Great day hike. Accessible for all ages. Be prepared to run if you want a workout as it is a very easy trail.

Lovely, close to town, easy to access little hike for the days you want a low maintenance walk in the woods/cant travel/commit much time. 5 stars is not comparing this hike with say the Pacific Northwest Trail- 5 stars is rating it for what it is- an easily accessible anytime walk in the woods. Not spectacular views but you can see a distant view of the lake from the 3+ mile loop on the west side and the 1.6 mile loop on the east side. Just nice quiet forest walk surroundings whether you have time to do the 3+, 1.8, 1.6, .8 or .6 mile loop. Trails are available year round but as you might imagine for a wooded walk in North Idaho- be prepared for mud spring/fall and to wear snowshoes until the snow has been packed down by the snowshoers in winter. Pit toilets in parking lot- no water. Dogs are allowed but there are no trash cans so come ready to transport their waste. Horses are allowed on the West side and I see more evidence of fat tires on that side as well but neither have ever affected my time out there and everyone Ive encountered at English Point on foot/bike/horse/with or without dog has had great trail etiquette.

Trails can be pretty beat up for mountain biking (it’s mild and great for beginners) but also good just to get a little cardio in. It’s beautiful though and great for hiking.

Cool place to hike. They are very nice at telling you to pick up after yourself but provide no place to put your garbage.

This is a very nice, well maintained hiking area with good trail markings. The paths are all laid out on a map in the parking area, and on a few other maps located around the trails. The paths are clearly laid out, and kept open and clean. They also recently went through and cleared out all the dead brush which will make the area more thriving and reduces any fire hazards. The parking area is off the main road, but visible enough to the point I doubt vehicles would be broken into. The lookout points tend to have somewhat restricted views because of the trees, but its still filled with nice views and great trails. This is going to become one of our regular quick hike areas.

Was super muddy from rain 2 days ago. I think it would have been better for mountainbike or horse riding. Decent trail but there a lot of better hiking trails around here

Great hiking trails close to town. The parking lot does have a lot of pot holes. Several loop trails of different lengths, all relatively easy walks with a lot of wildflowers.
