Absolutely loved it! I Played the Barony Course and it was great. The greens played slow, but where perfect. A lot of rain the night before and the course drained perfect. Theres a lot of bunkers that do come into play and they are very well kept. This was truly a very nice golf experience and with a golf now price at 37.00 after taxes and fees, was a steal of a deal. Id recommend this course to anybody. Honestly I cant compare it to any other course being this was my first time playing on the Island..but I can tell you..for the price and quality, this course should be a must! Excellent staff, very professional, A+

Great public course: Barney course. Course was in good shape with either wide fairways or narrow with dog legs. The greens were great. $40 bucks a round with coupon book.

Course was dried up, especially front 9 tee boxes on Robbers Row. Get to back nine which doesn’t make a turn to the clubhouse, and no beverage cart in sight, and never saw one after finishing. Obviously no coolers on course with Covid going on, but to not see a beverage cart out when it’s 90 degrees outside is ridiculous. Wouldplay again if you could bring a cooler full of waters with.

Was in Hilton Head a few days last week. Went to this club 3 days in a row. I was with the kids so we stuck to the driving range and the practice course. Craig and the guys at the clubhouse -frankly everyone there-treated us like royalty! We loved it there and hope to be back soon. Thank you!

Played Robbers Row course middle of March. They had a tough winter from what we heard but the course was in terrific shape. Staff were friendly and informative and the layout was great. Play from appropriate tee, which there are 5 to choose from. Got a golfnow hot deal and felt like we were the robbers! Even though there are houses lining fairways, you dont even notice them due to the natural beauty around and trees. I was a little worried the fairways would be too tight and narrow, but there was generous landing areas and even a not so straight ball should allow for a recovery shot.

Played 9 holes on the Barony about a week ago. Good layout that was fair and enjoyable to play. The reason for the 2 stars was the greens. Covered with sand and couldnt putt on them at all. Please tell me before I play that the greens were top-dressed with sand. Jeez.

:Rated 3-1/2 stars: Planters Row is the most recent of the Port Royal courses, providing a pleasant though unspectacular layout in a more tree-lined setting than the other Port Royal courses. Some of the tightest fairways on Hilton Head Island may inhibit getting out the big timber, and will certainly require some good quality shot-making. Water is also a factor on several holes. A solid part of Hiltons Heads offering, which can provide a good start to your Island adventure.

Friendly helpful staff. The courses we played were very well maintained, challenging yet fun and not overwhelming. The greens are very nice and well maintained, not over or under sized. Played the Barony course twice and Planters Row once, preferred Barony due to wider fairways. If youre a very straight shooter, Planters Row is a good course. I agree that refreshments are quite pricey. However, I found the drink cart is quite timely if one tips well ;). Also, my wife and I took a lesson from Brian Tabb and I would highly recommend him. He is very knowledgeable and loves teaching golf. His lesson was very beneficial to my wife and I and the pricing was comparable to others. Everything was better than I expected and I look forward to coming back.

Very expensive for a Monday afternoon $73. Greens were great but that was about it. Second cut hadnt been cut in several days, areas around green were very thin grass and a lot of crabgrass and the ground was rock hard made it very difficult to chip. Fairways were ok nothing great. Absolutely not worth the money.

Played the Barony with my dgt and granddaughter...had a tee time behind 2 men...4 men went around us on the 1st hole and started on hole 2 right in front of us....we waited every shot in 90 % weather for the entire round....called the pro shop initially and were told that a ranger would be out and they never came.....would never recommend this facility

Second year in a row for disappointing golf from Shipyard/Port Royal golf package. Played Barony course, in good shape and extra challenging, but the course wasnt the issue this time. The course was overbooked and we went out in between stacked foursomes. After completing 3 holes, the golf course sheriff complained we were too slow. Our delay was due to the par 3 challenge benefit for veterans, which we gladly donated to, and the extra foursomes from another course being squeezed in between our tee times. It set the tone for the rest of the round and completely ruined it for me. There was barely enough time to use the bathroom before the second nine holes. If you are looking for a rushed experience on a very challenging course, this is the place for you.

We had a horrible time golfing on their Planters Row course. The course should have been closed and not re opened to the public until it was cleaned up from Tropical Storm Julia. Explaining this to the pro was like talking to a little child. He made faces like he didnt believe us, I asked him to hop in a cart and take a look for himself. We also had an Unlimited golf pass and when we asked to play nine more holes he shook his head no. Thank god there was another young man there who told us we could go out on the back nine of Robbers Row. I will never spend another dime there and we take a golf trip every year and love to patronize the local courses. Not sure what was worse the course or the pro?

I have been a footgolfer for two years and recently played the new Planters Row footgolf course at Port Royal Golf Club with my dad and had a blast. The course was challenging, but very playable for footgolfers of any skill-level. There were young children and adult players on the course at the same time while my father and I were playing our round and everyone was having fun.The distances of each hole are long enough to provide an attainable, yet challenging, goal and were given very fair pars. The footgolf greens varied between flat and sloped and varied in speeds, making birdies a close call every hole.I look forward to playing the course again and cant wait to see how the course progresses over time! Keep it up, PRGC!
