Beautiful nature spot. Great for photoshoots. Go before closing 6pm-7pm for best natural lighting & to avoid crowds.

I loved seeing the Treaty Oak tree. But it would have been nice to have seen a plack about the tree, not just the people who donated. I had to do some research to do d out that the tree its self is a treaty oak, which is a type of oak. Plus the tree is over 250 years old. So would have just been nice to have had a black to read rather than having to Google it.

This is an awesome tree! They have a boardwalk surrounding the tree so you can get up close and see it. The only disappointment is that you cant climb on the tree. I think it wouldve been fun to climb on.

My family stopped in here for a quick family photo session and it was a really cool experience. This tree is absolutely enormous, pictures just do not do it justice at all. The tree is over 200 years old if I remember correctly and is massive at its base. Once you walk up under the branches that droop down to the ground, you are so engulfed in the tree that you feel like you are in a completely different park. This beautiful tree made for some really awesome family pictures and it was fun to learn about the history of the park and the tree over the many years. I bet this would be really beautiful lit up with lights at night, but were visiting during the day so unable to see what that might look like. The only drawback was there is a large parking garage behind it that can take away from the natural feel of it a bit, but it is still a marvel to see nonetheless.

Its not everywhere you can visit a massive old tree tucked downtown in a city the size of Jacksonville. I was astonished by the beauty of this tree. Its a great location to take photos at. And the beat part is its free to visit. Only downside is limited parking.

The menu here is pretty rustic. Acorns and squirrel are the only items on the menu. If you want wine, you have to bring your own ( and water for that matter.) Upside: There is no corkage fee! Downside: One has to catch and prepare the squirrel and gather the Acorns oneself while dodging photographers filming people in nice clothes shooting you dirty looks. The service sucks.

Limited parking, but they have a cool, huge old tree and you and friends can walk under it and around it. The branches are bigger than most big tree trunks; so heavy they touch the ground. And the trunk so huge you have to see it to understand. A very special place.

The massive oak is unbelievable! It will redefine your concept of a large tree. Amazingly, though many limbs have drooped all the way to the ground and have again started reaching skyward, the tree seems to be in good health with no signs of dying back anywhere. Everyone needs to behold this piece of Jacksonville history!

Jacksonville has so many similarities to Charleston SC. However all of it is within the city like Treaty Oak my first park visiting when I moved here. I love the tree enjoy the experience of the palms tree as well shady and well kept. Cherished quiet park. Great for weddings! Photo shoots! Meditate!Plus Southern Grill right next to park!

It may not have playgrounds and all the fancy things that some parts have but what it does have is an absolutely amazing tree. There are several trees on the property you can walk around theres places that you can sit down you can bring your pets you can picnic you can do all kinds of different things here. I have been going to this park for probably close to 20 years add it never gets old. This tree is absolutely beautiful it is survived so many acts of nature fires storms hurricanes. You can see the wear and tear or some of the branches are twisted but continue to grow. And as I sit underneath this tree it reminds me that as long as you are well grounded nothing or nobody can knock you over you will stand tall and proud. I personally think this is something that everyone should see. And when you read the story about this tree its absolutely amazing.

This tree is something else! In very busy downtown you find a hidden gem that I think is 100-200 years old. Its amazing just even standing near it. I understand trees dont have eyesBut can you imagine how much this beauty has seen? The chances around it? Im so happy they left it where it is instead of cutting it down and building just another building over it.
