We’ve been bringing our dog here for about 3 years. It’s a great spacious dog park with plenty of parking. There are two separate areas, one for large dogs and one for small dogs that connect in the middle with a gate. It’s really nice for people to have the option to bring their small dogs without worrying about larger more playful breeds. Both areas have a dog pond that is usually well maintained and a small covered seating area for the humans. Both have doggy poop bag dispensers and trash cans throughout the park. The water is treated for algae and bacteria and the dye gives it a bright blue color. My pup loves to swim and goes straight to the water every time we go. There are peak times through out the day where the park is more busy but most of the time it’s fine. There’s plenty of space for both the dogs and the humans to roam around it’s always felt really safe, even once it gets dark. The park closes at 10pm and there is some lighting around that helps. One of my favorite features is the dog washing station, which is a blessing since my dog loves to swim and get dirty at the park. There are hoses to make the dog baths easier, and most people bring shampoo and towels for their pups. Overall a great place for dogs to play, swim, make friends and expend their energy.

My dog and I love this park! One of my favorite things about this particular dog park is that they are open until 9 or 10pm, I believe on most nights if not all, where just about all other parks close at sunset. There is a big pond area and lots of shade.

This is her favorite place to be. The park is very spacious and she really loves the water. They keep it a bluish color which is fine unless your pup is white! Also, it’d be nice if people would pick in their dogs poop. The park provides two poop bag stations as well as trash can so there is no excuse.

Review №18

This might be my favorite dog park in the city too. I second the comment that their pool is actually blue. Its definitely not a natural blue like what Im used to in Austin, but itll do. Theres tons of space in the big dog park. Youve got the pond/pool, and tons of gravel/dust running space with some surrounding greenery. There were some tennis balls there, so we played with those. Some other pawrents brought their own fetch toys. Most dogs there were friendly, I only witnessed one little scuffle, but it wasnt too shocking. It seems like on the weekend, most people came after 6pm. Tons of poop bags and trash cans too. Theres also two washing stations, each equipped with 2 hoses. Most people brought their own shampoo and towels.

I visited for my first time in the last week, and I have been back three more times! I enjoy this dog park a lot. Ample parking, separate entrance/exit gates to minimize escape risk, large spaces with water features for swimming, water fountains for people & dogs, pickup stations and trash cans, shaded seating in both areas, and a doggie rinse station along the enterior fence to make cleanup easy for the ride home. The separate small and large dog areas are mostly crushed granite with some grass around the edges, but both have lots of trees to provide shade. The small dog area is honestly the size of some whole dog parks Ive been to! and the large dog/all dog side is twice or three times the size! Everyone I have encountered has been friendly and responsible pet parents. Glad to have this place in my neighborhood.

Great park! The water was a very pretty blue color and there was mud everywhere which the dogs really enjoyed! Very spacious and completely fenced in. There was some occasions where people would take their small dogs into the large dog side and that’s fine but then they would complain about the large dogs being “too rough”. So I’d suggest that they should keep the small dogs and the large dogs separate unless they don’t mind the large dogs “rough playing”. There was also a dog that was too energetic and was jumping on all the other dogs, he would even trip them over. But overall the park is great! The only incidents were with the owners. I highly recommend.

Great dog park with separate large and dog sections. There is plenty of parking and 4 dog wash stations.Inside the park there is well stocked dog poop bags and trash cans. There are also plenty of benches for you to sit on. The park itself is very large with plenty of room to run around. The dog owners are friendly. My only gripe is that there are several small areas where water and mud pile up. My dog loves to go in the mud so he always is very dirty but because there are washing stations, it is not a problem. There is also a fairly sized lake in the center which is nice.I come here regularly and will continue to do so.

First time at the park and we really enjoyed ourselves. The park was clean and the people were nice. As other mention it is long and narrow, but a great place for the dogs to run. The water seems very clean considering the amount of dogs in it. The path appears to be crushed granite and provides good traction without being muddy. Im not sure if we will go back often because it is further then most other parks from me. I wouldnt hesitate to go back.

