greens were reasonable, fairways striped with zoysia last year, so pretty uneven with early spring growth. Pace was a little slow at almost 5 hrs. Try to get one of the newer blue carts to add more value.

Neat little layout but course not in good shape after hot dry summer. Greens in good shape but more weeds than grass in the rough and the zoysia still hasnt gotten a foothold in the fairways. Hope they put some money into this fall and get it back in shape.

Played here today as a non member. I’ve never seen a course as rough as this one. If google would have let me rate lower than 1 star i would have. Fairways had grass/weeds that were 6 inches tall and the 2nd cut was impossible to find a ball in.. greens also haven’t been mowed in some time making it impossible to putt. This isn’t golf. I would be ashamed if i were a GreatLife member.

This was by far the worst golf course I’ve ever played. Horribly maintained. Weeds everywhere, rarely mowed which leaves dead grass all over the 2nd cut and bare spots on the tee boxes, fairways and greens. Do not waste your time or money. I wish I could give it negative stars.

Worst course in the city. Looked like an abandon golf course- not even an exaggeration. All dirt tee boxes, a dusting of sand/dirt in the bunkers (mainly weeds) and 70% of fairways were dead or just weeds, the rough looked like it hadn’t been cut in weeks and full of weeds and dandelions. Unfortunately paid $30 and that was a “deal”..

I learned to play golf here for the 4 years I lived in Kansas City. Played a lot of other courses but generally found Painted Hills to be the best bang for the buck. Course is tough for the first time or two you play it, due to several holes with blind tee shots, but after you get the hang of it, it is pretty playable. I always found the course conditions to be pretty good for the money (except the bunkers which need more frequent care). The redesign a few years ago definitely helped the course. I cant speak to the current condition as I moved out of KC, but I did play it last summer and thought it was still well maintained. Although I live in California now and get to play a lot of good courses, I always look forward to playing painted hills when I come back to KC.

We are not golfers...but the event space for weddings and parties is AMAZING for the price. The Chefs menu is awesome and the food is SUPERB! My daughters Sweet 16 was there and the space and patio lightning made for an elegant and exciting evening.

Nice course. All the wet weather has caused a few bad spots in the fairway.

In the​ middle of sodding the fairways. Had one hole completely closed and path only for a couple other holes. Would be nice to know ahead of time. No tee box markers anywhere. Tee boxes were in terrible shape. In the past, this has been a decent course for the money.

Attended my husbands 50th class reunion. The location was easily accessible off of Parallel Parkway, a major thoroughfare in KCK. The food was delicious - especially the brisket - and the desserts were numerous and delicious as well. The dance floor was generous with an intimate feel to it. And there was an adjacent patio available for more guests, or just picture taking, which was nice. Accessible bathrooms nearby and polite wait-staff. Would definitely recommend for events and parties.

I went there to look into their work out facility... I was not impressed!!! I was even less impressed with their contract!!! Im not a fan for throwing away my hard earned money!!!

Course was in as bad a shape as any I have played. Not a bad layout, but just incredibly neglected groundskeeping.

Great place to enjoy a round of golf with friends. The green and fairways are well maintained all year around.

Played here in late April. They had just aerated the greens, and failed to mention this when we were scheduling our tee time. Ive played on plenty of greens that have been recently aerated before, but I have never played on greens in a worse condition than these. The ball would essentially skip across the green when you putt, and they were miserably slow. When I mentioned how bad the greens were rolling during the turn we essentially got laughed at. They did not offer anything to rectify this situation. Hopefully this has been taken care of since then, but I wont be back to play here regardless.

If you want to walk this is not your course . $43.00 to walk Sat. This is one of the easiest to walk in the area.To say it is slower to walk is not accurate in my experience. My buddy and I were 4 holes ahead of the 2 riding that started right after us.Some bunkers were dried MUD . NOT WORTH THE MONEY

Terrible course in a sketchy area! Last time I played there, a man was shot at while he was putting!!! Turns out there happened to be a drive-by that happened between kc community college and the golf course! Police were everywhere and the course forced all the golf to play the back-9 holes only. After leaving early due to concern of the incident, I ended up not even getting okd to finish my round on another day... pretty bad service right there. Havent been back since then and I never plan on going back because the course is simply overpriced for the quality that it has.

Horrible. last year I was seeing improvements..Yesterday, the worst shape ever..I wont be back. Dead spots on the greens, fairways and tees are losing grass, they cant even keep the water coolers full. If players keep showing up there is no motivation to improve anything. Bye!
