Twombly is a visionary. I was able to sit on the benches and write for a while and was not bothered by the curator. In addition, the curator was knowledgeable about the other galleries in the area and provided recommendations and directions.

I may not understand the purpose of the abstract works or the intention of the artist, but I certainly appreciate the free admission, the air-conditioning and the availability of seats in the gallery.

I was only impressed on how he managed to frame and mount those huge canvasses. I dont care if people will say I can not see the beauty of modern art, but if it looks like something a five year old can do... then everyone is an artist. Now I understand why you are not allowed to take photos.

Cy Twombly has good stuff but you’re not going to find it here.

When I first went there, I was blown away at the scale and content of the art work. Even the architecture was innovative, and I love how the natural light and the pristine plaster walls makes you feel as if you are elsewhere, somewhere exclusive. Cy Twomblys work really grows on you.

I normally wouldn’t complain about something that is free, but I’m leaving this review so other people don’t waste their time walking all the way over there from the Menil Collection. The art was essentialIy a bunch of scribbles on giant canvases. Definitely not worth the walk for me. I’m not trying to “trash this...gallery,” but I think everyone (art connoisseur or not) has a right to an opinion. In my humble opinion, it’s not worth seeing, which is probably why they don’t let you take pictures.

So beautiful- I love Twombly’s work!!Haters, if you don’t like modern art, then steer clear - no need to trash this beautiful gallery. Or else approach with an open mind and heart.

I always appreciated this space, and as some of the vulgar, immature people who were upset that their hard earned/appropriated money, was wasted, paying for the admission fee...No.There is no fee.STFU and try and open your eyes; open your minds eye, meditate... so you can open your perceptions, and free them from any and all preconceived notions. The time is coming, where you must widen your gaze;Steele your mind, Holmes...

Pure trash! Seriously I’m in to a lot of fine art and very artistic but this place is highly overrated with drawings that look like is from a 5year old. Waste of time sorry not sorry

The art is certainly subjective and it doesnt change, unlike the main gallery. Its cold in there, so grab a sweater.

Mr. Twombly sure knows his art! This is short, sweet, and free, so definitely worth the trip if you’re in the area.

We were stalked by a security guard and then got a “talking to” for my toddler “standing too close” to a painting. We were identifying colors of the painting. Never had an issue here before. Don’t come here if you have kids.

Inspiring. Beautiful. One of the few individual artist galleries in the US that truly holds the artists intent beyond the wall.

Zero skill involved in any of the painting or crayon canvases. If I had done that in school I would have failed art class.