Had a wonderful time here with the puppy! in our dog park tour of Houston this one was one of our absolute favorites. we came at about 11:30-noonish on a Monday, and there were plenty of other dogs to play with! there’s a sizable water feature that got deep enough that even a Mastiff could swim without touching the bottom, but it tapered in at the sides so a more hesitant dog could feel it out before jumping in. the water was surprisingly clean, though for some reason it was dyed blue, in spite of being ok for the dogs to drink? the park itself is pretty big, with a side for big and small dogs, tall, sturdy fences the whole way around, and plenty of space to run! the park has a nice canopied area to shelter from the sun while your pup plays, though it won’t hold up to too heavy rain! after a big rain, things can get a little muddy, so be sure to dress for the possibility! there was also plenty of parking alongside the park as well, and everything was reasonably flat to walk, though the mud could be a bit difficult to traverse for anyone with limited mobility.all in all, this was one of my favorite dog parks I’ve been to so far- tons of fun for puppy, and so fun to watch the dogs play!

Danny Jackson Bark park has the cleanest water of any of the major dog parks in the Houston area. Chv2 tested the water at all the big dog parks for a story about 3 years ago. They actually drain and clean the pond every week in the summer and every other week in the winter! The guys who work there do an outstanding job and are very proud of their work. If you run into them, you should thank them for their hard work! The only issues I have had are with some people who don’t know much about dogs... some of them even bring food into the park! And sit on the one bench closest to the pond, and facing the pond and wearing their Sunday best. I don’t have a problem with that - it’s just when they get upset about a dog shaking on them or rubbing on them... lol. It’s the dog park! Dress for it!The cleaning stations are really nice and kept clean and in good working order.Be careful about leaving belongings in your car. Like all the other dog parks, thieves like to work the parking lot. The constables hang out in the parking lot quite often and if you call them, they are there in 2 minutes. With all the malls and stuff closed for COVID19, the thieves are probably working the dog parks a little harder, so just be careful.I have a service dog, not comfort support, but a real service dog. Alexander the Great. Alex lives it there! And for me, that’s what really counts! The color of the water is because they put dye in it every day to keep the algae from growing. The color depends on what kind of Algae is prevalent at the time. They also test and put chlorine in it every day. It’s open until 10 pm and feels safe. There are “rush” hours in the early morning, lunchtime and early evening. Mid morning and afternoon, there are always at least a few dogs...Great park! Enjoy! Hope Alex and I see y’all there!

Our pups love this park so much. Im amazed this is a free resource but it makes renting where I do a priority because it makes my dogs so happy. 95% of owners are pleasant and wonderful, know how dogs play rough and bark, and the other 5% can be a little frustrating (bringing big dogs on small dog side or vice versa, not knowing how to train their dogs, not picking up dog poop, being snotty) but this place is overall a gem and a treasure to our family. Ive met some really sweet people here, had great conversations, and the dogs freak out in happiness when they see us pull into this parking lot.

Love the pool! We bring our older dog here to swim, and its definitely her favorite park. The City of Houston does a good job of keeping it clean, especially the water holes but some people cant be bothered to pick up after their pets; probably because theyre too engrossed in their phones and not paying attention to their dogs. 5 stars for the facility and city workers 3.5 - 4 stars for the patrons.

Perkins you seem to be making a lot of assumptions and your review was not very kind. I bring my big scary pit bull (*sarcasm*) there to play with other dogs, not to attack them. The presence of pit bulls shouldnt be used as something to scare people away from this park. The more, the merrier! This is a good park, we go all the time, but it does have a couple drawbacks. The pools that they have dont seem to get cleaned often and instead just get a bunch of blue dye, and there are drainage issues. But the landscaping is taken care of, its typically clean, and there is a lot of room!

This is one of my favorite dog parks in the Houston area. I love that there is about a quarter-mile of running space for the dogs.I love that on both sides the small dog and the large dog they have little ponds for them, they also have an area where you can clean your dog after they run around which I really enjoy. They have plenty of spots where you have doggy bags just in case you run out. Most of the people that go there are friendly. They have benches and plenty of tree and covered spaces just in case it starts to rain. even though its right off the highway in 59 and 610 it is a perfect spot its fairly quiet except for the dogs of course and plenty of space I would recommend it to any pet owner that would want to go and spend some quality time tossing the ball around with their favorite pooch.

The dog park is fine but we noticed that this park often has un-neutered dogs without proper attention from their owners. We ended up sending him to the vet and they had to sedate him to inspect and clean the wounds.

My dogs LOVE coming to this park. They enjoy their time plating, specially in the pool area. However, eventhough theres a small dogs area, some people still bring their small dogs to the big dogs area. It is a big problem to me because one of my dogs is almost 150 lb., and his way of playing is a very rude (with small dogs). He doesnt know how to control his size and weight. And those small dogs owners of course get mad. (I would too).Other than that, this place is awesome.
