Comet isnt the best thing since sliced bread, but its still an excellent ride. Of all the wooden coasters in Hershey, this one definitely has not only the most airtime, but also the most history. It gets bonus points for its interaction with Skyrush and its very roomy buzz bar restraints. Its a very fun ride that you cant go wrong with and a true classic.
Great coaster with good airtime. I got to ride this August on a trip to Hershey. Very good drops and fun experience. Would definitely ride again!
Now, this classic 1946 PTC blew me away! As a coaster Enthusiast, Ive ridden plenty of more extreme rollercoasters. I hadnt heard anything about comet going in, and I was pleasantly surprised! It has a good drop and pretty good airtime! As more enthusiasts have ridden it, theyve had the same general consensus as me: comet is hella underrated. Not only that, but it has comfortable trains, unrestrictive restraints, and is great for families and thrill seekers! Date I say its the best woodie at Hershey! Its smooth and even has airtime! Lightning racer is smooth but has no airtime and wildcat is rough. But in the end, theyre all good rides.
It is so scary! tip: DO NOT ride this roller coaster if you like getting scared.
I think my spine fractured in like 4 places on this super smooth ride....but Ive finally become small enough to ride this with my 6 year old and he thought this was the best thing since sliced kit Kats.
A nice classic ride
And oldie, but a goodie. The layout is boring, but its only because its older. It gives me such a thrill down the first three drops. I like to have my seatbelt a little more loose because it gives way better airtime
An oldie, but goodie. Sadly my body cant take the bumps like it used to. Still better (and somehow smoother)then the newer wooden coasters.
Surprisingly smooth for a coaster thats over 50 years old... Also I recommend leaving the belt a little bit lose so you can pop out of your seat. Awesome ride!
Its a memory. Ive been at Hersheypark to ride the rides for sixty two years. My first ride on the Comet I was nine years old. Now my twelve year old grandson enjoys riding the Comet. Yes the Hersheypark mechanics keep this iconic roller coaster running safe. Yes its still long lines and exciting to ride. When you have memories of past decades you just need to visit the Comet section of the park.
Classic and smooth wooden coaster. Can’t go wrong with it.
Nice classic coaster that still delivers decent air time.
Nice traditional wooden roller coaster. Hersheyparks original coaster.
I went on the Comet the first time I went to Hershey Park. That was about 50 years ago. Every time I go there I have to get on the Comet. Love it.
I like this ride, it’s fun and there is so many hills! It’s right next to sky rush and you can see how the hills differ, it is more of a children’s ride and it would be a great children’s first roller coaster!
Great ride. Very smooth for the age of the coaster, line goes pretty quick. Awesome night ride.
Great old fashioned roller coaster, the only down side is it is slow to load so the line can be long.
This is actually the very first roller coaster that Ive ever rode on (and so far the last). Great old fashioned wooden roller coaster. Loads of fun.
Roller coasters are scary because imagine you are on great bear and the ride falls apart. Then everybody who is on it dies or has a really bad injury so no thank you
Makes me feel like Im in the early seventies too late 80s its very comforting and a great starter rollercoaster
The Comet was my first large roller coaster, and is surprisingly fun. The first drop gives some quality air time, as do most of the others, which surprised me because it is an old ride. There are some bumps and jerks, but it is definitely bearable. The safety restraints made me concerned my first time because they were not touching my legs at all, but I am fairly sure that even without the lap bar, it would still be a safe ride. Overall, it is a fun experience and a bit similar to Lightning Racer.
Really fun. A few drops but it’s ok
The Coaster is very old
Fun wooden rollercoaster. the line is out in the sun so cover up. theres even a vending machine in the line.
1940s wooden coaster is still in great condition. Not too bumpy, nice speed, and no computers here-- still uses friction brakes. Cool!
Always a fun old coaster
This ride is truly a classic. It is nice fun ride that still holds up well to this day. Youd expect a roller coaster that opened in 1946 would be a rough or painful ride, however it is relatively smooth for a wooden coaster. You get some good airtime on this coaster as well. The layout to this coaster is very unique as well. It goes out, back, then a different way, back again, and then it hits the brakes. The drops on the Comet are very fun too. Everything about this coaster is just fun. Its a fun ride, what more can I say? ;)
This is the roller coaster that set the mold for my youngest daughter now 11. She went on it when she was 3. My wife had a rough ride, thought my daughter was gonna flip when it ended. We went on it 3 more times that day. Great wooden coaster.
Oldest coaster in the park, still one of my favorite.
Great ride. Not too big of a drop, but big enough to make this a great thrill ride!If you come to Hersheypark, you need to ride this!!
This is the oldest rollercoaster at Hersheypark, and the first ever wooden coaster I rode! It has good airtime, its actually smoother than Wildcat. The lines can get long, but its a solid ride!
This ride was a bit rough, but not too bad for a wooden coaster.
Great wooden coaster. One of the original rides here at Hersey. Hills arent that large however the turns and bumps give the old wooden coaster a nostalgic feel. You will get banged up but its a lot of fun!
One of my favorite roller coasters I have ever been on
Its a fun ride! There is actually some good floater airtime! For the smoothest ride, sit in the front car, because the back was rough and mildly painful.
Love this fun ride.
Better than the wild cat but still just ok. A classic though.
I love the Comet!! Just something special about wooden roller coasters....wont be going upside down, but they dont need to, they have a charm all their own.
Taught my granddaughter how to ride the roller coasters! BRACE
My Favorite Wooden Coaster at Hersheypark. Its a classic.
Awesome wooden roller coaster! Kid friendly too!
Kids enjoyed the ride. Not as scary as others are for me I M to old lol
A classic old school wooden coaster that still gives a rush after almost 100 years of existence. Great for younger kids.
Although this coaster is old, its the smoothest one in the park!
This roller coaster is different then most other roller coasters at most other parks, and its excellent.
I didnt really like this one due to my age (15) but it was okay.
Great old fashioned fun for the whole family!
For first time roller coaster riders
I really like this ride. My first intense roller coaster. It is a little bumpy though.
First roller coaster I ever road and still fun
First roller coaster I rode in years so much fun
Amazing coaster! Recommended greatly.
Well designed coaster that has stood the test of time...and done it well!A+
A classic coaster that still is thrilling.
I love it
My first roller coaster and my personal favorite
Even more fun in the rain!
Jus a good old fashion rollercoaster
I its a childhood memory but not a great coaster
A organic wooden rollercoaster that does nice drops and the fact that its next to Skyrush, it is more interesting as you can compare the 2 rollercoasters height. Comet is about x2 shorter. Haha.
Classic wooden roller coaster. It has been deteriorating over the years though, sitting in the front row felt like we were leaving the tracks a little bit.
Love this ride
Out n back coaster with lots of airtime, favorite in the whole park
Classic, and its prettier at night when the lights are on
Old time wooden rollarcoaster at Hersheypark one of the first of its kind ever built in the USA
This coaster was Awesome!!!
Super fun and intense
Fun
The ride takes off stress
Had a rough ride. Will try it again when I visit Hershey Park again.
This ride is seriously underrated
