We came here for the first performance since they had shut down due to Covid-19. The venue itself, is absolutely beautiful! However, there were a few things that I was not a fan of, for one, they directed us upstairs to a second bar to get drinks because the bar on the first floor was becoming backed up a bit, so we did, and then we were stopped by a very rude employee who informed us that we were NOT ALLOWED right back downstairs to the designated drinking area and HAD to stay upstairs to finish our drinks!! This was ABSOLUTELY INSANE to us! The few chairs that were set up upstairs, were occupied so we had to stand the entire time (in uncomfortable heels) before we were allowed to leave that area. SmhFurthermore, after we were seated, we were approached within mins, by an employee, and told that we HAD to pull our masks up over our nose, so we did, but then noticed a gentleman across from us, who not only did not have a mask on, but also had a drink (uncovered) the ENTIRE duration of the show! We were also rudely told to quiet down when we were having an issue with our masks and were whispering so low, it was absolutely NOT disturbing to anyone around us, as we were 6ft + away from the other patrons. Instead of questioning WHY we were whispering, we were basically just rudely shut down, meanwhile Mr. Richie Rich was still right across from us, with NO MASK and an uncovered drink in his hand. The show itself, was phenomenal, as expected! The atmosphere was nice, and relaxing. All in all, it was an OK experience. I did love being all dressed up, and the drinks were spectacular, although like any place nowadays where they can rip you off, they absolutely will, and by charging a staggering $20 for a double and $18 for a single, they definitely succeeded. I will absolutely go back though, despite the issues we had, it was still a wonderful evening, and a beautiful concert.

Great performance. I dont understand why the vocalists had to wear masks. They were behind a 7-8 foot plexiglas (on three sides) and were tested when they arrived in Jax. The whole audience and orchestra had on masks for the full performance. I felt really bad for the performers. It was overly cautious.

Went to see Dream Theater tonight at the Times Union Center and they rocked the house, and its a great venue for a concert! Its one of those places where theres really not a bad seat, especially compared to larger sports venues. Beers are $8, but almost all the food and non-alcoholic beverages are $4 which isnt bad. All of the staff were very nice. Well definitely keep an eye out for other bands that we want to see that play here.

Saw Rent tonight and it was a great show. Saw it previously at Bob Carr and Dr Phillips. The line up they have this season is terrific. For the price, we have season tickets and sit mezzanine center, it is a very good value. The Times Theatre is a bit worn and the acoustics are good but not great. But overall I would definitely recommend seeing a show at the Florida Times Theatre.

Wonderful experience! Great concert hall venue, & Jacksonville Symphony excellent - talented and passionate! Conductor very helpfully introduced each piece, giving both musical and historical context. Also enjoyed short stroll along immediately adjacent Riverwalk - beautiful view of River and city. Great dining options nearby. Had no trouble finding convenient parking. Great date-night activity. Only drawback was that Ladies restroom on main level was out of order that night (upper level restroom open).

We saw RENT performed on a Wednesday night. The show was good, although at times the singing voices were difficult to decipher from our balcony seats. The cold brew purchased at intermission was $8 and Starbucks it was not. The pass that was purchased with the season tickets had us parked up on the fifth floor of the garage. This resulted in climbing the five flights of stairs after the show and then waiting at least 30 minutes in order to make it out of the garage.

My husband and I sat in very upper balcony for Nutcracker 2019. We bought tickets as a Christmas gift for my daughter and son-in-law- they were with us as well. We were expecting an uninterrupted show, of which the program specifically stated that late comers would only be allowed into the auditorium during intermission !!We made sure to arrive 15mins early to to find and settle into our assigned seats. While we were enjoying the performance our experience was interrupted and our viewing of the performance was distracted by late comers allowed to enter during the performance to which we were very dissatisfied. Not just 1 or 2 people but at least a dozen different people.

Very clean and nice. Great modern venue for plays and other performances. They dont have a huge food selection mainely pretzels and cinnamon pecans and cokes, things like that but all their food is delicious. However if youre the type of person that carries a pocket knife at all times like I am remember to take it out of your pocket before you walk in and definitely dont take any drinks from outside inside the place they would just make you dump it out at the security line. The performances were 5-Star!However, we paid top dollar for seats up front in the pit area directly in center of Row 5, only 2 rows from the orchestra and had to struggle to see around the head of the person in front of us.The seats were also chairs attached to each other in the same row with NO SPACE in-between. So you were literally crammed in between other people like sardines in a can. That was very disappointing and ruined the show! The architect that designed that area should be fired and never used again. Anyone who graduated from high school knows that rows should be higher than the row in front of it. So much Jacksonville FL culture!!!
