When I first walked in I was concerned. Quickly the room filled with people, and the show started. The comedians were brilliant, and truly funny. The show was enjoyable, and something we will return to see often. Its a fun night for those hanging out in the area.

This is Kansas Citys best venue for Improv Comedy. The rotating cast members have always put on a great show. They also host local and national groups. It is always a great time! They also offer classes if during the show you think, I could do that! Drop-in classes on Saturday afternoon are a fun way to spend the time. Go see a show!!

I had a hard time finding this place because it is inside if a coffee shop in the basement. If you are looking for a low key now grill joint this will fit your style. The show was about 60 minutes, funny. Not sure I would go back but it was fun.

We went here for my fiances birthday. SPECTACULAR show. Friday night was decidedly not family friendly (which we knew; Saturday is, however) but it was hilarious. Im not sure we ever stopped laughing. My biggest gripe had nothing to do with the content or quality, just that the ~45 minute show didnt have an intermission so I couldnt comfortably grab another drink without disturbing others or missing something. But still five stars, no doubt.

Valentines day we are here and we are highly disappointed! No tables because they said they had to move them out because it was sold out. They told we could hold our drinks and food in our laps. I feel instead of this place focusing on ppl having an experience they were more focused on money. Disappointed

Great place to take classes if you’re interested in improv, or just wanting to try something new. Instructors are well educated in the arts and push you to really take chances and have fun getting weird with it. After all it’s just playing make believe with a bunch of other people who want to play too. It’s simple as saying yes, and as complicated as adding supporting details.Classes run in 8 week sessions in the evenings and end with a student showcase. Great opportunity for your friends and family to see how much fun you’ve been having. Drop in classes are also offered on Saturdays with rotating instructors and different skills to build on. If you love it as much as I do you should get a punch card where your last drop in class is free!Shows every weekend with a rotating cast of local teams and characters with opportunities for newer teams to get stage time. Todd’s Friend is one such team who’s always a good time. The Kick theater is an intimate black box theater in between Green Room (Killer tots and dill’icious ranch to die for) and Westport Coffee.

We have come here twice now for their family game night on Saturday. This is a truly funny show and very well done. I appreciate true comedy that is not vulgar, so this has been a great find! Now we have another family activity we can enjoy together. Go and enjoy it as well!

The worst experience ever, I ordered a burger from the bar as soon as they opened the doors and waiting so long for it to come. I walked up to the bar to let the bartender know that it’s taking longer than expected and that I would like a refund and he tells me well I can’t or don’t know how to refund but I’ll go check on the food and take it out to you on a tray, okay, so I waited just to not make a big deal since it was my first time there and it took them literally 1 hour to bring it out. Plus the show wasn’t even funny, don’t recommend coming here at all

Everyone was very nice and respectful. My family and i were cracking up the entire time. There is a ton of audience participation so bring friends. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to have an amazing night, there is also a later showing for adults only. Thank you KC Improv group for making me laugh so hard and come up during pillars that was really fun. I cant wait till im old enough to go to the adult only showings.

Secret hidden venue, charming coffee spot upstairs, talented improv, basic chair seating- nothing fancy but you should laugh and that will make up for it. Plus they sell beer, so even if you dont enjoy yourself you can have a cold drink in a dimly lit room (all the lights are on the stage) and pretend you are in the batcave.

The Kick Comedy Theater puts on consistently excellent shows. I have seen countless shows there and have always left with my cheeks hurting from laughing all night. The performers and crew are always friendly, welcoming and professional. The shows have diverse themes and they offer family friendly, all ages shows. Always a wonderful experience!!

Terrible service. We paid $50 for two cheeseburgers and Fries. We had asked for regular fries and they gave us loaded fries. We told two different staff members that this wasnt what we ordered. They said it would be fine and they wouldnt charge us extra, but they did anyways. Not to mention no one came to take an order for nearly an hour and it took another hour to get our food. They interrupted us maybe 5 or 6 times during the show to make sure they had gotten our check. I see now why they automatically added 18% gratuity to the bill. I would go back to see another show, just wont be ordering anything again.

Went on the monthly Gauntlet Night. It featured local comedians that were a part of the improv troupe. First of all, the $11/ticket was an EXCELLENT price. If you like raw, unrehearsed (improvisational comedy) then this is the place for you. The room is small, so you may want to visit their spartan website and buy your tickets ahead of time. We bought ours at the door for a dollar less. It is an intimate setting that seats around 95 or so. You will be a part of the show on most nights, Im sure. The host was great. The performers were hilarious. Very friendly staff. One thing to note, the theater is housed between a bar on one end and a coffee shop on the other end. We went in thru the coffee shop and the staff there were very nice and helpful in directing us to the room. It will be a must see place when we come back to KC. Take your time, no, make time to go and visit this place. You will enjoy it.

Went and saw a Night of Awesome. Dumbest thing ever. We left at intermission. The rodeo clown at the Tonganoxie rodeo the other night put these hacks to shame. If you want good comedy, go see the Laugh Lines group at Topeka Civic Theater. I think the Laugh Lines group comes out of KC. I would have to rate this as one of the bottom 2 comedy experiences with The Life Aquatic being the other.

I love going to shows at the Kick! The have shows on Friday and Saturday nights, and there is something for everyone! Theres a family friendly show early on Saturdays. Theres a show where the improvisors perform with scripted actors from around town with hilarious results. Theres a show called The Gauntlet thats like an improv game show. With different shows every weekend, you can come back every weekend for a month and not see all the stuff the KC Improv Company has to offer.Plus, Green Room and the Westport Coffeehouse are right there. Need a boost? Throw back a shot of espresso and a homemade brownie from the Coffeehouse. Need to come down off all that sugar and caffeine? Snag a beer and one of the best burgers in the city at Green Room. An excellent venue in an excellent location!
